A couple of matches were fine but this was largely an episode on cruise control heading into mania except for the last segment. There's no way to really factor that into the rating since this is for match quality."

The opening Cody work is also great. Drew/Seth/Punk stuff is fantastic! So many good angles running at the same time. Ricochet/McDonagh is one of the raw matches of the year too. Not much else special in ring wise but this one was all about setting up the class in ring work for Mania."

[10.0] "yeah this might be the greatest episode of raw for a long time. the cody promo was excellent, less was more here and rock being there was a complete shock. the opener was so good, we need more ricochet. then punk came out and told us April knows his mouth works, talking about cornette, roman and the rock, he also lied about not being on the internet. drew then came out and dropped some great lines, calling himself the chosen one before punk asked him who game him that name, rollins then came out and the crowd hilariously booed than punk wasn't gonna be the ref, this was such an incredible promo segment, it didn't feel like wwe at all, it felt all natural and not scripted. we then had the only women's match on the card and the tag match ending in dq is classic raw. the women's title segment was excellent and was really needed to heat up the feud. sami losing is good because it develops the story. the main event was all about the closing angle. rock bildsided cody backstage and took him outside into the rain which made it so much better, he made cody bleed and cut a crazy promo on him while doing it. this is probably the greatest closing angle to raw ever. this is what happens when you fuck with the final boss"

[10.0] "Best Raw in years. Not only did we get three amazing promos, and that show closing angle, we also got that great Ricochet vs JD match and some nice storyline progression. To see some people describe this episode as mediocre or even bad is insane to me. We all know why we watch WWE. If you were looking for a three hour show of five star matches and came away disappointed then that is on you. If this was a NJPW show or a show that is explicitly marketed towards workrate fans then there would be issues with this show. But Raw has never been - and will never be - about that. It's written and marketed as a TV show first and foremost and the sooner people accept it, the sooner they can fully enjoy the show. Sure there can be great matches but those are bonuses and not to be expected. Premier matches - both in terms of quality and starpower - has always been saved for PPVs. And as a TV show about wrestling rather than a wrestling show filmed for TV, this was exceptional and among the best WWE has ever produced - including the Attitude Era."
Trombek Kushinika wrote on 04.04.2024:
[9.0] "Wow, best episode of Raw in years. Other than the main event all the other matches were either filler or contributed little to ongoing storylines. This show was about the promos - there were three too quality promo segments and a must see post match to the main event. Nice to see the fed bringing back the blade as well. And now theyve got me fired up for Rhea versus Becky at mania as well which was the only match over the two nights I was a little cold on. Watch this Raw, even if you skip the matches its still worth it."

[7.0] "It's always funny to see WWE shows get like 9-10 overall ratings for an episode, then look at the match scores and see flat 6s almost all the way down the card. That's a real indictment of people's priorities around here. Annnnnnnyways, this is not a bad episode, and the three way Rollins/Punk/Drew promo felt like three real people coming to some sort of bury-the-hatchet moment out of character, which was delightful. Rock's heel character is in full momentum and he's really found his footing in his role, but outside of those two segments, there's a lot of forgettable, barely over five minutes fluff on this card that no one will want to return to, and anyone that tells you otherwise with a 9-10 is lying to your face."

[7.0] "a strong episode and certainly the best this mania build has had to offer, but it wasn't as hype as reviews would have you believe. Aside from the opening match most of the actual wrestling on the wrestling show was pretty mid, not unwatchable by any stretch but nothing to go out of your way for. The ending segment was obviously the peak, along with Cody at the start continuing to do some of the best promos of his career. My only complaint is the same one everyone else has had, that all the build has been between Cody and The Rock, with Roman feeling like a side character when he's the one who's the champion. Hopefully that ends up making sense with the payoff, but as of now it's a flaw that I just cannot move past. All in all though, it's some of the best storytelling the WWE has seen in a while, just wish everything in the between lived up to it."

The Punk segment was a ton of fun, had some 1997 WWF energy in it. But I can't justify giving it the full 10, because outside of JD/Ricochet, those matches just kind-of happened. But yes, those segments are strong enough to give this show an 8 or 9. Enjoy the Mana while it lasts."

