The man didn't pay the talent he thought he could get away with not paying and the ones he couldn't, he didn't unless they spoke up. He was a good salesman and motivator for his roster and that's good because he had to be or else ECW would've shuttered it's door long before 2001. The guy couldn't accept that he had to tone down aspects of his product if he wanted to go national. Instead he thought his tiny niche audience would somehow carry ECW to more ratings and ppvs buys? If Heyman had compromised with the network and sponsors instead of acting like a petulant brat it may have worked out. Would WWF become "attitude" and been as popular? There's no way of knowing. We only know Heyman has never been mature enough. |
