Randy vs drew is hot ass, an 8 minute match with half of it being on commerical break and the other half having jelly roll and Logan Paul fighting sounds like a made up story but its actually real. Solo vs jimmy is garbage too. It was only there to set up Jacob vs solo at SummerSlam which also ended up being hot ass. Seth vs la knight was good til the very unnecessary injury angle which was only done for a Netflix show. Gunther vs Goldberg is motn and that's hilarious because it was average at best. But I guess that's good for Goldberg."

[4.0] "The most underwhelming major wrestling show of this particular busy weekend. Orton vs McIntyre was a through-the-motions TV match mainly existing as a setup for the Jelly Roll-Logan Paul angle (and subsequently the SummerSlam tag match). Sikoa vs Jimmy Uso was certainly a match that happened. Knight vs Rollins was pretty decent up until the Rollins injury (or injury angle, as would later be revealed). Gunther vs Goldberg was the best of the show pretty much by default and actually overperformed on expectations; it's easily on the top shelf of competitive Goldberg matches, and particularly of those that have gone over ten minutes, which was rather surprising as that wasn't his strong suit in 1998 let alone in his retirement match 27 years later. Crappy move to cut off his speech, however."

We'll be right back"-Screens.

"As a long-time wrestling fan, the Saturday Night's Main Event on July 12, 2025, wasn't just a disappointment; it was a profound insult and a microcosm of everything wrong with WWE in its current TKO-era state. This show, positioned as the crown jewel of a "flood the zone" weekend, felt like the company threw everything into stacking the weekend, but then bothered to do nothing beyond that for its supposed biggest draw. December 2024's SNME wasn't bad, and January 2025's was merely wobbly, but post-WrestleMania, the wheels have come entirely off, the brakes have been cut, and we're careening off a cliff with no one seemingly capable or willing to save us. This was a drag of a show, delivering nothing but lifeless matches, forgettable moments, and the depressing reality that we're watching 40-year-old men slowly shuffle through half-hearted routines. It showcased mediocre wrestling, bad production, and storytelling so poor that there was simply no reason to care about anything that happened, before, during, or after this creatively bankrupt disaster. The numbers speak for themselves: out of a roughly 120-minute runtime, we endured a meager 31 minutes of on-screen wrestling. To add insult to injury, this was less than the 35 minutes dedicated to the "commercial break in progress" screen. I shudder to think how much self-promotion padded that total, but the show frankly felt more like an extended advertisement than a wrestling program. And no, for those watching live, you can't "skip the adverts"--televisions are not time machines, and neither is the broadcast. Everything truly fell apart the moment Seth Rollins went down with a serious injury. It didn't just look bad; it felt palpably serious. You could practically hear the collective silence and see the panic backstage, yet WWE barely reacted. The rest of the night was dead. LA Knight looked lost, Bron Breakker was running on empty, and absolutely nothing that followed had any fire. If Seth Rollins is out long-term, this entire main event scene is utterly cooked, robbing us of our MVP and leaving us with a flat show and an equally flat crowd. It was a disappointing sight, as his match with LA Knight had genuine potential, only to be cut short by this devastating incident. Even Goldberg's otherwise "somewhat good send-off match" was marred by the F-level production cutting off his final, crucial promo. The baffling decision to feature only four matches, with only one appearing to have any thought put into its production, compounded the misery. The main event segment starting at 9:30 PM, featuring a 59-year-old Goldberg who "topped out after three minutes in the prime of his career" attempting to work for nearly a quarter of an hour, was an absolute mind-boggle. It makes you genuinely wonder if Triple H has lost his goddamn mind. And this plan was evidently in place after Seth's injury. The structure of the Goldberg match offered little room to cut minutes for Seth's bout or to afford Goldberg a retirement speech lasting more than twenty seconds. They even had to scramble and throw to commercial at 9:55 PM after the match because they nearly forgot their full commercial allocation--perhaps if they'd utilized that time during the excessive padding segments earlier, Goldberg could've had his moment. This rushed and poorly executed build-up for all three weekend shows explains why Goldberg himself reportedly complained to Ariel Helwani about the shoddy handling of his farewell. At least he made an effort, which is more than can be said for Butterbean. Perhaps the biggest sin of all for a major WWE show in 2025 was the complete absence of a single woman wrestling on the card. The women's division, often a consistent highlight, was unceremoniously shunted to the "here, damn" show the next day, which was then made to compete directly against a Beyonce concert. This is a blatant disregard for a vital part of the product and a truly terrible decision. And then there's Jelly Roll. Who the f* asked for Jelly Roll? ** His cameos are no longer fun; they actively detract from the show. The utterly perplexing announcement that he's slated to work SummerSlam too makes me question what they're smoking up in Stamford. This show burned through a substantial portion of the goodwill Triple H had accumulated simply for "Not Being Vince McMahon." It was entirely avoidable, and its failure wasn't just confined to the in-ring action. It didn't even achieve its goal of "flooding the weekend" with WWE content, as nobody truly paid attention, and the ratings cratered to their worst despite the lack of competition. No matter how you slice it, "Saturday Night's Main Event" on July 12, 2025, was an absolute, unmitigated dud. It's time for WWE to come up with something new, because the current main event offerings are nothing but gloom, MFT, and once again, gloom."