The fact that a by the numbers beatdown by a heel to build a match (that isnt happening by the way) is being talked about as the great moment of this wrestling era really shows a lack of interest from the hard-core fanbase for everything that wrestling has always been outside that company. The Drew-Punk-Seth segment was good, the actual wrestling on the show, aoutside of the opener, is not even worth of comments, is aggressively ok."

The match between Ricochet and JD McDonagh is a thing of beauty, there's great spots without being spammed like in a videogame. The other matches were just there, not bad but not as this match's level. And the ending was just sick. I would have rated it 10 if it had been Roman instead of Dwayne. The champion is a sidekick and it's unfair. Petite pensée à Yana, pour qui les avis sur ce site ne comptent étrangement plus."

Rest of the show just mediocre as always, I couldn't care less of Rollins, McIntyre, Knight or the Usos. The storylines are just tasteless. The only good actor is Sami Zayn, but they will never let him be a main eventer. And the wrestling is...just too much. It's not about winning anymore, I feel like wrestlers (even in keyfabe) are only interested in showing off. It's just fan service, this product is not for me anymore sadly."

Things slowed down after, and normally that would make for a solid-to-good episode of RAW. Tonight though? *LA Knight voice* NAH NAH! The ending segment was one of the best in recent memory. Cody took his bumps like a champ and The Rock lived up to that silly nickname he's given himself. They performed so well that I thought Rocky was going to hurl Cody off the top of the parking deck at one point. Exhilarating stuff. Hype levels for that tag match at 'Mania are at fever-pitch. Everything else was fine, too - lot of good storytelling and intangible work done even if the wrestling itself cooled off."

[7.0] "A decent episode of RAW. The wrestling itself wasn't really much to write home about and felt quite lacking with rampant interference or short match times marring most contests. I feel the show somewhat made up for it however with its incredible segments and promos. Punk/McIntyre/Rollins was a fantastic war of words, probably the best exchange I've heard from WWE in a long while, and of course the show closing brawl between Rhodes and The Rock was nothing short of wonderful. Genuinely great stuff there. Becky and Rhea's segment was also quite entertaining. Overall a good show put down a little by match quality."

[10.0] "An unbelievable raw easily the best of the year it had everything you want in a wrestling show except maybe some more womens wrestling. The opening match was the best on the show in terms of match quality and goes to show what ricochet can do when given the opponent and time to wrestle there were some great moves especially that beautiful Canadian destroyer and hopefully they continue to give ricochet momentum and not just take him off tv randomly. The Candice Lerae story continues to progress well but needs to be given longer to make the audience really care.the rage match was good for the time it lasted and the story at wrestlemania seems set to give r truth his wrestlemania moment with at least 1 set of titles.the Andrade match was what you would expect it to be and the main event was truly only a conduit of the segment that would follow. I also liked the finish of Sami was bronson and the interaction between Sami and chad it seems like Sami is going to be rocky and chad his coach which is intriguing and am looking forward to see how that storyline pays off. The punk drew and Seth segment was brilliant it didnt feel polished at all but I feel that worked in its favour as it furthered that idea in the audiences mind of the hate between the 3 guys and also brought more hype to Seth and Drews match. The opening segment was a great surprise and unexpected and tied well into the closing segment while the closing segment was one of the best in modern history of the wwe it really intensifies the things at stake and that violence the bloodline is capable off it also makes the rock seem serious and not just some goofy Hollywood star with one liners overall I felt this raw truly achieved its goal in building hype up for wrestlemanaia."

[9.0] "The start was a good promo of Cody with a secret message from TheRock who got absolutely trashed by the public lol Then a very good short but good match between Ricochet and JD with good action very aerial like we enjoy to see. After that a good promo between McIntyre and Punk to continue a feud that was a bit let under the radar for a while that was good but also pretty funny with McIntyre and the entrance of Seth that as the champion had to intervine Then a weird woman match that was short but even shorter on the french dub so i didn't saw anything of it except the finish Then a nice tag team match New day vs DIY but disapointing finish obviously, the Jugedment day stopped the match when it started to get interesting, still a very nice R-truth segment A good promo between Becky and Rhea that is nice with a lot of emotions let's not forget the hit on Dominik And the last match on the french dub was Jey VS Shinsuke, even tho i think Shinsuke not having a real road to wrestlemania he was put there by default just for the avenger moment of the show with Cody, Seth, the Bloodline and Drew, but they had a good match All that to go to the highlight of the show and the reason why that show is so high up in the ratings : the fight between the Final Boss the Rock and Cody in the backstages. Under the pouring rain a shot that was more personal and violent with blood (even tho i think Cody bladded himself) it was a very nice segment to hype up the crowd for the Wrestlemania coming. For the cinematography of the show, the nice moments that are in the matches but also outside i think the rating is deserved."

