[6.0] "Here I am maybe breaking my rule about rating something lower because of the "type" of match it is. I just really have a hard time with the 3 vs 3 when it doesn't really matter who wins. Make me interest in it somehow, there needs to be stakes."

[8.0] "This was a really enjoyable match, no doubt about it. Everyone gave it there all out there. For the first time in a while, FTR gave it their all, and probably because they have the write opponents in strong main-eventers like Yuta, Mox and Claudio. Edge, and I'm not calling him Cope, kicked off his return on a great note, giving a gutsy performance out there, and the Death Riders were all equally great. I honestly think that they could've done with the win here, but it's not something I'm going to complain too heavily about. It was a good match on a pretty good Dynamite, and I can't really argue with the results because it was Edge's return match. ***3/4"

[7.0] "FTR were really over here. I thought this was a strong main event. They did a good job building the clash between Cope and Moxley, even fighting in the crowd. There was a great spot when Wheeler went for a suicide dive, but Castagnoli caught him with a European uppercut. Cope's team got the win, the crowd were happy, so this match achieve its goals. [***1/2]"

[7.0] "[3.5*] I think this match has been pretty underrated (not even here, here the rating is decent, but people on social media kinda hated the bout for no reason) but honestly, at this point people will dislike everything about the Death Riders, which is a shame because they are trying to fix the angle. I always had Fite/Thriller so this Max stream was the first time I watched an AEW TV Show with ad breaks, so I do not know if the fact that I did not see the dead moments helped me to enjoy the match that much, but I found this one to be really electric. The build to the Mox/Cope staredown was very well executed and the ending stretch was perfect. The crowd was super hot for it, the heel work was great and every babyface sequence received a huge pop, best Death Riders trios match until now."

I'm calling him either Edge or Adam Copeland. Honestly, I just recommend you skip this match cause it's not worth your time."

[7.0] "You could say it as much as you want, I'm not calling him cope. But anyways, this was a really good main event. Great wrestling early on between Dax and Yuta. FTR have been victims of bad booking but they're still two of the best workers in the states. Some really neat counters and good exchanges all match long. Some of Moxley's bad habits were present here (he always has to go into the crowd) but were nullified due to being around so many great workers. ***3/4"

[7.0] "A fun if not particularly memorable six man tag. I'm not as down on the Death Riders as some, and there was a lot of chaos and a lot of energy in this match, with Cope - ew - clearly coming to play, and some good frenetic spots at the end of the match. For a TV main event, it's exactly what you want."
JoeyBingBong wrote on 20.01.2025:
[6.0] "This doesn't come close to its presumed potential, but does enough to get over the line. FTR are central to that feat, operating with their usual snap and aggressively leading the way in terms of the work's quality. Cope's energy is right there with them too, even as he battles some understandable rust. Unfortunately, the Death Riders are pretty rough here, staggering through two lifeless control segments. They aren't able to totally kill this Asheville crowd, but a trim to the runtime would've helped very much. Even still, the eventual fireworks are worth sticking around for and that aforementioned atmosphere does provide some charm. Good TV main event, warts and all. ***"

[7.0] "I think for a TV match this Trios match was decent so solid quality. It seems like Edge and Jon Moxley (again) are blocking the main event scene in AEW, which is a shame, because one is past his prime, the other one never reached any prime imo. To be fair, Heel Moxley works better for me than Face Moxley, but knowing that he is again the current World Title holder in AEW is just a sad sight. 5 former "E"ntertainment guys in AEW's main event picture says it all. Where are the own home-grown talents? Ah, they are in the low-card or mid-card scenes. AEW still having problems catching everything important no screen, because their Video Editor sucks. Overall it was still quite entertaining, especially the second half of the match. But I have to be honest, I am not keen to see a World Title match between Edge and Ambrose. 6.5 out of 10."

[6.0] "I feel this is the perfect main event to describe AEW currently, a company capable of greatness with many great wrestlers, but struggling to get the wind fully in its sails. I do like Moxley and the Death Riders, I don't mind an openly aggressive, in-your-face heel team still acting cowardly now and then (surely a key part of a figure like that getting heat is when they could do things properly but still steal opportunities and victories? ), and the moments towards the end of the match where things come unstuck a little more definitely reflects the brawling style I expect and hope for in their work, the kind of thing that was must-see early on in their run. The issue for me is those bits in the middle where the crowd just do not seem to care. I'm not entirely sure it's all an issue of the work of the Death Riders, considering the booking of them to cartoonishly attack Orange Cassidy with bleach, and the fact that they're facing a team with Dax Harwood (who often gets in his own way) and "Cope" (who I just don't seem to care for). It also doesn't help that Jon Moxley is attempting to portray a more aggressive, often shoot-style or MMA influenced striking character, and regularly has some of the limpest forearms and unconnecting knee strikes i've ever seen, so he just comes off as phony, which has been one of the biggest issues with his recent matches for me. Jay White interferes at the end to fuck over Yuta and put a little feud on track for them presumably. I'm not sure I really want to see Cope wrestle Mox, especially when options like Jarrett and Hangman are still lingering, but I guess that's what we're getting. Essentially I think it was good but as with a lot of AEW at the moment, it felt flat in the places where good becomes great. ***1/4ish."

