[7.0] "Spirit Rising Night 1 was a solid show overall, though not essential viewing. Violence is Forever vs. Astronauts was the standout match worth seeking out."

[7.0] "Very interesting mix of styles in all of the matches that was fascinating to see. Each wrestler performed well against their opponent in interesting and fun matches. Definite highlight was Violence is Forever vs The Astronauts which was one of the best matches I've ever seen in DPW. Hope the next night's matches are even better!"

[6.0] "When I saw the announced matches for Day 1 of the Japan tour I was really excited to see it, but it wasn't as good as it should have been, Astronauts vs. VIF the only one that didn't disappoint although I still expected a lot more."

[5.0] "More of a light-hearted show with the DPW regulars adapting to the wrestlers and styles from the other represented promotions. Comedy and kayfabe breaking moments featured in most of the matches, and whilst I don't mind comedy in pro wrestling, the constant switching back-and-forth from it to standard wrestling in the matches kinda takes me out of the zone. Fun and good wrestling was to be found on this show though, especially from the 2 tag matches. The 2 World's title matches were both solid and truly establish them as World titles now. I think the only real bad thing here was the opener. Will be interesting to see what Night 2 provides for us next."

[7.0] "A six match card that is in and out in two hours is my ideal wrestling card. Everything was at a minimum good. A shame they did not move the crowd forward as very few tickets were bought for the front row facing the hard cam so looked emptier than it probably was."
