[9.0] "What an episode of Raw! All of it just connected so well. The in ring and out of ring work. Opening bout was fast paced, well worked and a great angle with the surprise booking. All the women's matches did what was needed of them, with IYO & Natalya bring real credibility to the tournament. A good win for Lyra who worked well. Ivy Nile still has a way to go but sold the finisher of Zoey Stark like a champ! Ilja, who I am not the biggest fan of, and Ricochet had the match of the night and delivered well above what was expected of them! Gable/Reed was botchy in it's short run time but the after DQ work built well. Great promo work from Drew, Punk and even Kofi! Becky Lynch and Liv also starting to fuel the fire, though not as captivating. Gunther and Sheamus in the main event going on to show they continue to deliver banger.. after banger. Both the King and Queen of the Ring tournaments feel important again thanks to this booking and this episode of Raw."

Natalya v Sky was a pretty good match as well and gave the chance to show Natalya can still go abit...even though it helped that she was in the ring with someone as good as Iyo"

Dragunov and Ricochet had a great match and Uso vs Finn was very good. Truth was hilarious as always, Judgement Day had a good promo and Punk had a very fun one as well."

[8.0] "This episode of Raw was actually really good, coming off another great PLE that was Backlash the previous Saturday, the start of both the King and Queen of the Ring Tournaments were great with 2 absolutely incredible matches here with the main event clash between Gunther and Sheamus which was as Sheamus woukd say another banger and Ilja vs. Ricochet being one of my favorite non WWE PLE Matches in a while and an absolutely tremendous match. The Dakota Kai and Lyra Valkyria match was really great if not a little short, we had some pretty decent and predictable first 2 matches with Finn Bálor vs. Jey Uso and IYO SKY vs. Natalya and that goddamn CM Punk promo segment was a bit long and drawn out but still enjoyable. This episode of Raw had some massive highlights and it also had its low moments but it was a really good show overall."
Prince Osborne wrote on 15.05.2024:
[8.0] "The King & Queen of The Ring tournament matches shaped this episode of Raw as one of the all-round bangers in a while. The debutants from NXT had an awesome night of showcasing their best with the time given as well as the main event being an extraordinary cap-off to their trilogy of one-on-one duels. On the side of storylines, Judgment Day's rift was nicely discussed as the opening promo which burns the endgame slowly, followed by a concrete setup for Lynch and Zayn's title defenses for the Saudi spectacle. Punk's promo was not his best, but it served as a sly burn on Drew's actions at the start of the night. Overall, the hype for K&QOTR is building up nicely through the right people advancing in the tourney and pitting matches that look strong and sensible on paper."
FrightenedRabbit wrote on 14.05.2024:
[9.0] "Outstanding RAW show, probably the best of the year, balancing promos and stories well with the in-ring action, definitely the K/QOTR helped in that aspect. Finn vs Jey was somewhat disappointing, more is expected from Jey as an individual competitor and Finn once again facing defeats although he seems to have a face turn around the corner. IYO always means quality and Natalya looked good, excellent introduction to Dragunov and Ricochet demonstrating that quality that many forget he has. The Stark vs Zoey match was the worst of the night, slow and short; I remain skeptical about Reed's inclusion in the Gable and Sami feud. Valkyria also looked good in her debut although the ending was disappointing, she needs a new finisher. Finally, Gunther and Sheamus delivering another excellent match as it couldn't be otherwise."

[8.0] "You knew that this would be an insane episode of Raw just from the card announcement before hand, and it did not disappoint. Ilya and Lyra both made their Raw debuts, with Ilya showing why he has so much hype and praise behind him. Lyra looked fine, but we should hopefully see more from her as the QotR bracket continues. Gunther and Sheamus put on a banger as expected, crazy we got so many quality matches on an episode of Raw. The promos felt fine and continued to build Punk/Drew, but it would of been nice to see them interact directly. The build into K&QotR making Becky/Liv official and Gable/Reed/Zayn becoming a triple threat was expected and both should be fun to watch play out in the run up to K&QotR."

For me the exceptional strength of this episode was once again the little improvements in the presentation. The increase in the recording of the crowd was noticeable. Granted, it also showed that the noises of bored crowd aren't pretty, but overall for the big reactions it was worth it."