I don't particularly enjoy Adam Copeland just being called "Cope" now, but, either way, I'm excited to see him challenge Moxley for the World Title, as it seems that's where we're headed. I'd really like a normal Singles Match between them, as well as some sort of stipulation/No Disqualification match."

[9.0] "So it's the first main event of the new year, and the first one on streaming! Well they didn't shirk the moment, it's a very nice looking trios match and I think he totally delivered a great TV main event. The idea of Edge (gonna pass on calling him Cope, sorry) going against Mox is not the most exciting thing to me but I think they could have a nice gimmick match, if Edge is up for it, so I'll give the feud a chance. FTR is great as always and I appreciate how the Death Riders, at their best, really come across like a pack of wolves, I thought they over-delivered here. And man alive, the timing of Claudio picking Cash out of midair when he was going for that tope? The speed of that? Just looked damn great, a lot of highly physical and well timed stuff in that match. It's not quite an all timer but it sets the tone well for the year, really good stuff."

[7.0] "This match had really good energy for a main event that called off a mediocre show. Rated FTR feel like a really good pairing to challenge the Death Riders for a while and Moxley treated them like a legit threat. Cope looked really good and motivated since returning, giving me a lot of confidence in this program and the crowd responded positively. The interference felt unnecessary in this, even though it important to remember that there are a lot of people targeting Moxley's title. ***1/2"

Jamildo2 wrote on 04.01.2025:
[7.0] "Undoubtedly the match of the night. This felt like a tight, well paced match performed be veterans because that is exactly what it was. Copeland is back and looking like he has barely skipped a beat, FTR seem motivated and like the restraints are coming off so it was great. This could be the making of this Death Riders angle and cement them as the dominant force in AEW. Wheeler still looks a touch out of place and would have like to have seen Pac, but I get why Yuta was there and his performance was good as well. Great main event."

[9.0] "This match was fantastic. I still enjoy the Deathriders gimmick and FTR always delivers and it's great to see Cope back. People bitching about the name change, who cared, he mentioned he wanted to do it seven months ago on Close Up with Renee Paquette. I 100% am sure if Cope had never been called 'Edge' before and was simply Adam Copeland in the Fed, if he came out in AEW with the name 'Edge' for the first time as a name change, the people on Twitter would bitch about it. Best Deathriders 6-Man so far and still think the story rules."

[5.0] "I'm sorry but I can't take it with the Deathriders shtick right now. It's gotten old and dry quick with the constant interference and the predictable nature of things. We had some nice moments here and there but it wasn't anything too special. The ending was also a bit overbooked with Jay White hitting his finish on Wheeler Yuta in a feud nobody wants to really...watch. The story behind this match is just stupid, FTR was feuding with Deathriders so their friend, "Cope" Yeah Cope, that's his name now. He really wants you to stop calling him "Edge" so here's "Cope", I couldn't stop laughing at the name, It felt like an inside joke. Also, they missed the spear spot. [**3/4]"

[7.0] "Good match but, why are we calling Adam Copeland as just "cope"? , and why didn't they build this match up? Why are we watching this match without building any story around, why Adam even cares about the deathriders? , AEW is in the downward spiral of its death thralls, and they're all panicking, unable to see straight, double down on everything they ASSUME to be cool but is driving the audinence away But the worst is the production team is absolutely lame for missing the spot edge (i assume) speared moxly through the barrier."

Why are they fighting in the crowd? There was some decent action in this but it went through two commercial breaks and broke down in several sections."

[7.0] "A pretty good main event that was maybe hampered a bit by an unnecessary Jay White interference which basically confirms that he's winning the Casino Gauntlet next week and some pretty uninteresting heat segments during the break. For the most part though, the action is pretty engaging throughout and the final stretch is genuinely quite great. ***1/2"

[6.0] "This match was largely pretty standard but it picked up towards the end, from about the point Cash jumped through the ropes and got 180'd by a Claudio European uppercut. They amped up the action from there on, but it still took four guys and three finishers to put away Wheeler Yuta."

For being the promotions lead heels these Death Riders seem pretty easy to beat and not intimidating when they don't have bleach. And for the viewer most of the match was taken laughing at Cope as a new name, just awful and hilarious."

"Ron Seal match- nothing more, nothing less. With Cope now straight back into the main event scene this could quickly derail what was looking like an exciting story with the Deathriders; I hope I am wrong but by booking the ever ageing Cope as the saviour of AEW then this makes others in roster look much weaker"

[7.0] "Very strong main event, I was anticipating a lot this match and ended up being great, I loved it, it was perfect for what it needed to be, the little interviews at the beginning of the show were excellent, and the action was a typical multi-man main event of a weekly show, started slow, with each interaction meaning something, and progressing very well into a crazy finish. Moxley and Cope trading blows was fantastic, everyone expected this moment, and we were able to see it at the end, really good structure. The match ended with thrill and a crazy crowd, you can't ask for much else, this fulfilled its purpose, truly a blast - {***1/2}"
