[10.0] "TNA/Impact Slammiversary (2018) is such an absolute blast to watch. Tessa vs Allie and Cage vs Sydal were fine and Dreamer vs Edwards and Su Yung vs Madison Rayne were whatever but everything else from the opening four way, to the 5150 street fight, to Penta and Sami's mask vs hair match, to the main event with Aries and Moose and even the video packages for all the matches were just spectacular and the Canadian crowd was super hot throughout everything. I adore this show so much and it's one of my all time favourite PPVs ever."

[10.0] "The opener was a tremendous start to the show with four of the best to work in that environment of a sprint and had the right winner who made his return to the brand. Allie & Tessa had an underrated back-and-forth contest with the right knockout prevailing while Eddie & Tommy had real good fun in their plunder brawl. Cage won the X-Division title in a pretty good clash of styles against Sydal whereas Yung & Rayne worked out their story pretty good in a solid match for the title. Code 5150 was executed and it was bonkers as heck. LAX & OGz dished out a platter of violent aggression on each other to claim their place as tag champs. Penta & Sami orchestrated a hazardous war of animalistic gory with a strong essence of storytelling at its peak. The main event was a fantastic collision that's been built beautifully to here. This event put Impact Wrestling back on the map thereby turning most of the lost viewers with excellent content to be delivered. Had some minor tweaks made here & there, this PPV could've been THE BEST PPV of the year. 9.5 out of 10 points!"

[8.0] "Nothing on the card was really "bad". A somewhat sluggish hardcore match featuring an ECW talent I'm indifferent to, a Knockouts championship bout which was kinda tacky and predictable, but not especially bad in either case. The rest of the card ranged from the decent (Tag Team) to the superlative (Mask v Hair, Main Event). After over a decade of floundering under the waters of horrible booking decisions and contrived stipulations, Impact begins to come into its own on the back of solid, dependable and noble wrestling."

The 4 Way, Cage/Sydal and the tag team match were pretty good, I also liked Blanchard/Allie. The main event felt like something important and it was good; although Pentagon vs. Callihan was the best match by far. Simply incredible, very intense, exciting and bloody but with a well-defined purpose. The only bad thing was the second Knockouts match."

The four way, LAX vs OGz, Tessa vs Allie, World Title and hair vs mask matches are all worth watching."

Very easy show to enjoy, and the matches were all given sufficient time to churn out something great. I cannot think of anything bad to say, but the only reason the show is not getting a full 10 is cos of two matches that were underwhelming for me, the Knockouts and World title matches."
JimUni wrote on 19.10.2018:
[10.0] "A tremendous event with an insanely over-achieving card and a great variety of entertaining aspects. Aries vs Moose, Pentagon vs Sami, LAX vs OGz and the opening 4-way are memorable matches and the rest of the card delivered great wrestling as well. This is the best Impact Wrestling PPV in at least 5 years. One of the best they ever produced."

Specially Penta vs Callihan, Moose vs Aries and LAX vs The OGz. --- Oh, and the details about ECW in Edwards vs Dreamer was fantastic."

[7.0] "I guess all the talk about Impact having gone through a major resurgence was genuine, because this was a pretty good show. The low points were very embarrassing, but the high points were very good, and in the end there was a lot more positive than negative. The opening 4-way was a decent spotfest. It was plagued by the usual multi-man match annoyances, but was creative and explosive enough to keep me entertained. ***1/4. Allie vs Blanchard wasn't terrible, but it definitely wasn't good. Allie looked incredibly awkward, though I liked Blanchard's intensity and general character work. **1/4. Edwards vs Dreamer was a very dull hardcore match with a lot of melodrama from Edwards and a lame finish. **1/4. Sydal vs Cage was quite good. Their chemistry was off at first, but picked up tremendously and led to a great series of sequences and spots. I loved the power vs high-flying dynamic. Definitely finished too soon, sadly. ***1/4. Yung vs Rayne was just terrible. Rayne was at least trying, but Yung looked awful. She didn't play up her 'crazy undead' gimmick much except in very particular spots. All the interactions here were incredibly slow and uncreative, and the finish made no sense since Yung should have been DQ'd. *. LAX vs OGz was a good 'reckless' style match. Lots of nice brawling, good weapon spots, and big impact moves. Santana was the star of the match. Finish was a bit too contrived, but executed well. ***1/4-***1/2. Pentagon vs Callihan was a great blood feud brawl and definite MOTN. So many great exchanges that highlighted the deep-seated rivalry, and the character work was great from both men. ***3/4-****. Aries vs Moose was very good as well. I loved the idea of Aries having to use his quick-thinking and underhanded tactics to stand a chance against Moose's immense power. The final 5 minutes were awesome. I just wish the match went longer. ***3/4"

[9.0] "A really, really solid card, anchored by a great second half. The opening match was also a very fun spotfest that hearkened back to the origins of the X-Division, while in the latter part of the show we got a very intense, bloody grudge match with Pentagon and Callihan, a wild ECW-style hardcore tag match with the past and present versions of LAX, and a very strong main event in Aries vs Moose. Tessa vs Allie was also a good outing, the Dreamer vs Edwards match featured good story development, and the X-Division and Knockouts Title matches were fine too. Great to see Impact get back to such fine form after their trials and tribulations of the last several years."

