| 1 | 29.01.2026 | Erdrick | 5.0 | It's amazing the extent that week-to-week free television booking took away from what could've easily been a better show if they'd treated this like something that people had to pay to watch. The business model of "WCW Thunder, but you have to pay for it, " was doomed to failure and TNA was set to improve shortly hereafter when its weekly show was on free to watch TV and its PPVs switched to monthly affairs with much better content. The opener was used to set up a future match. The main event was used to further a storyline. The penultimate match was used to further a storyline. The tag title match was used to further a storyline. Johnny Swinger will not stop staring at his own tits while jiggling them. Raven tried to burn Sonjay Dutt to death and the commentators were more concerned that the clothes of The Sheik might've been damaged. Aside from the dire Disco Inferno/Swinger/Young feud with a referee that formed a Charybdis of embarrassment that Odysseus would've been hard-pressed to escape, this show was just mediocre. Average. Bland. Tasteless. I'm half-hoping the the Sabu vs Raven match coming up at some point will be a glorious spectacle of violence, but the overall quality of these shows provides the doubtful other half. |