Yes, It has its issues and for some might be a turn away but overall in my opinion, RAW is a show you want to be watching currently. We got some good matches like IYO vs. Natalya, Dragunov vs. Ricochet & Gunther vs. Sheamus. The only gripe that I have is the women's wrestling portion of the show, it was sub-par and the crowd didn't have a reason to care. 8/10"

Sheamus were just beautiful and also brutal matches that I just loved I can't say I had high hopes for king of the ring but these matches proved me wrong and now I have huge high hopes for KOTR my only complaint is that the QOTR matches were not good but that really it so great job."

[8.0] "Really good episode of RAW mostly built around the King of the Ring tournaments. Jey vs Finn was a fine opener with a hot crowd, IYO got a good win against Natalya in a pretty fun match, Lyra had a solid enough showcase against Dakota, Ricochet/Dragunov was a really good sprint as with a lot of intensity and of course MOTN was the main Event. Gunther and Sheamus had a really physical match with a lot of strikes and Imperium working over the knee to get the advantage and the win. I'd say it was better than anything on Backlash. Ivy vs Zoey was the only match that didn't quite work for me, not counting Gable/Reed which was just a setup for the IC title triple threath which sounds great. None of the promo were incredibly memorable but they all worked well for what they were trying to do"

[9.0] "A great Raw with for its standard a lot of In ring action which hopefully becomes more of norm in WWE especially with the talent present. the two standout matches were in my opinion Ilja vs Ricochet and Gunther vs Sheamus which were great for two different reasons while the former felt like a constant sugar rush with high paced non stop action the latter was just hard hitting two big men slapping each other. hopefully this leads to the Raw final being Gunther vs Ilja. Iyo vs Natty was also a really good match and showcased Iyo's ability really well and i would like her to go far in this tournament maybe even to the final. Jey Uso has ultimate levels of aura and charisma but his in ring ability is always underwhelming not bad per se but also not good or great just perfectly average with the opening match being just above average which i wouldve liked to see fin but am not mad Jey winning.both the other womans matches were also average or slightly above average with Lyra vs Dakota being the better of the two. The Gable Bronson and Sami segment was good and furthered the story while the becky liv and Damage Ctrl interaction also built towards something but i wouldve liked to see then do something different. The CM Punk promo while still being good felt like something we have heard before overall this Raw for me gets a 9/10"

[8.0] "As good as this episode was, it could've been so much better. The CM Punk promo was meandering and way too long (he literally said he would hold the show hostage), lacked the heat of last week's awesome Drew/Punk promos (did we even NEED another promo this week, given that that feud is already very well established, and Drew & Punk won't be fighting anytime soon), and was confusing because Punk said he would stay out until Drew showed up... then Drew didn't show up, and Punk left anyway. Additionally, the Becky Lynch segment took way longer than it needed to (I get that they want to advance the stories with Liv and also Damage CTRL, but why all the crap with Michael Cole interviewing her and chatting up her Kentucky Derby outfit? ), and the Gable/Reed match was irritating because Sami interrupted it so early, and that feud has also already been pretty well established. Why not cut some of this stuff and include the two King/Queen of the Ring matches that we didn't have time to televise? BUT, all that being said... most of the KOTR/QOTR matches were good, and we had to legitimate bangers in Sheamus/Gunther (I couldn't BELIEVE that handprint, complete with finger definition, that Gunther left on Sheamus' back! ) and especially Ricochet/Dragunov. For my money, both of those matches were better than anything from Backlash, INCLUDING Rhodes/Styles. It was so great to hear the crowd go from relatively quiet because they didn't know Dragunov, to going absolutely INSANE when he showed them what he could do. He's going to be a huge star. (It's too bad Stark/Nile had no haet at all, and Lyra Valkyria didn't get over nearly as much as WWE clearly hoped she would...) So yeah, I had my issues with this episode, but I feel like I can't give less than 8 point to an episode with two certifiable bangers like this one had in Ricochet/Gradunov and Gunther/Sheamus..."

[9.0] "This is everything I want from RAW and more. It felt like a real showcase of the RAW rosters star power especially on the men's side and considering the names that have not had a match tonight. SMACKDOWN will have a real struggle loading that side of the bracket to match the pure in ring talent. 2 genuine MOTY contenders on the same cards as well as a superb IYO Nat match. The other matches around were solid enough and the promos and segments pushed all the stories forward. I am desperate to watch a ILJA vs GUNTHER match again and WWE would have badly fumbled if we do not get that. I am interested to see how Jey gets on vs ILJA next week as for me his ring works need that push and I think ILJA can get the best out of him. All in all my favourite episode of television in a long time."