The injury is exactly the same as the one he suffered back in 2015 at a house show in a match against Kane - even the leg is the same. At least it wasn't LA Knight's fault or anything. I wonder what WWE plans to do with the briefcase now, as the current Mr. Money in the Bank could be out for far longer than a year. 2) Well, I think Gunther had the best match possible anyone could have had with Goldberg at this point. Speaking of Goldberg, this man is pushing sixty but he still managed to look more physically impressive and intimidating than his 20-years-younger opponent. What a specimen he is! That broad chest of his, and thick neck, paired with gargantuan traps pays its dividents to this day!"

And this, I want to point out, is after Seth's injury, so what was the original plan? There's little in how the Goldberg match was structured that could cut off those minutes to give to the Seth match or let Goldberg get a retirement speech that lasted more than twenty seconds. [Orton/McIntyre] This felt like a short TV match. Some moves in the ring, as well as repeated slams on the announcer's table (a few of many spots here throughout the night), no real highspots or highlights though. The action really slowed to a standstill when Logan Paul and Jelly Roll went at it. [US Title] This was fine but maybe low energy for a title match. Again like the first match we had time spent inside & outside the ring, as well as by the announcer's table. Interference again occurring leading to the finish, but it wasn't quite as obnoxious as it could be. This lead to the return of Jacob Fatu scattering Solo's crew. [LA Knight/Rollins] This was going well and broke the sameness of earlier matches until Rollin's injury and rushed finish, which was a shame. [Goldberg/Gunther] Definitely a match of 2 halves. First half was all-Goldberg until he speared himself through the barricade. 2nd half was all-Gunther after Goldberg speared Charles Robinson. Goldberg still looked like he could go, but he looked like he was going by muscle memory with some stuff and it looked like Gunther was fighting Goldberg's aura rather than the body. If ever there was a time to have no commercial breaks though it was this match, and we didn't get it. Feel similar about the post match send off for Goldberg, it really was a brief few words and that's all really? a bit underwhelming considering all the build up and reminders throughout the match. The match I thought was fine, but Goldberg definitely deserved a better send-off than he got."

I refuse to believe that the WWE feel they can't do better, so why aren't they? ! Poor show and I won't watch another SNME again."

It certainly wasn't a "saturday Night Main Event" pretty much every match was around 10 minutes long and all had regular show feel to it. There was absolutely nothing special to make it stand out and the results were exactly what you expected them to be. We absolutely would have been better with just a big NXT PLE only than this massive waste of time."

