[5.0] "This was alright. The ring work was unremarkable, but I did enjoy the Giant laying everyone out at the end. The Dungeon of Doom seems to mercifully be on its last legs, and I could not be happier. Ric Flair continues to be entertaining as world champion, and the lack of Hulk Hogan was a welcome reprieve from his usually overbearing obnoxiousness. Overall, an okay show. Nothing to write home about, but nothing worth getting frustrated about either."

[8.0] "I really don't think it's a coincidence that the most entertaining Nitro that happened in weeks was also the one where Hogan was absent. The storylines are pretty good with the Flair-Macho feud continuing to escalate and the main event is strong and chaotic where Flair also ends up in a rivalry with The Giant because he has to rampantly cheat to get in any offence at all in the match with the chaotic ending leading to a fall out between the Giant and the Taskmaster. It also continues the fun Luger and Sting dynamic in the tag team title match as well. Barring one match, the match quality was consistently good to watch, which made the show a breeze to sit through."

[8.0] "Very enjoyable nitro that was very wrestling heavy. Solid matches between Finlay and Savage and Konan and Mr JL. The tag match with sting and Lex, watching their dynamic continue to grow was entertaining as always. Flair and the giant was ok with that typical messy WCW-style finish, but the best Nitro of the year to this point."

[2.0] "Another attempt by WCW to focus on wrestling > story segments ends up disappointing once again. Every single match on this show was a completely undeveloped throwaway, and there weren't any fun or even ironically fun promos, interviews, or pre-tape segments to soften that blow. Apart from Bruiser's nicely aggressive strikes, Savage vs Bruiser was a very formulaic Savage match, with Savage getting smashed for ages before making a sudden and convenient comeback at the very end for the win. Yet another WCW example of star power sadly superseding actual wrestling skills. Savage has still yet to show anything good his entire Nitro run thus far. **. Flair's interview with Mean Gene was his usual immensely unhinged but still somewhat enjoyable work. Konnan vs JL was a bunch of technically sound but half-hearted agile and high-flying exchanges, all of which were very underwhelming because the crowd didn't care one bit for either guy, even when they slightly upped their pace and creativity. **. Inferno vs Booty was a completely embarrassing squash. Awful but at least very short. NR. Luger & Sting vs American Males featured a bunch of low-effort athletic spots. An okay side-story was told where Sting was being respectful to their opponents while Luger was being pretty bratty and arrogant. Still not a very good match. **. Flair vs The Giant completed the streak of bad matches, solidifying this show as totally without value. Flair was in heavy melodramatic over-selling mode here, which was hit and miss for whether it was entertaining or annoyingly goofy. The Giant's offence was still very limited and uninspired, so I guess it was at least good that Flair was selling so ridiculously in order to try make Giant's offence feel more interesting. Flair got a bit of his decent offence in, and The Giant actually started to show some nicely energetic bumping and decent selling, but then that all got derailed as a bunch interference occurred to rule the match a DQ. Yet another pretty bad match, not that I expected much to begin with. **. There was genuinely nothing worth going back and watching on this show. Not a single match or segment was interesting or exciting. I appreciated WCW trying to focus more on wrestling instead of long promos, post-match angles, and pre-tape segments, but I should have figured that they would still just stick to their immensely low-effort match structures and rule that good decision completely void."

Konnan/Lynn was better than I expected and was actually a great little match, and the main event was really good too, I particularly liked the chaotic ending if I'm being honest. Luger and Sting is a brilliant pairing, Savage/Finlay was very solid. Yes, Disco/Beefcake stunk, but at least it was short!"

Randy Savage vs Finlay is good, and the only horrible match is Booty Man vs Disco Inferno, that lasts only one minute. Great stuff from the tag team division."
