[7.0] "7/10 AEW Dynamite #331 was a good show overall, but it clearly highlighted a growing issue AEW has been dealing with for several weeks now: a sense of repetition and creative stagnation despite consistently strong in-ring work. From a purely wrestling standpoint, the show delivered. Most matches ranged from solid to very good, with reliable pacing, clean execution, and performers who clearly know how to make the most of limited weekly TV time. Nothing felt outright bad, and at no point was the show hard to sit through. In fact, it was often enjoyable, especially when the action picked up in the second halves of matches, where intensity and urgency finally kicked in. However, that's also where the main problem lies: it's starting to feel too familiar. The structure of the show, the way matches are laid out, and even the dynamics between certain wrestlers feel like variations of what we've already seen multiple times in recent weeks. There's a recurring pattern of matches that take too long to truly get going, followed by strong closing stretches that almost feel like they're trying to compensate for a lack of freshness earlier on. Several bouts on the card suffered from this exact issue. The quality was there, but the early portions were often generic and formulaic, making it harder to fully invest emotionally until much later. When the wrestlers finally clicked, it worked--but by then, the feeling was less "this is exciting" and more "this is what I expected." That predictability slightly hurts the overall impact. In terms of booking, the show also lacked major progression. Feuds didn't meaningfully advance, stakes weren't significantly raised, and there were few surprises to shake things up. It felt more like a "maintenance" episode than a chapter pushing stories forward. While that's acceptable occasionally, it becomes an issue when it happens week after week. That said, the performers themselves continue to carry the product. The chemistry in the ring, the athleticism, and the professionalism are undeniable, and they prevent the show from dipping below "good." AEW is still delivering quality wrestling television--just not consistently exciting television at the moment. In the end, AEW Dynamite #331 was a solid, enjoyable weekly show that did many things right but struggled to feel truly fresh or essential. A 7/10 feels fair: good wrestling, good execution, but a growing sense that the product is spinning its wheels creatively and needs a spark to move forward again."

Overall a decently mid Dynamite with some smatterings of excellent, my guess is all the "good matches" are going to happen in Australia . Back Rake count: 0, Eye Poke Count: 3. 6/10 show."

[9.0] "Another really good show with some really inspired booking decisions and great in-ring action all-around. Opening trios match was fun. This DCF/Death Riders has been everything I wanted it to be. OC/Toni are one heck of a team; they're funny as hell together. They're entertaining in the ring and they're promos are dope. Hangman vs. Davis was really good. Davis is fantastic. Kenny vs. Andrade was my match of the night; great, great stuff from both men. Kenny's still one of the best wrestlers in the world and Andrade is just having the run of his life right now. He should be the one to challenge Max at Revolution. Babes of Wrath vs. MegaBad was good. Megan is a beast. Ricochet vs. Perry was solid. A bit too long, but enjoyable in the end. Darby/Gabe angles were crazy as fuck, some of the wildest shit I've seen in a minute. MJF vs. Brody was an AMAZING closing angle; very bold decision to have Brody squash Max, but it worked perfectly. Brody feels more legit, Max doesn't feel like less of a champ and the match in Australia will be more interesting as a result. Booking-wise, one of the best Dynamites in a long time. Bold, but correct choices that elevate an already STELLAR world title scene. The big DCF/Death Riders is hitting big time for me and the midcard is filled with good workers (Ciampa, Ricochet, ecc...) which make every match worth seeking out. Only real downside in the company right now is the women's division. The booking has been abysmal with all the titles relegated in a heatless feud between two trios (Stat, Willow, Harley vs. Triangle of Madness). With Mercedes gone and Toni being in a mixed tag feud, the division more care and time. The in-ring action is good, great at times, but, as a whole, it's all very uninteresting. Hopefully the start of that will be with Kris dropping the title to Thekla next week. 9/10 (f*ck ICE)."

[7.0] "This was a pretty good show. Andrade Kenny being MOTN. Every other match felt like a 6-7 with the exception of ricochet vs jack Perry which I'd say was around a 5. Thought the ending was pretty good too!"

[8.0] "This was a very strong episode that was based around very solid matches, and shocking moments as we saw Andrade punch his ticket to AEW Grand Slam, MegaBad have a future AEW Women's World Tag Team Title Match at Grand Slam, and Brody King squashed the AEW World Champion MJF in less than two minutes, just an all-around fun episode of AEW Dynamite as we head towards AEW Grand Slam next week."