This new era of Impact is doing really well so far and I'm excited to see what's next. MOTN- Pentagon Jr vs Sami Callihan, Mask vs Hair match. Absolutely brutal, I loved it."

[9.0] "The opening 4-way was a good spotfest (***), Allie/Tessa was a tale of 2 performers; everything Tessa did looked very good & then on the other hand, everything that Allie did looked sloppy & straight up awkward (**), Eddie/Dreamer was a good brawl; Dreamer's control segment in the beginning was all kinds of awesome (***1/4), Sydal/Cage was a very well laid out big man vs. little man match (***1/2), I actually liked Su/Madison better than Allie/Tessa; they kept it short, but it was an action packed sprint (**1/2), LAX/OGz ruled; great seeing Homicide & Hernandez being so awesome, and the new LAX impressed me quite a bit (***3/4), Pentagon/Callihan had a great rivalry in AAW few years ago, and they sure have chemistry; here they delivered a bloody, violent spectacle brawl, which is something both of them (especially Callihan) excel at (****), Aries/Moose was one HELLUVA sprint! One of my favorite matches of the year, an absolutely incredible performance by Aries, who truly is one of the best that there is (****1/2). This was the first full TNA show I've watched since 2013, and I thought it was absolutely awesome. Top to bottom GREAT stuff - only the women's matches fall to the weaker side of things, but both matches were kept pretty short, so they weren't bad."

[10.0] "Due to burnout, I went on hiatus with my viewership of wrestling for about 3 years until Impact Wrestling started to reel me slowly back in around spring time this year. The announcement of Slammiversary here in Toronto in the beautiful and dazzling Rebel Entertainment Complex was an event marked on my calendar and led to two tickets bought for my friend and I, as I always wanted to attend a PPV from this company especially when talent like AJ Styles, Kurt Angle, Samoa Joe and the like were around, but I've always held Austin Aries as the man and was sold on the main event. I wasn't expecting the show to be on the magnitude of great that it was, but it delivered way beyond my expectations of what I thought I'd be in for. The wild, fun, extreme, artsy and balls-out wrestling action this PPV presented reminded me why I fell in love with Impact since 2005. Every match which contained plot behind it had my attention and my interest and the sense of urgency to put on an instant classic show, coupled with the great and audible reactions from the crowd, created what will go down in history as one of their greatest outings ever. I applaud everyone from the much talked about Don Callis and Scott D'Amore, who have been largely responsible, the roster, the ring and set crew, the commentators, the content creators, they all did remarkable work. Four Way Match - Impact defeats Fenix and Williams and Ishimori (11:00) (****), Singles Match - Blanchard defeats Allie (**1/2), House Of Hardcore Match - Edwards defeats Dreamer (***1/4), Impact X-Division Title Match - Cage defeats Sydal (c) (***), Impact Knockouts Title Match - Yung (c) defeats Rayne (**), Impact World Tag Team Title 5150 Street Fight - LAX (Ortiz & Santana, w/Konnan) (c) defeat The OGz (Hernandez & Homicide, w/King) (****), Hair Vs. Mask Match - Pentagon Jr. defeats Callihan (****1/4), Impact World Title Match - Aries (c) defeats Moose (****)."

That's even taking into account the fact that that match was almost ridiculously predictable as to who would win as soon as it was announced. Callihan losing was more predictable than Curt Hawkins losing on Main Event on any given week. I mean there's absolutely no way that Mexican wrestling would allow Pentagon Jr. to lose his mask for f'ing Impact, let's be honest. But I digress. It was a great match nonetheless. Fortunately, Impact had the obvious worst match on the card, Yung vs. Rayne, go the shortest amount of time; good decision there. The rest of the matches ranged from good to great."