[7.0] "I am used to watch RAW in highlights and it's been like that for a while. Of course after hearing all about how great it was I had to watch it in full and well... It somehow manages to both deserve and not deserve the rating at the exact same time. It's a perspective thing. First of all, the whole show reminded why I used to love WWE and why I grew to hate it. It's a stacked card and sounds incredible on the paper but yet the only saving grace is Ricochet vs JD. Not an unexpected result from two credible athletes but are they going anywhere? I just don't think so. Women wrestling is only barely 2 minutes long and that is CRIMINAL. Yet another no contest between two red hot tag teams, Zayn losing to Reed prior to his WM bout (I like Reed's consisteny but come on... Not in the expense of Zayn). Nakamura is 44 years old and he can go but he is on the damn clock. WWE once again started to screw up his heel run and he seems far more limited than he ever was. He's lost. I still can't disconnect Andrade from C2 so I said it once and will say it twice: He's doing nothing right now and that needs to change asap. He was started to re-elevate himself and he returned to do what exactly? I understand people loved the promos and the old-ish vibes. They were undeniably phenomenal but I want to watch decent wrestling. There is some and then they were barely given TV time and any reasonable booking behind the matches/winners and any solid psychology in addition. I am happy for those who liked the show but some are being mental. I want to care for the entirety of the card. If I can't then it's not as great as people try to make it out to be. That is why I eventually started to grow a dislike towards WWE. If it's not a PLE, I rarely care for the TV matches. But I like the production and it was top notch once again. Props to Rocky boy btw. We were so close to get another Rock vs Cena copycat and then he started to do the god's work and after all he deserves to be people's champion. In the end, I found the rating questionable and I think it's overhyped due to bandwagoning but it was a good show, definitely above average. The lack of solid wrestling and amount of time given compared to the promos given the depth of the roster is just saddening. It's not like you can't focus on storytelling and good wrestling at the same time. That's when you deserve a 10 if you can manage to pull that off. Some excuses to lack of wrestling come off as a straight joke. I don't think I am watching Succession or something."

[5.0] "After seeing and hearing the hype surrounding this episode of RAW, I had to go and check it out to see if the hype was warranted. And based on the rating I am going to give this show, it really wasn't. This was carried by two promo segments that built towards matches that we won't get, there was a single good 3* match in Ricochet vs Jordan Devlin which just isn't enough to carry a 3h long show alone when rest of the wrestling wasn't good, it was mostly just there with the women getting shafted hard. When all the entrances combined are about as much as all the wrestling put together, you really find the point why I dislike the current WWE product. It is not for me, I just like good wrestling, why can't we have that? 5/10"

"This is the most overhyped show I've seen in a long time. While it had a couple great promo segments, especially the Punk/Seth/Drew one. The show had less than 45 minutes of actual wrestling in a 3 hour wrestling show. And only one memorable match. Meanwhile the promos dragged on way too long. Rock gets a full entrance to stand around and do nothing. The beatdown segment at the end could have been shot in 3-4 minutes easy and told the same story. And the rest of the card had to suffer as a result, having their segments cut short. Every single match had skipped or shortened entrances, but every promo had a full grand entrance. It genuinely boggles my mind that everyone thinks this is such a great RAW when the one two weeks ago was far and away better. But I guess some swearing and fake blood will do thar for you."

"A great episode of WWE television, that's not really saying much though, considering the typical level we're used to. Great WWE show, satisfactory wrestling show. Really wish the women got more time, less than two minutes of wrestling is not good enough. Ricochet vs JD was a really strong match and the closing segment was one of the best in show history. Though that leads me to believe that many of the very high scores given out for this episode of Raw were based purely on the merit of that closing segment."

But all peaking tin this fantastic episode. This is pro-wrestling at its finest and why I became a fan many years ago, it made me crave to watch WM right now to see the culmination of some fantastic build-up for multiple matches including the bloodline/cody/seth/drew matches, the women's title match, the Uso brothers. I also love that Ricochet is getting a renewed push, the crowd were hot all night like from the attitude era and the closing segment was an all-time memorable moment."