"A decent start to both the KOTR & QOTR tournament. I liked Iyo/Natalya as we kinda got to see flashes of Nattie at her peak when she was actually allowed to showcase her technical ability and Iyo was great as always. I liked Ilja/Ricochet a lot but that was to be expected as Ilja never has a bad match. Gunther/Sheamus was great too even if it felt like they ran out of time towards the end. I didn't mind Jey Uso vs Balor but we just saw that last week and it was nothing super interesting. Overall, it was a pretty good show and I never felt the show drag at any point. Excited to see more of the tournament."

[8.0] "An overally decent episode of RAW with some good matches with a banger of a main event, overall the majority of the segments were of an acceptable standard. Jey Uso vs Finn Balor: While it was a decent back and forth match, it felt like there was something lacking that could have made this match get to that next level, Uso winning was the right choice [**3/4]. IYO SKY vs Natalya: Natalya had a decent showing here but SKY showed that she more in the tank to win, the chemistry here was more than I thought it would have been, they had a great contested match [***1/4]. Ilja Dragunov vs Ricochet: An awesome encounter between these two, the intensity was insane throughout, their styles stylistically complemented each other with the hard hitting Dragunov and the high flying style of Ricochet, should have had more time though but still worth a watch [****1/4]. Zoey Stark vs Ivy Nile: A match that could not get out of first gear due to the time constraints and there being limited chemistry in this one, Stark getting the win was obvious but would like to have seen Nile win [**]. Chad Gable vs Bronson Reed: A short 2 minute match that ended in a no contest, should have been booked differently [*]. Lyra Valkyria vs Dakota Kai: A match that could have benefited from having more time as it was fine as it was but could have been better, an okay RAW debut match for Lyra Valkyria [**1/4]. Gunther vs Sheamus: A match that was on par with their Clash At The Castle 2022 match, it was as highly physical match as expected and it delivered, one of the best matches ive seen on RAW in a long time [*****]"

[6.0] "Pretty much a decent Raw, I know everyone says this was perfect but I don t think so. Started off pretty well with the Judgment Days promo, then Finn vs Jey was not the greatest like at all. CM Punks promo was my highlight of the night. I liked the IYO SKY/Natalya match, showed that Natalya could still go. Ilja vs Ricochet was pretty good. Zoey/Ivy was very bleh. Chad vs Bronson picked up but then ended in a DQ but in a way that is fine since they already have their triple threat at Saudi. Becky & Livs promo was decent I guess, nothing too special just felt kind of dull. Dakota vs Lyra was decent, and the main event was the match of the night. This was a pretty decent episode of Raw, nothing too special for me."

[8.0] "This was definitely a solid show, and given it was the first after a Backlash and not a build to a Mania card like the last strong Raw I have to give it to them here. Multiple angles, strong production (the team doing tons of long shots as if to spite Dunn for years of quick cuts), two really great matches, multiple other good matches, and mostly good promos. Oddly enough, the weakest promo had to be Punk's in-ring one, mostly because he could only get pops for sports references and had his reference to another company completely bomb."