This bloodline run is the beating the dead horse era and they really need to wrap it up. Cant rate Seth/Knight at all given its ending. Gunther and Goldberg went way too long. Goldberg was never a above 5min good match guy in his day and much worse at his end. I'm sure they had to buy for time but throw in some angle to promote evolution more. Just a terrible affair, 0 reason for this show to have even happened."

And the only time the women were used for anything tonight was a segment/brawl with Jade and Naomi and Bianca popped up to announce she's gonna be the guest ref in their match at Evolution. But I guess that's...something. And for what it was worth, whether you love or hate Goldberg, I think the way WWE honored him was in the poorest of tastes. I mean, they cut him off while he was making his retirement speech while the show was ending. Apparently, this company can't seem to let go of the past when it was battling WCW back in the 90s.At this point, if WWE isn't gonna bother with SNME, then they shouldn't bring it back at all. It shouldn't be that shocking that we get a full weekend of wrestling and this was gonna be the weak link. Bad enough, it had one too many ad breaks. 1/10"

It wasn't a classic by any means but it was a serviceable bout that ensured Goldberg's run didn't end with a whimper. Orton/McIntyre served more as an angle to set up the SummerSlam tag match but did its' job well enough, and Solo/Jimmy delivered an entertaining match with heavy interference as predicted. Rollins/Knight was ticking along nicely before Rollins' injury which forced the early finish."

And it's even more pathetic when this show added to NXT's and Evolution's the next day is only there to steal the buzz around AEW and All In."

And Naomi and Cargill are once again hyping their match at Evolution next night. Bringing in Belair as a special ref is a convincing move. What Sikoa and Jimmy Uso then show is hardly worth mentioning, which I regret. The injury to Rollins perhaps even prevents a higher-value win for LA Knight, which could explain why he's so unhappy at the end. In the last, I'm happy that the title didn't actually go to Goldberg, because I would have thought the people in charge were capable of it. The match is a farewell with the rest of the WCW legend in the tank and that should have been it. Overall, this show doesn't make a good impression at all."

LA Knight vs Seth was ended early cause of injury. I hope he recovers. Now SummerSlam changes. Main event was bad. Such a slow match to accommodate Goldberg and he still looked gassed a few minutes in."

"I think that show was really not good. First of all - only 4 matches, but when we look for matches itself - maybe its good that it was only 4. Drew vs Randy - its only a build up for celebrity match. That was dumb - Profesionall Wrestlers and stars of the buisness were only a background for celebrity and ok - Logan is very good wrestler but why Jerry? That was nonsense. 2/10 Jimmy vs Solo - the only biggesr problem i had was that ending with roll-up. Solo as a leader was still show as a weak guy - its not good but overall nice to see and corkscrew by Jimmy - beauty. 6/10 Seth - Knigh i share without a rating because Injury case Seth again. He need to change something because if after simple jumping his knees are goes out, then what will happe in next? Hope he's be ok . Main event - Goldberg thankfully look nice like for him, and he try to deliver good show and wrestling. Gunther as gunther - very solid, and he look good as a persona so i hope he got something good. 6/10. Show itself was destroyed by comercials and big minus i shared for cutting last speech from Goldberg - he deserve to last goodbye to the people watching him around the world. Overall - 2.5/10. Worst SNME of the year."

"Not going to lie, I didn't expect much from this show, was only interested in seeing Goldberg's last match. Drew Vs. Orton was to short and just a build up to another stupid celebrity involvement match at Summerslam. Rollins Vs. Knight could have been better, if not for Seth's legitimate knee injury. Solo Vs. Jimmy was boring and probably needed a Jey Uso save at the end to make things more interesting. Then the main event, Gunther Vs. Goldberg was OK but very predictable, I was expecting a more physical contest and having Goldberg being beaten by a sleeper hold was stupid, made him look like a bitch."

Insgesamt sehr langweilig. Das einzige was beeindruckt war, der Jackhammer (**)."