"This truly was 10 points aka very good. The production, booking, timing, flow, commentary, interviews, segments etc. everything was top notch and lively crowd kept the atmosphere up all show. This was not an indie show were matches drag on, this was a big production PPV. So to accomplish great show dynamic, but also have so many great matches at the same time, is a fine line and rarely seen these days. First 5 matches all being under 15 minutes gave it a great warm up. Then the last 3, which were the "meat" of the show, truly delivered on all fronts, and all were different style. Four Way Match (***½) Brilliant opener. Tessa Blanchard vs Allie (***¼) They stepped it up. Allie can go. Eddie Edwards vs Tommy Dreamer (***¼) Basic Dreamer. Knows how to tell a good story in under 12 mins and wrap it in hardcore. Underrated heel finish how they teased with the lighter fluid. Brian Cage vs Matt Sydal (***½) Big impact stuff. Brilliant finish. As realistic as it can be. Su Yung vs Madison Rayne (**) LAX vs Hernandez & Homicide (***¾-****) Just what it needed to be. All over, crazy atmosphere and enough violence and bumps. Pentagon Jr. vs Sami Callihan (****½+) Wow! They portrayed an epic struggle in 18 mins, which was filled with hard hits. The blood and spikes were icing on the cake. Austin Aries vs Moose (***½-***¾) Highly competitive, good dynamic. It was able to establish enough heat from the crowd and get them invested. Did good with the time they were given. This might be the best mainstream show so far this year IMO."

[7.0] "Opener: ***1/2. This was exactly what you thought it would be, a no psychology car crash spot fest. It was pretty good. Good crowd too. Tag title match: ***3/4. Wild brawl as expected. I was worried about Hernandez's work wouldn't be up to par. He was fine in this, better than fine really. Homicide took alot of punishment in this. LAX were great as usual. Feud's not over, which makes me happy. Callihan/Penta: NR. This wasn't for me. Saw the CM rating and i thought i'd give it a try. I don't like Sami Callihan on a personal level, so i make a point not to watch his matches. This is what i thought it would be. It's not for me. I'll admit it was good by the end. If you like these type of matches, you'll enjoy this. Moose/Aries: ****. Great main event. Everything i saw was good. Good to see IMPACT doing things right. Still need to replace Josh Matthews. Very good show."

[9.0] "4 way was crazy fun. Fenix was the MVP as he continues his great year, ****. Allie/Tessa exceeded my expectations as Tessa put on a good performance here. Allie is awesome and worked a very different style than what she normally does. Great stuff, ***3/4. Edwards/Dreamer was an alright plunder match. Eddie is such a bad actor that it's actually great. Dreamer had his best in ring showing all year but the weird finish brings it down, ***. Cage/Sydal was a really good title match. Both men were great here and Sydal sold his ass off for Cage. Botch at the end was scary but it didnt take away from the match, ****. Yung/Rayne was the only thing I didnt like. Outside of Yung's character work this was pretty boring, **1/4. Lax/OGz is my TNA moty. Hate filled fight with Hernandez and Homicide being motivated despite being gassed later on. Santana and Ortiz are one of the best tags in the world and were just so good in this match. Eddie and Konnan played their roles well as they have this entire feud. Finish was fucking awesome with the thumbtacks too. Love this match, ****1/2. Pentagon/Callihan was entertaining violence. These always try to kill each other and this was different. Not much to say expect it was great, ****1/2. Aries/Moose was a very good main event and the best match of Moose's career. He used his athleticism and size very well here and Aries was the perfect dickhead heel to eat all of his offense. People may not like Aries but I don't know how you can say he isn't a great wrestler. From the promos to this match, he was outstanding. Great match to close out a great show."

[8.0] "This PPV was a testament to just how much incredible work Callis and D'Amore have done to make Impact a respectable wrestling product again. Even a year ago, something like this would've seemed inconceivable. But with the TV tapings making for some very consistent and palatable viewing over the past few months and the solid Redemption PPV, they were a perfect lead-in to this! If you didn't think Impact hadn't turned a corner before this, well it certainly did after Slammiversary XVI. Not a single bad match, plenty of hard hitting, fast-paced action, a packed crowd appreciative of what they saw and the final three matches are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. Additionally, the No DQ stips in a few matches didn't distract from the wrestling as they all served unique purposes. Also tonight was a reminder how Impact were the unsaid originators of the 'women's evolution' with a showcase on a strong Knockouts division. Tessa Blanchard may be the best woman wrestler in North America today, so what a great signing for Impact! You have to check out Fenix's lightning speed, it's a thing of beauty. A highly commendable rebound for a company that had a very uncertain future not long ago."

I watch a lot of wrestling and that was honestly one of the best matches I've seen all year. Dreamer/Edwards was decent. The 5150 Street Fight was great . Homicide and Hernández looked amazing considering how old they are. That was the match I was the most excited for on the card and it delivered. Callihan Vs Pentagon was as brutal and bloody as all Hair vs Mask matches should be. This card had an old school ECW feel and I mean that in the best way possible. Lots of blood and brawling but it was all used wisely and told a lot of interesting stories. The opening four way is the only must see match of the card but everything else was fine and that's remarkable for an Impact PPV."