[10.0] "Thought this was a pretty fantastic show. You got something genuinely different with the squash in the main event, the world title picture is super layered and entertaining at the moment, every match was good to excellent outside the squash (which was as entertaining a squash as you're ever likely to get) and they set up a bunch of interesting stuff going forward especially with an incoming Swerve/Omega feud. Andrade pinning Omega and Swerve in back to back weeks is one hell of a return for him - easily the best he's felt and looked in AEW. Booking feels very focussed just at the minute. Also a great big +1 for the Fuck ICE chants and AEW allowing them to be heard before the match started."

[10.0] "First 10er of the year for me. AEW's been packing so incredibly much into these two-hour shows lately. Every match was fun, Jack Perry getting backup from the Young Bucks and Ricochet somehow STILL getting away with it was fantastic heel work. Brittnie Brooks and Jordan Oasis stooged their asses off in the mixed tag, and both eliminators were great storytelling. Everything came together tonight."

[9.0] "Tonight's Dynamite delivered nearly everything a fan could hope for. Andrade continues to assert himself as a top-tier performer, carrying the main event scene with energy and intensity. The World Title picture is buzzing with electricity, and Ricky's showcase reminded us why he's such a standout. Mega Bad earning a title shot adds anticipation for the coming weeks, while Hangman vs. Andrade in Sydney is shaping up to be a must-watch encounter. Even the mixed tag squash worked in context, thanks to post-match comedy that landed perfectly. Coupled with strong promos and slick video packages, the episode felt polished, exciting, and consistently engaging from top to bottom."
ElNiniOM wrote on 06.02.2026:
[7.0] "An episode that started tentatively with three rather unremarkable matches but was truly launched by the excellent Omega vs. Andrade match and ended with two decent bouts and an effective surprise squash match. The relevance of this format and eliminator matches in general can certainly be debated, but for the sake of this show, I found it refreshing and well-executed. There were quite a few interesting segments outside of the matches: Darby's kidnapping, of course, even if the rivalry dragged on a bit, it was still quite fun; Swerve and Hangman's attempts to disrupt the matches; and Storm and Cassidy's promo, which brought a smile to my face. Finally, the last few minutes had that wild edge I really appreciate, from the surprise squash match and the good brawl to the inspired chants of a relevant crowd. Match quality: 2.75/5. Angles and off-match segments: 1.75/3. Bonus/penalty: Audience <3 +0.75. Total: 7.25/10. Show seen on Triller TV"

[5.0] "This company is getting worse. "Eliminator" matches have replaced the gigantic tags, with half of those eliminators being for dummy belts. Feuds and even gimmick matches are thrown together (see the upcoming parking lot fight). I don't mind a surprise squash upset. I think Brodie Lee beating Cody was handled very well, but this main event was a joke with Hangman just hitting his music seconds into the match for a fucking one-minute distraction finish. Andrade vs Omega was okay but felt to me the kind of match which ticks the boxes for a '7' or so but had the emotional engagement of a '6'. Also, MJF still gets more TV time with his ring than Bandido does with his."

I do like the Kevin Knight one though, it's good to spotlight guys who might not be wrestling every week to make them feel less plug and play and more focused."

[9.0] "This was a very good Dynamite. Probably the best and most consistent show theyve done since Blood and Guts. The world title stuff once again steals the show for me. Not only was the Andrade/Kenny match on this show awesome, but i loved the dissension between Kenny and Swerve after that match and the Brody/MJF stuff in the ruled as well. I absolutely did not expect Brody to basically squash MJF, admittedly with help from Hangman, but i thought it was a very entertaining little angle and easily the best thing Max has done so far during this reign. Bonus points for the Fuck ICE chants too, that ruled. Some really cool announcements for the Australia show too with Hangman/Andrade, Brody/MJF and Mox/Takeshita being aded to the card as well as a rematch for the women's tag title between Megabad and Babes of Wrath which is a match i actually have somewhat decent expectations for after their surprisingly fun match on this show. Very strong wrestling all across the board here with the aforementioned Andrade/Kenny match stealing the show for me and Page/Davis and the main event also being very good too. It's been a pretty slow start to the year for AEW but it looks like things are finally starting to come together ahead of the Aussie show and Revolution. More focus on the women would be great (like why is Kris only appearing in a backstage promo when she's the world champ), but overall i thought this was a very strong show that made me very hopeful for the next few weeks of AEW programming. MOTN - Andrade El Idolo vs. Kenny Omega"

[6.0] "[6.5] The February 4th, 2026 edition of AEW Dynamite ends up being a decent show. I didn't even know this was the go-home until after this show. The highlights of the night for me was the Six-Man Tag with The Callis Family & The Deathriders, Cassidy & Storm's squash, Page vs. Davis, Omega vs. Andrade, Babes of Wrath vs. Megabad & MJF getting squashed to Brody King. My only complaint about this show is the lack of meaningful segments or promos for the build up to Grand Slam Australia. Overall, a decent show."

