"Houston Wrestling 01/13/84 – Butch Reed/Tito Santana: should be good. Boesch, a fan of Tito's, put him over during a tourney three years back. Tito starts out strong holding on to a left arm bar for awhile. Butch is upset, as he argues w/ the ref, Tito’s pulling on his trunks. Butch’s leg scissors -> on-the-mat Tito’s got a headlock. Back to their feet and Butch hits a nice back suplex (not a backdrop Boesch) to turn the tide. Butch kicks Tito out of the ring, S side, and bullies him a bit. Tito does work to get a sunset flip from the E, but Butch remains on top. A front headlock, is it a choke? , on-the-mat w/ Butch’s feet on the S ropes to further irritate the fans. Tito gets up but Butch uses Tito’s momentum to run him uncomfortably into the E ropes. 2nd rope fist but only a 2. Back to the front headlock. Tito’s up and basically gutwrenches Reed over. Both men on their feet but Tito wins the battle for a vertical suplex. Irish whip -> double knock-a-knocker. Reed misses a 2nd rope elbow drop from the NW buckle. Tito shine but misses a 2nd dropkick. Reed sets Tito up for a piledriver but Tito backdrops him over. Reed Irish Whips -> Tito ducks the cl -> hits the Flying Jalapeno (Heenan) for the pin after about 18. Pretty good outside Reed’s restholds. The Coliseum is in bedlam. Tito’s (heavyset) bro in an orange trucker’s hat celebrates w/ him from the W apron. 5. 5 Jose Lothario/Black Gordman: A return match against a red tank-top/tights dude. Is Jose a Libra b/c that sign is supposed to produce a disproportionate amount of Lotharios. The heel jumps on ‘The Superstar’ who’s clad in Indianapolis Colts colors. Jose fights back with his short “famous” fist from the SE buckle. Babyface vengeance! Jose’s a southpaw slugger. The match ='s punching. In all his rage/momentum, Jose pushes the ref down and I assume is DQ’d but in fact both men are DQ’d. I don’t see why as all Gordman did was to serve as Lothario’s battered ram. The crowd elevated this. 4. 75"
