[6.0] "One of the best Battle of the Belts so far: the opener was alright with an amazing final stretch, Cargill vs. Blue wasn't very good but at least it was a good showcase for Blue and the main event was pretty good, best match of the night. Enjoyable show."
[8.0] "The best Battle of the Belts so far. That's not exactly a high bar, but all the matches on this one delivered in my opinion. No match of the year contenders or anything, but a thoroughly enjoyable watch."
[8.0] "The Acclaimed defended the tag titles in a superb brawl against Lethal & Jarrett thereby ending the rivalry decisively without any damage in momentum on both sides. The action was kept on a minimal scope, but the dramatic overbooking is the key element that elevated it to the current level of appreciation. Jade's new challenger in Skye performed greatly in another non-linear atmosphere for the network title. She has shown a lot of improvement for the past few weeks, and it was in full display here, but the better level of Jade's experience resulted in a tough loss for the rookie. The main event has most of the chances to be billed as one of the underrated clashes of the year because of the talent involved. I had nil expectations heading into, but the immense length & awesome presentation of action and storytelling elevated the bout to the next level. Of course, there was little doubt in a change of gold, but Sabian proved that he's worthy enough to hold the fort when the time strikes right. Another successful championship special from the promotion is in the books as all matches had little to zero hype and delivered more than the expectations. The storylines might've been not that strong as usual, but the performances by all wrestlers made the event even more memorable."
[8.0] "This card worked its ass off and deserved its rating. The Acclaimed vs. Lethal & Double J was so funny while Cargill and Blue had quite a great showcase. Cassidy and Sabian put on quite a solid and fun fight."
[9.0] "This was a stiff match with several near falls. Skye blue had a great showing. Jade was very sharp and displayed tremendous power and athleticism. And they had one of the most beautiful finishes I've seen in a woman's match"
[6.0] "This might be the best showcase for BOTB so far. Unless one of the early shows delivered, I enjoyed everything on this card outside of Kip Sabian."
[6.0] "I think we can say at this point that these Battle of the Belts shows are less "mini PPV" and more "extended Rampage", but that's good enough with tapered expectations. The shades of TNA overbooking in the opener made this hour worthwhile for me, but I thought the other matches were fine enough, too."
[8.0] "I really enjoyed this episode. A fun and very entertaining opener (9/10), a decent title defense from Jade (7/10) and a more indecisive main event than some seem to think in my opinion (7.5/10). It's a good soup. 7, 5/10 (3* 3/4)."
[6.0] "Very average battle of the belts show. Although the tag match and main event were good, they were very predictable and didn't have much at stake."
[5.0] "Pretty underwhelming, great opener but entirely skippable afterwards. I see what they were trying to do with this show but Jade's match is purely a snooze and the main event is too slow and predictable to really hype me up at all. Not an all-time bad show or anything but not something I would recommend apart from the opener and if it weren't tied to a pretty decent Rampage it'd be even more underwhelming."
[7.0] "the card on paper looked pretty weak but it wasn't bad at all. solid title defenses all throughout. the opening tag match was a fun one. Jade/Skye was pretty decent with both women exceeding my expectations. OC/Kip was surprisingly good. this was one of the better BOTB's but that's not saying much."
[7.0] "Good battle of the belts. The women's match was just meh but that's okay since it's focusing on building a story. Tag opener good and main better than expected I guess"
[9.0] "This was a really a great hour of wrestling. The tag title match was a lot of fun and I was suprised how good the main event was. Even Jade Cargill who can be a bit hit miss in the ring had a decent showing."
[6.0] "A solid little set of matches here. The Tag Title match was easily the highlight - not sure why it wasn't the main event - as the Acclaimed looked very impressive in overcoming Jarrett & Lethal for the second and (maybe) final time. Jarrett's run - considering it's Jeff Jarrett, in 2023, in AEW - has actually been really enjoyable so far. Elsewhere Orange Cassidy had a good All-Atlantic Title defense against Sabian, although the end result wasn't really in doubt (and I'm still not really sure why the title exists at all), and Jade Cargill had probably her best match yet against Skye Blue (who she's already beaten several times before in both singles and tag action, but the familiarity may have helped improve this bout). A good hour of wrestling even if the match order is a bit off."