"[9.5] This show felt like a true go-home before a PPV event. The momentum that has been placed over the course of the past 2 weeks has been phenomenal with the AEW World Title and the story - though can be a bit goofy per-se - of the Toni Storm and Orange Cassidy potential hair loss threat is amazingly entertaining; the segment of Toni and Cassidy performing a squash match but still showing wrestling at the same time is great. The Andrade and Kenny match was shear enjoyment and the character that Andrade is playing as an arrogant Latino heartthrob is gold for his new run. The showcase of Tommaso Ciampa being a new defending champion creates a new face feel as a gotta watch talent each week and the Brody King squash of MJF... (CHEF'S KISS)!"

[9.0] "I don't understand the rating for me, it was absolutely an excellent Dynamite. We had a ton of storyline developments and matches of good quality. The ending sets up the Grand Slam match, which promises sparks. Finally, we have Brody getting a singles PPV chance for the title. On paper, Brody doesn't stand a chance, but they wanted to give him some opportunity considering the episode's finish, and that makes sense. It also makes sense to push Brody as the federation's monster face after all, he's one of the wrestlers with the most impact on the crowd. For me, again, everything was fine; I didn't find any glaring flaws. I wish all episodes were like this."

[5.0] "I wasn't a big fan of this episode of Dynamite. The first hour was solid: a good six-man opener to warm up the crowd, a serviceable (if predictable) Page vs Davis match, and a genuinely great Andrade vs Omega bout, easily the highlight of the show. I'm really not into the Orange Cassidy & Toni Storm act, but it was short enough not to hurt the first half. After that, though, the show really flattened out for me. The women's tag eliminator and Ricochet vs Perry both felt heatless, the Kidd/Connors/Darby segment was way too hokey, low-rent and Russo-esque for me and while I like the Brody King squash of MJF on paper, it makes the Grand Slam match feel even more predictable. Not a bad show, just too flat and safe overall. Andrade vs Omega is the only match I'd really go out of my way to recommend."
AJN7 wrote on 05.02.2026:

[7.0] "El Clon, Josh Alexander & Konosuke Takeshita vs Daniel Garcia, Jon Moxley & PAC: An interesting pairing for this opening match, a mix of high flying and technical action made this an enjoyable watch and DCF beating Death Riders was an interesting decision, the action was solid [***1/2].  Orange Cassidy & Toni Storm vs Brittnie Brooks & Jordan Oasis: A squash match that had one or two moments of fun with OC and Storm and them getting the win was good to see if inevitable [*3/4].  Adam Page vs Mark Davis: Page continues to prove why he belongs in the world title picture with a decently fought win here against Davis, but Davis gave Page a good fight and they had a better match than I expected [***1/2]. Andrade El Idolo vs Kenny Omega: A great match between these two which was to be expected, Omega proved that he can still go at a certain level even after the injury that kept him out of action, Idolo getting the win was good to see, Swerve Strickland coming out for the distraction and the low blow to Omega were not needed but still a great match [****1/4]. Megan Bayne & Penelope Ford vs Harley Cameron & Willow Nightingale: A questionable result with the champions losing a non title match but it was still a solid eliminator match in the women's division [***]. Ricochet vs Jack Perry: A fine match with the chemistry lacking a bit with GOA getting involved with The Young Bucks coming out [***]. Brody King vs MJF: A very quick eliminator match with King getting a shock win over AEW World Champion MJF after Hangman Adam Page interrupts [*3/4]"

Brody vs MJF is also a 4-star match; not quite as fantastic as Brody vs Cruz but a damn effective squash that builds off of the past few weeks of TV for both men that was punctuated by really loud FUCK ICE chants after the bell."

[8.0] "Damn good episode. Kenny and Andrade smoked my expectations, which I was keeping low because just don't always know with Kenny and how he's feeling week to week. But they both killed it. Hangman and my baby Mark Davis belted each other into pulp, I love Mark Davis. Jungle Boy and Ricochet have fantastic chemistry. I never would've thought it, but they really do. Loved Jack's hair tonight too. The mixed squash was fine, but the MAIN squash, now that was a magnificent bit of booking. Fucking love a surprise, and it doesn't hurt MJF any, so. Loved it. Episode not getting a full ten for 2 reasons though: I hate seeing Moxley with a belt, he's dull as dishwater and has made ZERO character growth or done a single thing interesting since winning it. He's just gotta have gold at all times though I guess. Also, it was pretty hard to care about seeing Babes of Wrath again. I mean the match was solid, I just want to see some heat in the tag division and BoW are pretty meh as a team."

