[6.0] "A pre-show full of fun matches such as the opener and the "main event." Not much going on, but overall it was really fun. I would have given a point more if the main event ended here."

[5.0] "A solid pre-show with a couple of good matches and a couple of either okay or average matches. Claudio Castagnoli, Daniel Garcia, PAC & Wheeler Yuta vs Kyle O'Reilly, Orange Cassidy, Roderick Strong & Tomohiro Ishii: A solid eight man tag team match to open the Tailgate Brawl, Ishii and Castagnoli had a very interesting exchange, Death Riders had a solid heel performance which led to the win, an enjoyable to watch match [***1/2]. Eddie Kingston & Hook vs Cole Karter & Griff Garrison: A basic squash style match that got Hook and Kingston the obvious win here which was good to see [*1/2]. Harley Cameron & Willow Nightingale vs Megan Bayne & Penelope Ford: A fine women's tag team match with some fine action throughout, not much special happened here so suitable for a pre-show [**3/4]. Cash Wheeler & Dax Harwood vs Kevin Knight & Mike Bailey: It started on the pre-show and finished on the main show which was different to see, they do have good chemistry and it showed, the way the pyro went off on the stage to open the main show while both teams were on fire with their exchanges was a thing of beauty, could have been longer and fully on the main show [***3/4]"

[4.0] "short televised episode, made as a wrestledream pre show. It was just an alright show with nothing so memorable, just warm up the actual ppv. Obviously it opened up with one of the main heel factions, that storywise it can be justified as an okay match, I'd thinking of trying push Yuta more, since I see that it gets a lot of heat with the crowd. Another thing to mention is the FTR vs JetSpeed match, that at beginning felt like they rushed to do every spot, because I looked at the countdown, and there was less than 5 minutes so it got overlapped. For me it did looked like a production issue to have too many matches and not able to fit em in an hour of show, and it was a televised show. 4.8/10"

[7.0] "I cannot complain about this as a pre-show. Three solid to good matches (even if one spilled over into the main event), with some talent that feels like unfair amounts for a pre-show. Match of the show was definitely FTR vs. JetSpeed, even if it did technically spill into Wrestledream itself."

[6.0] "One of, if not the, best pre-show I've seen in terms of in-ring quality. Three quality matches, intense and well-constructed. Hook and Kingston's squash is anecdotal, however. Nothing noteworthy aside from the matches, which took up a significant amount of space. Which suits me fine, given that the Zero Hour presentations dragged on a bit too long, and there are Countdown videos to hype up the matches. Note the great atmosphere, which will continue into the main show. In-ring quality: 3/5. Angles and non-match segments: 0/3. Bonuses/penalties: great atmosphere and justifiable focus on the matches +0.75. Total: 5.75/10. Show seen on Triller TV."

[6.0] "This was a fun pre-show. The main event rolling right into the PPV was nice, like AEW forgot the bell schedule but decided to just keep going anyway. The multi-man was just there, everyone doing their thing. Overall though, it had energy and felt alive. This pre-show was better than NXT and ROH main cards."

[5.0] "This wasn't that great but I thought it was simply fine. The only thing of note is FTR and Jetspeed spilling over onto the main show. I have mixed feeling about the ending but it did lead to a pretty fun chaotic opening for the beginning of the PPV"

[7.0] "[7.1] Alright pre-show, would have been a six if not for the really good final match which was also technically the PPV opener? Everything besides FTR/Jetspeed is okay but honestly not really worth going out of your way to watch unless you really like someone."

[8.0] "The sophomore effort is definitely an improvement! Seems like they've figured out how to get people to tune into pre-shows; to wit, throw them on TV, and use them as the old barker pre-shows of old; it's like Sunday Night Heat in style and substance. Bonus points for having the "main event" of the pre-show crash into the main show like it did; it reminds me of WCW pyro always going off at the top of the second hour, no matter whether there was a match going on or not. And hey, if it helps sell another ticket or two, who's to say it was a bad idea?"

Enjoyed the women's match, but I knew I'd have to watch Willow pin Penelope (Ugh SMH). FTR with the dub over the overpushed JetSpeed."

arkhamoutlaw10 wrote on 19.10.2025:
[7.0] "Really good buy-in (tailgate brawl) with two really great tag matches, and two decent ones that established tempo for the evening. Willow and Harley are a success story already, Megasus and Penelope Ford are likely finalists for the women's tag title tournament, and FTR vs JetSpeed is one of the best "pre-show" matches in company history. Most essential pre-show they've ran in ages."

"Great matches for the Tailgatebrawl. First match went longer than it should have. Hopefully with the Death Riders winning, hopefully sets up for what will happen on the ppv. Eddie Kingston/Hook is a great tag team. Women's Tag Team went above expectations. Didn't see the last match finish since it overlapped onto the main show. This is definitely another cheap shot by Tony Khan. Neither WWE or TNA would have done this. Their preshow's always end on time with a few minutes before the main card. So glad I didn't buy Wrestledream."
