Gerne wieder.

13.08.2024 | BEER CAT | 6.0 | The "Rampage Vibes" criticism of this episode are pretty fair, and grounded in a lot of truth - unlike most Collisions, this was taped after Dynamite, and a pretty hot Dynamite given the market and aided by the closing Tony/Mariah angle. This was booked and worked like a proper B show, and some of the charm of that kind of thing managed to shine here. There were a lot of midcard acts interacting with each other in meaningful ways, and the second hour had the rare advantage of having no matches with obvious winners. Recommended if you like breezier episodes with high stakes for the low card, very skippable if you're looking for major happenings.

Just like Rampage, started out great with Punk but dying a slow, painful death just like Rampage after Punk left. Cagematch says this comment is too short so let me add a few things. Takeshita is good as always but the fake Dynamite Kid was so bland. Harley Cameron is very entertaining and I wanna see her tits. And for the love of God, get these Undisputed Kingdom guys off TV. Nobody but the most obnoxious, smelly dubbalos on X cares about these guys. |

18.07.2024 | SpacecadetLondon | 4.0 | Sadly collision is slowly turning into a longer version of rampage. AEW has a very long roster with many talented wrestlers that week after week are left out of the shows due to the inability to give them an interesting storyline. Instead they just fill up episodes like this one with random matches that nobody cares about. Maybe a roster split could be a solution to make collision interesting again.

I think Collision should go back to the early format of the show and make the show newsworthy again and have some big names on the show. |

16.07.2024 | raininglightning | 4.0 | What was this crap? You have some of the best wrestlers in the world and this is the crap you put on TV for 2 hours? This show is now a waste of time. The only enjoyable match on the show was Takeshita/Billington. The rest was boring, heatless. There are no excuses for a card like this. Why are Shane Taylor Promotions on TV? Why are The Kingdom? I love Dalton Castle, but these are Ring of Honor acts and yet get more TV time than actual stars. It's incredibly frustrating. You have Ricky Starks sitting at home for 6 months? Sammy Guevara? Miro? Wardlow? Keith Lee? This show was taped after Dynamite. Okada, The Young Bucks, Jack Perry, Swerve Strickland, Will Ospreay, Mercedes Mone were all at this taping (and involved in non-wrestling segments on Dynamite). And yet none of them wrestled on this show. Just absolutely zero effort being put into this show. Why should I bother to watch? And why are they stripping the Bang Bang Gang of the titles? Makes absolutely no sense.

15.07.2024 | kwadiava | 5.0 | It is true that most of the Collision guys are either now being heavily featured on Dynamite (BCC, Patriarchy, BCG/BBG, etc.), absent (Starks, Miro, Scorpio, etc.), or completely gone (Punk, Andrade). It's definitely a sour taste after two masterful editions of Dynamite. When it comes to ROH stuff, AEW has been and apparently will always be weird. I like the Outrunners and Dalton on my screen, but I can't help thinking it could have been an Honor Club match instead. Why do we have it here? Furthermore, why is there a central focus on the ROH World Title but not the others? How does a filler match like Skye/Harley help anybody? Why not have Athena or Billie Starkz for once instead? STP and Top Flight are in a little feud in which STP previously came over, so it had to be Top Flight now to keep the classic 50/50 booking. The main event was awfully mid. Despite my liking of the Kingdom, they are not main event caliber talents as of now (especially looking at that piledriver), and they won due to an outside distraction caused by Trent again. Then it ends with Trent getting a wrench on the head while Ishii comes out to fight off Roddy. I mean, I don't even know what's going on there. The opener was fine, and I believe they'll want to keep the kid around. I guess it being pretaped didn't help it as usual.

15.07.2024 | MaveDeltzer | 4.0 | None of the matches were horrible but this was a boring episode and completely skippable. You can understand why the focus is on Dynamite right now but Collision, especially when it's like this, can be a momentum killer. It's all coming from the same brand so it affects brand perception. The most interesting parts of this, outside of a decent but heatless opener, were probably the recaps of Dynamite. One step at a time, I guess, but Collision's average quality isn't great right now.
15.07.2024 | germshep24 | | People are forgetting that Collision was supposed to be Punk run show, but of course since Tony refused to deal with the real problem that was really short lived so now he has 2 secondary shows and his primary show. It isn't necessarily bad as Khan does need those 2 shows to help prepare new stars for the main show. It is unfortunate that we can't get some story growth within Collision or rampage to help further the stories we get on Dynamite.

14.07.2024 | elidawson | | I think this was a solid 6 show. Collision is definitely geared toward the more hardcore fans. I thought the Konosuke Takeshita vs Dynamite Kid match was amazing and it's only a matter of time until we're seeing him week to week. I'll always mark out for the party peacock and the Out-Runners. They're just so young, tan, and vascular. I hope we see more Castle. The Main Event was well wrestled, and OC using the monkey wrench at the end was interesting. Hope we're heading somewhere dark with that. The meandering promos with Deonna and Thunder Rosa drug the show down. I am not for full scripting, but if that's the best promo you can do, we need to re-film or do something else with the time. Also a LOT of time on local talent that besides Tommy would have probably been best for dark matches. But it's a nice reward for Calgary smarts that really love their local folks, I guess.
14.07.2024 | charliefiction | 7.0 | The opening match is an above average match that you'll want to check out if you missed the show (and the Callis/Billington/FTR angle was well-executed). I also liked the layout and story for the main event. The Trios belt stuff feels a little convoluted at this stage, but I think the people they have involved in the match/angle should be able to make it work in the payoff match. Nothing too spectacular on this episode otherwise, so a "7" seems fair. But it's good to see some storyline advancement on Collision with some of the mid-card feuds and workers.