[7.0] "Solid show overall. Competitive title matches throughout the night. From what I have seen thus far in their respective careers Cargill and Blue had their respective matches of their careers on this night."
[7.0] "For a one hour event and followed by a Rampage it wasn't bad at all, obviously they weren't flashy fights but they were done pretty well overall."
"One of the best Battle of the Belts yet, which might be saying something. The three matches on the card may not seem particularly special. The Acclaimed just beat Lethal+Jarrett this past Wednesday, Cargill's beat Skye Blue at least three times prior, and Kip is still being built from his extended time off TV. But each match overdelivered on expectations. Lethal and Jarrett took less of the spotlight in their match, allowing Singh and Dutt to have some very fun spots. Singh especially is looking increasingly polished, at least in his limited role. Dutt's back and forth with Aubrey was also a lot of fun, what with Aubrey from the PNW. Felt a lot like a modernized 90s WWF tag match, for the better. Cargill is not yet a wrestler that can consistently deliver even a decent in-ring performance. But this week's finishing sequence was perhaps her best step forward yet. A chain of offense from Skye Blue leading into a spot allowing Cargill to show off her impressive strength was very polished compared to the rest of the match. If Cargill can begin to deliver at that level consistently, there may be potential I hadn't seen before. At 50 matches now with little improvement, though, it's a surprise to see. Orange Cassidy vs. Kip Sabian was always going to be a sleeper hit. Kip has long overperformed on expectations, but has been hit with so many setbacks it's almost cruel. A lot of his in-ring work thematic work, but he presented a fun Joker-like character to OC's increasingly frustrated Batman. A dark side of Orange was shown. Kip looked like he never planned to win the match in the first place. And this is absolutely not the end of their story. Very fun, very exciting story development whether you're an Orange or Kip fan. Enjoyable show overall, if without a truly standout performance or meaningful match."
[6.0] "A bit more of the same as the lead in, Rampage. It's an hour of wrestling. It doesn't matter much, just an extended Rampage, really. Good matches, oddly really enjoying Jeff Jarrett's AEW run."
[7.0] "Oddly, this felt more like a standard issue of Rampage, and Rampage felt like a big deal. This was still entertaining, especially the dumb fun of the opening match, but despite being title matches they all felt more like parts of ongoing storylines. But over two hours there were five matches at 7 or 8 out of 10, and that's always a great level for TV wrestling."
[6.0] "Tag match wasn't a good wrestling match but it sure was fun one. Jade/Skye was pretty good (though they could've done the same match without Red Velvet interfering) and OC/Kip was alright... But I wasn't really enjoying the latter matches because the whole Jade/Red Velvet schtick is dumb and I couldn't care less about Kip Sabian."
[4.0] "An awkward, messy ending stretch to both the opening and closing match of the card made this a very unenjoyable card for me. The Book of Hobbs being a literal book also seemed a little silly to me as opposed to it being a more metaphorical thing. It's a shame that Skye and Cargill were in between them, as their match was great, but not enough to save the show. A bizarrely lackluster followup to an abnormally strong Rampage"
[8.0] "This, to me, was the best Battle of the Belts. Every match was just fantastic. Even the TBS championship match was really good and exceeded my expectations."
[8.0] "Although the card wasn't as great as many people expected, I think this show exceded my expectations, especially in the oppening match, which was pretty funny."
[7.0] "Still a solid follow up from Rampage with matches that I also believe overdelivered than what people might have expected. Opening tag match was actually very fun and what I love from wrestling and Skye Blue & Jade have shown great growth with that womens match. Although there was filler for the womens match and main event. Sure some story progression for both of those but there seemed like a bit of dead time just so the special could reach an hour."
[8.0] "This was undoubtedly my favorite Battle of the Belts, and it was one of the ones I least expected, I only watched it because Rampage was very good, if it weren't for the case, I wouldn't have watched it."
