| 1 | 06.12.2024 | DanTalksRasslin | 6.0 | WPW's return after a rather long hiatus featured lots of what you'd expect from the promotion - random, absurdist humor with wrestlers with ridiculous gimmicks and often even more ridiculous costumes. It's not the kind of promotion you'd watch to see objectively great in-ring action, but if you want a good laugh - and there are lots to be had - this is your place. With so much craziness going on, the fact that at one point two completely normal wrestlers, Bad Dude Tito and Eli Everfly, have a completely normal (and pretty good) match might be the most bizarre thing of all. Simone Williams also had a good showing in her debut for the company, playing the "normal" half of a bout against WPW mainstay Chick-a-Dee (who, yes, wrestles in a chicken suit). Also debuting was Pizzaface, who may well be my new favorite wrestler - just hope he has a speedy recovery after having his cheese ripped off by the CenoBites. The main event featured Dylan Nash of the band Liily teaming with Cereal Man against the Fourmage Horsemen; Nash had a decent showing for a non-wrestler and his heel turn was genuinely unexpected and well done. I don't know that this was quite as strong overall as WPW's previous show (RussellMania 3 way back in March 2023), and oddly none of the WPW titles were defended, but there's some definite fun to be had here if this is your kind of thing. |