[7.0] "This week's Monday Night Raw was a decent show. Sure, it had its ups and downs, but all in all, it was an entertaining one. The in-ring action was highlighted by the amazing main event as well as the spectacular match between Dragunov & Ricochet. The Queen of the Ring matches were okay, nothing more nothing less. Jey vs. Finn was good, but far from the level of Saturday's match against El Campeon Damian Priest. As for the nonwrestling segments I enjoyed CM Punk's promo (he's so good with the mic), as well as Awesome Truth's backstage segment. Becky's interview and confrontation with Liv were meh. The least favorable part for me was the Intercontinental Championship-related "match" and brawl. For me, it served absolutely no purpose. Drew McIntyre's backstage segment didn't feel like something at all."
Frank Shooter wrote on 07.05.2024:
[7.0] "On one hand, this was the worst planned show since Vince McMahon left. They wanted to make all first round matches right here with also giving time to develop stories outside the tournaments. I think those other stories could've waited one week to be developed, with the exception of Drew vs Punk for being far greater than anything else on the show at this moment. The Triple Threat for the IC Title is really forced and uninteresting. I don't like how they booked Chad Gable to be the heel when he should've been the one to dethrone Gunther, and it's even worse how they added Bronson Reed into a grudge feud with no hatred towards either men and just wanting the title. Doesn't make sense at all. Liv getting her chance at the PPV was obvious, and while I liked how Becky put over the newest RAW adquisitions (specially Alba Fyre, who has been treated like shit when she was, in fact, the longest reigning women's champion of the modern era. Yeah, she was champion for that long because of COVID, but that doesn't mean she wasn't a big deal in development), Liv's part of the segment was so lame and she looked to me like a cheap imitation of Drew McIntyre (babyface slowly turning heel because the world is against them). Those were the low points of a show that could've been and should've been better. I know most people basically rate things based on one or two relevant moments in the show (the Main Event, Dragunov vs Ricochet, CM Punk's promo), but as a whole, the show still had it's mediocre moments here and there (Jey Uso vs Finn Bálor, Lyra vs Dakota, Zoey vs Ivy). The three big parts of the show really fulfilled with the expectations (Gunther vs Sheamus is being overrated though. Great match indeed, but nowhere near the ratings people are giving. It lacked depth and more constant storytelling to truly be that great). Ilja Dragunov's debut was perfect. First official main roster match, he put himself over with one of the best TV performances I've seen in a long time, truly making everything in the match matter and delivering his trademark intensity and lethal blows. Ricochet could've gone further with his performance, but he did a great job in the match and putting Ilja over. Natalya vs Io Shirai was also a pretty good match, good mix of styles although lacking of intensity at times. Then CM Punk's promo was as good as usual. One more chapter in his psychological war with Drew. I don't think their eventual match is going to be that good in the ring, but no one will care about that. Everyone will be waiting to see how both of them want to kill each other."

[9.0] "Amazing show to watch. The first raw post draft had me intrigued and expectant. The show starts with a Judgment Day promo, not a bad way to start raw. Then Adam Pearce announces that Jey Uso is going to participate in the King of the Ring tournament. The first match of the night is Balor vs Jey, which was a decent combat. After the match Punk and Drew were continuing building his feud into good angles and a Punk's promo. I was surprised by the match between Iyo and Natalya, they did a great job. Iyo is an incredible wrestler with her aerial style and Natalya is a veteran who knows how to work very well with the majority. And then Ilja and Ricochet did one of the best TV matches of the year, their different styles made a PPV match in a weekly show. The second match of Dragunov in Raw was so much better than his match with Nakamura. The least good match of the night was Zoey vs Ivy a short match with no much highlights to remember. I felt very good watching the stories of Liv vs Becky and the triple threat match between Bronson Sami and Chad, well done. Lyra makes her debut against Dakota in a match which the two were doing interesting spots. And finally the main event, Sheamus and Gunther had a very physical match, with the story of a Sheamus being hurt, I like when Gunther finish the match with all the ways such as lariat, powerbomb or a submission move like he did to Sheamus. Great show"

"Very enjoyable episode of Raw. This is the first time in over a decade that the king(and now queen) of the ring tournaments have felt exciting and relevant. I was personally a bigger fan of the Ilja/Ricochet match over Gunther/Sheamus 2, simply because Ive seen Sheamus and Gunther battle multiple times already. The Drew and CM Punk segment was very well done. I love when there are zero camera cuts in a segment. Iyo Sky showed why she is a former world champion. Im glad both womens matches were given ample time to tell simple stories. Beckys promo started off very directionless, but Liv elevated the segment considerably. Overall, like I said, very enjoyable show that absolutely flew by. 9/10!"

WWE seem to have taken the criticism of how bad Queen's Crown 2021 was and gave us more women's wrestling tonight than the entire tournament three years ago; even Ivy Nile hung out longer in the first round as a new call-up having a baptism of fire than Doudrop had as a tournament finalist. Dragunov/Ricochet and Gunther/Sheamus were also incredible matches, but what else can you expect? I've long been a proponent of just letting the talent do what they do best, and they did that tonight. Really good showing."