14.07.2024 | Jamildo2 | 5.0 | Takeshita vs Tommy Billington: The Dynamie kid runs the ropes like lightening, Don Callis put him over throughout the match which was cool. He moved well, he sold well, his offence made sense and didnt do anything unbelievable. Takeshita worked like a proper heel throughout and that not a surprise, hes exceptional. Lots of good back and forth, Tommy was allowed lots of good offence and after some back and forth he hit a tombstone and then missed his headbutt. Takeshita eventually hit his finish. Really good match. Ive seen Billington twice and he has been brilliant twice. Sign him Tony! After the match Callis tries to sign Billington, get rejected and the Callis family attack. FTR return to make the save. They are both looking MASSIVE. BBG vs Jobber squash match. After the match Christopher daniels strips Bullet Club Golds titles and Christian Cage comes out. Match set up for the trios titles. Jay white removed as well to get him back out as a single. Good move. HOB promo, maybe setting up for the young Bucks potential. Thats the only match I want now! Dalton Castle vs Roddy: not an offensive match, dalton is underrated for sure but a flat finish which was a shame. Match was fine. Briscoe promo, good as always. Stokely/ Stat interview, both are great and work well off of each other. Nyla vs Jobber. Squash and who cares. Top Flight vs STP: We have JUST seen this on Rampage and it didnt hit then either. Once again, Lee Moriarty is decent and should be getting more involvement as a single, Shane is wasted as a manager, Ogogo is improving and its good to see but he isnt quite ready but is certainly is getting there. Top Flight are somewhat generic despite their high flying style, the martins have a lack of personality. Adding Andretti to that mix is making it worse, not better. Making Moriarty eat the point is CRIMINAL. Top Flight arent getting over while they keep doing this. Moriarty amongst the six featured has a real chance which his style and personality. Have Shane manage him if thats what it needs, but make him the star. Deonna interview with Rosa interrupting. Like both of them. Good interview. Skye Blue vs Harley Cameron: confused by Skyes presentation change, not against it either but guess its time to move on. SB ring work is solid, Harley is continuing to improve as well. Weird finish, couldnt quite make out how the submission worked, but the match was fine. Skye Blue promo challenges Shida. Skye blue HAS to win. Are you listening Tony? ! The conglomeration vs The Undisputed Kingdom: Not a bad match by any stretch and I like everyone who started and got involved, but this just felt like a mid card match. Everything was professional and delivered well. Maybe by the end the rest of the show had pummelled me into submission, but this was just alright. Pretty much the best you can hope for in Collision these days. Tony, if you want me to care about this show again, give me something to be drawn into to. Since the Daniel Garcia/FTR/HOB feud, has anything else here really done that? The Sweve/ Ospreay segment perhaps. But bar the opening match which was really good, the rest of the show was just skippable.

Really liked a lot of the promo follow up we saw on this show, good to see from the women especially. The Outrunners as the Boys is such a perfect fit as well. Hope to see more Tommy Billington in AEW. |
14.07.2024 | Wersek | 1.0 | An another filler show. I only liked the fight between Takeshita and Tommy Billington. I hate shows with squash for example Nyla Rosa vs Ava Lawless and BBG vs Local wrestlers. That premise of taking the titles away from BBG is complete stupidity because it is assumed that at Rampage on June 7, Jay White awards Juice Robinson as undisputed trios champion. Although there are many shows, I'm not stupid for not remembering Jay White's promo. Fighting for a starting opportunity at an ROH PPV? Sorry but this is AEW. If they want to do that, do it in the ROH Shows, not in Collision, that is why this program is considered filler. I found it boring Top Flight vs Shane Taylor Promotions. It was endless to watch and long, plus I don't know what they want to do with those stables. Wasn't Sky Blue supposed to be possessed by the spells of Julia Hart and the House of Black? They forgot about that and she had a new character without knowing the outcome of the relationship with Julia Hart, suddenly it was the injury but they should have given a final point. The Undisputed Kingdom vs Kyle O'Reilly & Orange Cassidy was boring and monotonous. The story of Kyle O'Reilly and the undisputed reign is garbage and I really don't want to know more about that stable buried since MJF turned heel. Tony Khan must divide the roster and distribute the titles, this enters my top 5 of the worst collisions in history.
14.07.2024 | JoseluLock | 5.0 | The opener and the main being good forces me to not go lower on this episode because woof... The middle part of this episode was beyond boring. Some cool pre-tapes and promos but it looked like an extended B-tier Rampage. All the stars were used for Dynamite so you can get the rest with only Takeshita, OC and O'Reilly feeling like they are over. I really hope they boost the Arlington residency Collisions because what was once the best weekly wrestling show (even at the beginning of this year) feels like it is in route to being discarded by TK as not as important as Dynamite.
14.07.2024 | laddermatch | 5.0 | This was the definition of a filler episode. Aside from Takeshita vs. Dynamite Kid Jr., there was not one match here that was interesting to me at all. Collision used to feel more important than it is now. This felt more like an extended version of Rampage but even most Rampages I find are better than this. I feel like they have the players to make Collision important again like it was when it started but they aren't putting in that effort anymore. Mark Briscoes promo at his chicken farm in Sandy Fork was probably my favorite thing about this episode. Mark Briscoe promos are always welcome.
14.07.2024 | sarahlicity | 6.0 | I'm typically generous and as long as a show does the base minimum of exhibiting competently-worked wrestling as well as equally competently-executed theatre related to the action in the ring, then I'm not going to rate it too low. And that's where many of these pre-taped Collisions stand, to be honest. The wrestling contained within isn't bad by any stretch of the imagination, but neither does it have those sparks that make matches truly great. Still, not every show can be balls-to-the-wall excitement. An average rating for average quality is more than fair.
