1123.04.2025Open The Vault6.0This edition of WWE's Saturday Night's Main Event was almost as good as the last one, I enjoyed the consistency that was put across the card in general. Not as interesting in terms of how the card looked but it ended up working out. We had matches like Ripley vs. Jax, Sheamus vs. Breakker, Strowman vs. Fatu, Gunther vs. Jey Uso all had some quality and memorability to it. My favorite part of the night was the contract signing between Cody Rhodes and Kevin Owens. I felt it added pretty well to the story and it ended with me being excited for their match at the Royal Rumble. I'm looking forward to the next SNME -- despite it being 2 hours, they've proven to deliver on NBC. [***1/4]

2705.02.2025ejr63097.0Good show, didn't have any expectation whatsoever so I really wasn't that disappointed in it, good matches, although it upsets me that none of them are canon. The contract signing was pretty good too.

3831.01.2025DanTalksRasslin7.0A really solid short-form show with a solid match lineup. Breakker vs Sheamus for the IC Title was the best of the lot. In the main event, Gunther vs Jey was also solid, and probably among the better singles matches I've seen from Jey, who I'm still not sold on outside the tag ranks. Ripley vs Jax was fine, with no surprise in the results. And Fatu vs Strowman was decent enough while it lasted, though its main purpose was the post-match attack angle by Fatu, which more than accomplished its goal in making Fatu look like an absolute monster. The contract signing segment was fine, though I'm not the biggest fan of the heat at the end of the segment going to the retired HBK rather than one of the actual participants in the upcoming match for the top title (I get it, though, it was a hometown moment for HBK). While this didn't go all-out for PPV quality, it was never intended to be; it instead accomplished its goal of being an enjoyable hour and a half of wrestling that got several of its participants and stories over going into the Rumble.

4231.01.2025BoltsFan21326.0A fun night of action and though these are basically glorified house shows the Breakker/Sheamus match really stood out for me personally and was easily the match of the night. The Jacob Fatu beat down was great and really got him over and the main event sent the fans home happy with Gunther doing his thing and Uso really having a solid performance. 3 star show.

5029.01.2025AnsonCaged5.0A warning to WWE that this had more of a "Battle of the Belts" feel than the previous. It risks becoming inessential viewing if every match is predictable and the stakes are low. Good enough matches, but with no surprises and no investment, it was hard to get too invested.

5529.01.2025Rassle Fan5.0A lot of hype for what amounts to a poor man's episode of Raw or Smackdown. Jesse Ventura is still a wild ride on commentary in a good way. He counters the consistency terrible Pat McAfee. The matches were ok but all so predictable. I'm glad I didn't watch this live.

5729.01.2025Lukeathon6.0Another SNME in the books, another very mid show. I'd say it's still an issue with figuring out the timings on this shorter show, but I'd also attribute it to the fact that 3 of the 4 matches didn't make any sense as to why they put them on this show. Rhea Ripley VS Nia Jax was done nearly exactly a year ago, and Nia Jax had also declared for the Rumble, so it's obvious she wouldn't be winning this. Very decent match to be fair, obvious result with Rhea winning, will be interested to see Rhea's next feud. Bron Breakker VS Sheamus was another pretty great match and Jesse Ventura is honestly such a breath of fresh air on commentary! But again, wrong time to do this in my opinion, there's still nearly 3 whole months until WM41 where I expect to see Sheamus finally win the big one so how they drag this out until then I don't know. Bron Breakker needs more people to feud with than Sheamus, Ludwig and Jey Uso. Cody and KO had their contract signing... After the match had been announced, great to see HBK there and tuning up the band once again, nothing else to say on this tbh. Braun Strowman VS Jacob Fatu in Jacob's 2nd singles match in WWE, now usually I wouldn't be a fan of him losing by DQ, but the post-match attack was more than enough to make up for this. Made Fatu look like a monster, but he does admittedly need to start picking up some singles wins to be taken seriously when he breaks away from Solo. Main event time! It's the exact same opinion as the Womens World Title match here, Jey Uso shouldn't have declared for the Rumble beforehand, and it's basically the exact same feud they had this time last year except again Gunther is being booked to look like a fool as World Champion. I honestly kind of hate it, but hope that his reign gets much better in the buildup to WM41. Another pretty decent match but that Spear by Jey was awful especially considering Bron Breakker is on the same show. Overall it was another passable show but you'd have missed absolutely nothing if you decided not to watch, I fear that that's what is going to happen at all future SNME events.
5829.01.2025liorb19855.0If I needed more proof, Saturday night's show proved why I prefer the three-hour shows. The commercial breaks kill the enjoyment of the in-ring action, especially the main event. Bron vs. Sheamus was the night's best match, while the rest of the card disappointed me. The contract signing was fun. All sides played their parts perfectly, especially Shawn Michaels.