Drew vs Randy was ok. Post match angle got the crowd hyped up. Jade vs Naomi brawl was great as well. Plus we saw Bianca return to a humongous pop. Seth injured himself in what was a good match. Last match was the best imo. Gunther vs Goldberg was a satisfying retirement match."

[6.0] "Having watched the show on replay and skipped the commercials, the show was pretty decent. People should stop calling it a PLE, it's not a PLE. This semi-PLE was better than the last one. The Orton/Drew was the least good match of the night. While the match was okay, the ending sucks. Drew losing like that is terrible. The officiating of the match at Summerslam is infamy. Logan, Randy and Drew deserve better than Being mixed up with a singer. I liked the Naomi/Cargill segment with Belair being made official as a special referee. Couldn't have picked a better special referee. Belair is the best placed and it gives the match at Evolution a bit of extra interest. The Solo/Jimmy match was pretty cool. Jimmy finally woke up to his wrestling. The end was good with Solo beating Jimmy with Hikuleo. Jacob's return was good. Rollins/Knight. How sad. The match was really good but the injury ruined it. I hope Rollins comes back soon because we know he's number 1 right now. Knight's win is pleasing even if it wasn't expected. Goldberg/Gunther was above expectations. It went by fast, Goldberg was clean in the ring, Gunther conserves and the crowd was there. Even if his return in 2016 degraded his image, Goldberg will remain a wrestler who left his mark on the wrestling world. Now Evolution."

In terms of matches, there really wasn't much to see here and the main thing that made me tune in was seeing Goldberg's retirement. The match itself was better than I expected, but still not great, given Goldberg's age. Seth's injury was really unfortunate and I hope he recovers soon."

Goldberg's retirement speech getting interrupted by commercials is just insulting. None of the matches are worth watching in fact the Goldberg match is probs the most entertaining one which is ridiculous to say. Feel bad for Seth hope his injury isn't anything too serious. Randy & Jelly Roll v Drew & Logan is such a stupid match. Randy & Drew deserve so much better. Fuck TKO. This is the worst WWE has been since Early 2022."

Good trademarks but a super fast match with nothing interesting in it. An interesting second match between Jimmy and Solo, issue is that it was too short we wanted to see more bud sadly it was cut short by a foot in the A$$ by one of the bloodline member who helped Solo winning ! Jimmy really delivered. Knight vs Seth, good start with Knight's domination, good moves, bit of a weird finish where Seth gets injured but Knight gets the win. Golberg vs Gunther, not an awful match, tanks god Gunther wins but by making Goldberg sleep, a submission that lasted for 6 seconds you can almost hear Golberg asking not to lose by pinfall or by tapping ahah. Overall a very mid PLE so a mid rating"

The opener clearly served more as setup than a true showcase, the U.S. Title match resembled something you'd see headlining an episode of SmackDown, and while the main event avoided disaster, it didn't exactly elevate the night. LA Knight vs. Seth Rollins has potential, though it could go either way. Nothing here was outright bad, but it lacked the kind of standout content that makes a show feel essential. A decent watch if you're keeping up weekly, but not one that demands your time."

If Josh Barnett appearing in WWE and Goldberg wrestling for 14 minutes (we've seen probably half of them) in 2025 are the best things of the whole show there's a problem. Seth's injury is the worst thing that could've happened to WWE. Giving only 8 minutes to Randy and Drew and with the sole purpose of building the least desired match of Summerslam history (Undertaker vs Undertaker, I'm sorry) makes me mad. I won't say anything about Jimmy vs Solo because it felt so useless, predictable and avoidable that I've already erased that from my mind, just don't give us Jacob Fatu vs Tala Tonga now. I hope that the SNME reboot experiment doesn't continue in 2026"

It doesn't feel special anymore. The commercials are annoying and it ended in a weird way. Of course Seth got legit hurt and now everything is going to change right before summerslam. The matches are so basic and nothing besides Seth's injury came out of this. In a day full of wrestling all over this was once again the weakest show that took place"