CM Punk/Drew McIntyre/Seth Rollins segment was entertaining, especially with the comments made by CM Punk and Punk announcing he's gonna be on commentary at WrestleMania was good to see. Rhea Ripley/Becky Lynch segment was okay with Lynch getting fired up ahead of her and Ripley's title match, the fight at the end of the segment was fun to watch. Ricochet vs JD McDonagh: A great match between these two, continuing on from their part in the gauntlet match a few weeks ago, both gave a solid performance, Ricochet proving once again on TV that he is the highlight of the night, Ricochet getting the win was good to see [***3/4]. Candice LaRae vs Ivy Nile: I did not like this match due to the timing being too short, LaRae getting the win by pinning Nile with her feet on the ropes was not needed [DUD]. #DIY vs The New Day: A match that was solid to start but when The Judgement Day interfered it ruined it, both teams in this match had a solid performance [**1/4]. Andrade vs Giovanni Vinci: A solid match that had a few decent moments, Andrade continuing to win was good to see [**]. Bronson Reed vs Sami Zayn: An okay match, the action was slightly above average, I don't understand Zayn losing so close to challenging Gunther for the IC title at WrestleMania as he is losing momentum [*3/4]. Jey Uso vs Shinsuke Nakamura: The match was a slightly average main event match, Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa trying to get involved only for Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins getting involved, the match did feel a bit rushed at times, the timing being short was not great, could have been longer [*1/2]. The Rock attacking Cody Rhodes to end the episode was not needed but did help further the story between Rhodes and The Bloodline."

But HOLY SHIT everything else on this show rules. Firstly, the stuff between Cody and the Rock. MY GOD. Genuinely some of the best and most thrilling bits of WWE TV I've ever seen, because it didn't feel like the clean cut PG WWE that I'm used to. The angle that closed the show where Rock beats Cody bloody in the pouring rain, wiping his blood on a weight belt and straight up cursing and telling Cody that this is what happens when you fuck with his family was genuinely one of, if not THE best closing angle to any wrestling show that I've ever seen. The Rock has just been magical throughout this entire build to Mania and this is his finest work yet. Then there was the Punk, Drew and Seth segment. A segment that I also loved for similar reasons to the Rock and Cody stuff. It didn't feel PG or overly scripted, and that's because it wasn't. It was 3 guys just riffing and getting genuine reactions and responses from eachother and it all felt so natural and real. All of it was just so fucking good. This show felt so much different to what I'm used to from WWE and honestly I'm excited. Not just for Mania but for the future of weekly WWE shows in general, because this was the best bit of WWE programming I've seen in quite some time, and I honestly want more shit like this. What a time to be a wrestling fan. Both WWE and AEW are at peak levels of quality and it's honestly so exciting. This show ruled. Wrestling rules."

Wrestlemania is around the corner and this is exactly the type of hype and excitement that should be emphasized, especially so close to the event. Ricochet and JD had a great match with some moves Ive never really seen before. The ending segment just gave me a sense of nostalgia for the old days and it was just awesome to see The Rock become this evil entity before our eyes. He kept his promise and smeared Codys blood on the weight belt. The rain elevated the scene and gave it a true cinema feel. On top of all that the camera work was actually consistently really good with a lot of shots being held on to great effect; Kevin Dunn being gone is a blessing. As much as I'm not ready to watch WWE weekly again this show more than anything has shown me that the product is finally starting to change."

[10.0] "The show was fantastic, the face to face among Cody and Rock is something that I didn't expect in the night, it was a great surprise. I liked the match that Ricochet and Jd gave last night, the match had great spots to observe and enjoy. The segment that Punk, Rollins and Drew did was an all timer, it's probably the segment of the year because this felt like Punk actually hates these guys, tried to derail their promos and that's Punk at his best. Also Becky and Rhea made a good segment for continue to push her rivalry at wrestlemania. And finally, when The rock attacked Cody and he was bleeding was unique. It is one of the greatest segments that I have ever seen in my life as a wrestling fan. The rock is carriyng the road to wrestlemania, he is the main character of this road. This show is probably the best weekly tv wrestling show of the year. And is one of the best raws that I have seen in my life as a wrestling fan."