Iljia Dragunov vs Ricochet was another great match, more in the style of a 2018/2019 NXT Takeover, I just hope Dragunov is ok after that nasty superplex where he spiked his head, need to see a rematch on PPV someday. Io Skye vs Natalya was pretty good and by far the best women's match on the show, as the other 2 matches didn't really clicked, Zoey Stark and Lyra Valkyria kinda disappointed me. What I don't like about the show is they've false advertised 2 matches, and Kofi vs Rey Mysterio could have been another great one on the card, but instead we got CM Punk and Becky Lynch doing long and boring promos (that Punk entrance was dope tho) Chad Gable vs Bronson Reed started really good but of course they had to do the bs DQ at least once. Jey Uso was once again unimpressive outside of his entrance, if his next week's match with freakin Dragunov is another mid match, then I'm leaving that hype train."

R-truth still isn't very funny and bron should have been in the tournament, hopefully we get a reason why next week. another pointless segment with the ic title, nothing further from last week. sit down interview next was pointless until liv came out. the first part was pointless. Lyra then didn't have a great showing and kofi cut a great promo. Then the main event was incredible, with both kicking out of finishers. having matches the quality of Dragunov vs Ricochet and the main event makes this a perfect show however there were to many pointless segments that make this 9/10"

Cool kick into the ring apron from Natalya. 5.67 Ricochet Vs Illija Dragonov was awesome. Great sequences throughout and illija is so great at making wrestling feel real. 8.24 Zoey Stark Vs Ivy Nile was nothing. 5.0 Lyra Vs Dakota was pretty good. Some fairly painful looking moments carried, and the ending was kinda dull. But all in all these women put on a good show. 6.45 Gunther Vs Sheamus was pretty good, didnt do everything they could do to make a tv classic, but it was still fine. 7.45 Overall pretty good show with a consistent output in terms of in ring work, this tournament should be pretty great. Final Score 6.34 Good Show!"

They gave us ppv quality matches for free and honestky as a fan of pro wrestling I just feel spoiled. Gunther/Sheamus BANGER, ILJA/Ricochet BANGER. Can't wait for next week and I hope this quality on Monday night raw continues great stuff."

[7.0] "Well, instead of there being some fallout from Judgment Day's shenanigans at Backlash, Damien took them back with open arms. Didn't buy it, and it came out in the quality of the promo. Dirty Dom ain't long for this world, though. I know our guy isn't the brightest bulb, but bringing Carlito in the presence of Damien Priest after what happened last year and after the recent behavior toward outsiders is... a choice. Judgment Day and LWO tangling again isn't something I'm clamoring to see again so soon. CM Punk was great on the mic as usual, but the whole "take the show hostage" thing fell flat for me. I know they're waiting for everyone to get fully healthy, but the holding pattern this Drew/Punk thing is in is starting to wear thin at the moment. The other thing that didn't quite work was Becky's interview with Michael Cole. Kind of an awkward vibe and they were having a hard time filling the time before Liv's interruption. Those in-ring interviews with Cole work better with heels - Nia Jax was a great foil for him, for example. The show did make great use of video packages, backstage segments, and other interviews to hype up matches and storylines, and also keep folks in the mix who were not wrestling. Especially intrigued to see what they cook up next for Bron Breakker. The wrestling was really good. Multiple bangers and the whole tournament set-up has been really exciting and refreshing. Good to see matches already being booked with purpose for the upcoming PLE. This makes for a solid RAW, if not a consistently great one."

I don't think any match was considered to be bad, and we got two amazing matches in Ricochet/Dragunov and Sheamus/Gunther. The segment between Becky and Liv was well done, and sets the stage for Liv's (hopefully) ascension to Women's World Champion. My only nitpick was the Gable/Reed/Zayn segment that felt like a rehash from a few weeks prior. Other than that, a very good episode of Raw."

[7.0] "Good episode of RAW that has its issues in the middle of the show and the talking segments. The Punk promo was probably one of the weakest I've ever seen from him. He came into the ring, said he would just ramble until McIntyre comes back, and then did exactly that, talk for minutes without saying anything. Liv Morgan's booking is good, they make her not stupid by leaving Becky alone, a refreshing turn of events here. The main event was underwhelming for me like most recent Gunther matches, it didn't have anything special. The real highlight was Ilja Dragunov who had the Match of the Night with Ricochet. Everything from Stark/Nyle over Gable/Reed and Lyra/Dakota was very flat and I almost tuned out at that point."