6329.01.2025sarahlicity5.0This should've been a house show, really. Whilst marginally better at points than the first attempt before Christmas, the sophomore edition still suffers from the "all style, no substance" issues of that attempt: predictable matches that are half-hidden behind commercial breaks, slimmed down because NBC really needs to get the SNL re-run on the air at 10pm sharp. You honestly could've slotted all of the segments and matches into the editions of Raw and/or Smackdown either side of this weekend, and those shows would've been better for it. It's not a strike-out by any means; more like a forced out at first base. Which is disappointing when, ideally, these should be double plays. Hopefully, next weekend is going to be much better, but if I'm being honest, the past few Rumbles have also been disappointing. Not as large as the crossroads WWE found themselves at a year ago, but still an unclear turning point.

7128.01.2025Prince Osborne7.0Compared to the previous SNME, this edition inclined more towards creating high moments instead of delivering quality matches, because of the Rumble being around the corner. And, that's completely fine as this theme used to be like that in the past. Bron and Sheamus' killer match & Fatu's monstrous assault after his match were the key moments to take away, while Rhodes and Owens had their final words in an intense segment. There was zero expectation for a newsworthy moment, but it was still a fun-filled event that mattered so much. 7.5 out of 10 points!
7228.01.2025AJN77.0A really enjoyable wrestling show. I have no doubt that the chronically online losers will complain about SNME being a glorified house show etc, but that doesn't mean that the show wasn't entertaining - it absolutely was.

7928.01.2025BigReedus7.0Falls a little below the first SNME for me, but still a tight show with solid wrestling. A bit of throat-clearing before the Rumble. Kevin Owens cannot do anything wrong right now.

8228.01.2025RestlingThots They have to make at least one title change on one of these events, otherwise SNME risks becoming another The Battle of the Belts - an irrelevant querterly TV show. We are only two shows in, but it already starting to feel like one. The only match worth your time was Fatu vs Strowman, as an example of how you present, create, and establish a new alpha male of your roster. Sure, they basically copied the Bronson Reed playbook, but it worked - again. Kudos to Braun for putting over Jacob and making him look like a real S.O.B. in just one match, or rather in just one post-match beating. It's amusing how Braun was officially declared the winner of the match - usually WWE would call it a "No Contest". I guess, they didn't want to completely bury The Monster of All Monsters, and decided to save his face at least a bit by granting him with this win, even if only on paper.
8328.01.2025Smi-486.0Ripley always creates a good atmosphere and therefore it's not so obvious that this is more of an exhibition match than a hurdle for them. Sheamus tests Breakker, but let's be honest, there would be a lot more in it if the good Bron was a step or two ahead in his development. There's another contract signing, this time between Owens and Rhodes and overseen by Shawn Michaels. The Canadian sprays guft and bile, even in the direction of the hometown hero Michaels, but in the end has to realize that he may have lost his smile once, but at least today he has probably found his Sweet Chin Music again. Jacon Fatu is an absolute steal and gets the corresponding reactions. Strowman hasn't been played this badly in ages. The title defense of Gunther is obligatory in my eyes, so that there are hardly any lasting accents beyond the Strowman developments and the HBK involvement. But the action is consistently presentable.

9227.01.2025Blueskiescoming7.0There was no fat on this one. Just 90 mins of solid wrestling. All the matches went at a breakneck pace and kept me interested, and nothing outstayed its welcome. Nothing mind-blowing, but an easy and enjoyable watch. Maybe time to ditch Ventura, because despite the nostalgia, he was a detraction.
9327.01.2025WallstMoney6.0I think this show was okay it wasn't some insane PPV that anyone is gonna look back on it was just a house show i did like the Cody and Kevin segment which kind of went on too long. The Bron Breaker match was really good but that's about it. 6/10 Also fuck the ads.
9427.01.2025Jamildo26.0Trying to watch this on YouTube may have taken years off of my life. For the love of whichever deity, can they please get this onto Netflix so it is made somewhat tolerable. In the main, the show was bang average just like last time. The highlight for me was Michael Cole's commentary which was particularly outstanding at times. Otherwise, a generous 6. Nice to see Shawn taking a moment to get himself and his finisher over. He CLEARLY needed to hit the guy who is supposed to be a legitimate challenger for the world title in a way that makes Owens look weak for no reason. That was a brilliant idea.

9727.01.2025ReverseFlash20028.0I think this was a pretty good show and a very fun show for a Saturday night. I get people complaining about no title changes or anything but there was no need to crown new champions just for the sake of it and all the champions did not need to lose there titles right now. Rhea Vs Nia had a good fun match, Bron Vs Sheamus to me was the match of the night, I really enjoyed the Cody, KO & HBK segment which they had HBK hit a sweet chin music! Fatu Vs Braun was a good match and I thought they did the match good with the finish to build up Fatu even more and protect Braun a little bit to avoid getting pinned. The main event was a decent match it got really going towards the end but overall a fun show for a Saturday night and sometimes I feel like fans should just enjoy a show without thinking too much about big expectations.