[9.0] "Really enjoyed this episode! The wrestling itself was great, with the weakest match being the Orange/Toni match, but we knew that was just to advance their connection as a team. Thoroughly surprised by the Andrade win, but that's a good thing even if I wanted Kenny to get the title. This new character work for Andrade has been an absolute hit with him as the real Latino man heartthrob. Rico and Perry was great and really liked the post match to set up a potential trios soon (after the 3 way tag). Main event angle kicked absolute ass. Loved the squash there and MJF loses absolutely nothing while making Brody a legit main eventer. Awesome show!"

The only thing that was missing was maybe a great in ring promo and getting rid of that too long and uninteresting match between Page and Davis. Besides that this was a super fun and action packed episode of wrestling that actually makes me look forward to next week rather than just watch out of habit."

[10.0] "Excellent show! You had top quality wrestling, some fun angles and a lot of unpredictability. I like that AEW has been sprinkling in a lot of surprising winners over the last few weeks and specifically on this show, I think Andrade and Brody King winning shocked everyone. On top of that, Andrade/Omega, the six-man tag and Mega Bad vs Babes of Wrath were all great. Can't really say I had anything to complain about."

[7.0] "During the series of opening promos, I thought it was weird that Andrade wasn't with Don. Similar to last week, this was one of those episodes that had to win me back as the night went on and it did with the final segment. The opener ended with too many near falls and involved forced bushido fighting spirit spots between 2 factions that are heels. Most of the work wasn't bad but heel v heel made me uninterested beyond the title match which Mox will win *groans*. Swerve filler segment and an Orange Storm squash which I didn't need (could've just recapped the collision one) before the 1st thing on this show I cared for, a Toni promo. I enjoyed that and the war dogs/darby segment (even if it feels like a death riders extension) because these are the few non title programs going on. Hangman match was fine asides the deadeye kick out and while I'm often critical of passionate hangman promos, I liked the brief one he delivered here. Ospreay & Knight (needs a storyline) vid packs were fine. Omega v Andrade was pretty good as expected but I'm not a fan of Andrade being another tweener. Also, while Andrade is a fresh challenger for the world title, I'm not sure how much I care to see that match. MJF needs to carry these promos to sell that. Andrade feels like the guy who should challenge at a wrestledream/worlds end but we'll see. The post match between Swerve and Omega was way too basic despite them hinting at the feud. While her delivery was pretty good, Stats segment gave us nothing substantive. The "here damn" women's match was pretty engaging. I like how it started, and while a few things were off I was actually into this more than a lot of other stuff on the show. Megabad have more chemistry than Skye/Julia which helped make this match better. The tower of doom finish was awkward cause they needed to drop Harley safely and she didn't react like she was trying to escape it. Very happy that they're carrying on the open challenge with Ciampa, but what do you mean it was answered by 2 guys ahead of time? Weird. Oddly enough, my MOTN was the national title match despite me not caring for the title nor liking the finish. I'd prefer if this were just a feud and it's strange that they're the only ones in this division (asides Bowens lol). Continuation of the Darby was kinda odd but the final angle with MJF getting squashed completed the turnaround for this episode (even though last week was better). It's unlike AEW to not deliver an advertised match but I'm happy that they did that here."

[7.0] "A pretty good episode of Dynamite once again. The opening six man tag was pretty fun, and continues to grow interest in a Moxley Takeshita feud, I'm sure the Death Riders vs DCF saga continues until double or nothing. The mixed tag was fun followed by a pretty good promo segment between Cassidy and Storm, hair vs hair is always an engaging stipulation. Page vs Davis I didn't care for, probably should've been saved for a Collision because let's be honest nobody cares about Mark Davis. Andrade vs Kenny was EXCELLENT, Andrade was the correct winner, and I love the idea of Swerve vs Kenny. After this the show was very mid, the womens tag was dumb, eliminator matches shouldn't exist. Ricochet vs Jack Perry was okay, I don't really know where we go from here though. And the Brody King squash was shocking but Brody was always going to win this match to set up the world title match at Grand Slam, I just don't believe in pinning your world champion, I think it's lame and degrades your top champion. Personally I think Brody King should've been named #1 contender, and a promo segment between the two could've been more beneficial. Overall, show was a mixed bag with some good, a little bad, and a lot of mid. 6.5/10 show"
