[MJF makes his entrance after Jay White has won his match against Adam Page]

MJF: "Nah, nah, nah! Cut my music, Cut my music! [MJF paces on the stage, seething with anger, "MJF"] Look at me, Jay White, you son of a bitch! You wanted the main event match. Bright lights, fight you for the World Title. You got it! You're welcome. Now give me back the Triple B! [The crowd chants "Give it back!"] Be a man!"

Jay White: "Hey...Hang on. Hang on. I just took it to 4-0 with Hangman. Can you please repeat that, Max? Nah. Nah. Nah. No. We don't wanna hear anymore from MJF." [The crowd boos] "No. No. We wanna hear from J... A... Y. Hey, hey, hey... [he makes a shushing gesture to the crowd] Your scumbag wants the Triple B. You want the Bang Bang Belt? [the crowd starts chanting "shut the fuck up!"] Well. I was... I was gonna say 'yes', until you were so rude, so the answer's no, sorry. [loud boos] Their fault."

MJF: "Okay. Okay. Okay. You know what. I'll be the bigger man here. Jay, Jay, I know you better than you know you, because I WAS you, and frankly, I'm still not that far off, but Lord knows I am trying. You are the guy who doesn't give a damn about anybody else. You will do whatever it takes to get what you want. You will use people. You will abuse people. You will mame people. Matter of fact, those guys standing around you that you claim to care about deep down? You and I both know you could give less of a shit about any of those three! You are using them to get where you wanna be, and I would know, Jay, because that is right out of the MJF playbook. But unlike you, Jay, every day I wake up and do the hardest thing. I wake up and I try to be a better man. And it is hard. I hate it, but deep down, I know it's working because for the first time in my life, when I look into the mirror, I ain't punching the reflection. Because for the first time in my life, I have earned their respect.

[The crowd cheers loudly in response]

Now, Jay White. There are two things in this life that I care about. My brother, Adam Cole, who is out right now, injured, and needs two surgeries, and that's my cross to bear, as me dealing with your shit wasn't enough. And then there is that title you are holding, but you call it a belt. My friend, that ain't a belt. That is my livelihood. THAT is my LEGACY. Because when you win the AEW World Title that makes you THE BEST WRESTLER IN THE GODDAMN WORLD! Now, Jay, I hate your guts. Matter of fact, if those schmucks weren't surrounding you, I would've already broken your legs and your neck and taken back what is mine. Trust me on that. However, However… I do not let that cloud my judgment. Jay White, I know how talented you are, I know your next level, I know you're elite, and I know I am sure some day you will join the very exclusive club of being an AEW World Champion. However, that day is not today. Do you understand me? So I'm gonna ask you to do the hard thing for once in your life. I'm gonna ask you to do what I've done. Dig deep. Be the bigger man, show some dignity and respect. Not to me but to the sport to All Elite Wrestling, and to these fans and give me back what you have not yet earned."

[The camera cuts to Bullet Club Gold in the ring in hysterics, with Juice Robinson in particular on the floor laughing]

Jay White: "You're just coming out here and asking me to give it back to you? How is that earning it? But, first off., tank you for coming and asking face-to-face so nicely instead of jumping at me from behind in your cute little devil mask. But you're just asking for this. I don't know if you know how this works. You can't just ask for this. Like you just said, You have to earn it. You have to win it officially in a match, and you have a match coming up on the 18th. Los Angeles, Kia Forum. Full Gear! You have that match so be patient. You'll get your chance. Where you'll... fail. But, but Max, Max, Max...If you can't be patient and you can't wait like you just said, you could just come on down and take it. But something tells me, with us five here, you don't have your gimp squad. There's no Adam Cole, you have no friends so you ain't coming down. But I'll tell you what, You find three people that can simply tolerate you, Let alone team up with you, you come and put your four up against our Bang Bang Gang and if you win maybe you'll get the Bang Bang Belt back. Four Bs."

Juice Robinson: "Hey, Hey. Yeah, and Friedman, before you leave, Friedman. I heard through the grapevine that next week there's a Dynamite Diamond Dozen Battle Royal, baby! There's a chance to win that stupid ring that you care about so much. So I threw my name in because I'm gonna win the Battle Royal. I'm gonna whoop your ass. I'm gonna take your ring and we're gonna have everything that you love, you idiot, and then guess what? When that's all done, I'm gonna give you a little present. Something you're really gonna like. I already got it wrapped!

[Juice Robinson reaches into his pants to take out a roll of quarters]

There you go, right there. [The camera zooms in to show it has "Friedman" written on the roll of quarters] I don't know if you can see it, but it's got your name on it, buddy ol' boy. Right there, Friedman. Ten dollars worth. You know what I do with these, sonny Jack! I BREAK IT INTO JAWS. So after we ruin your life, I'm gonna put a roll of quarters in my hand--"

MJF: "HEY, HEY. YOU COME NEAR ME WITH THOSE QUARTERS, I'LL END YOUR LIFE, YOU PIECE OF SHIT."

[MJF throws the microphone down angrily and leaves while Bullet Club Gold pretends to be afraid]

Jay White: "Hey. Hey. Hey. This goes to him and this goes to you. MJF. If you ain't down with that we got two words for ya! Gunns up! YEAH!"
Note: This promo makes substantial reference to MJF's 2022 "I will not quit" promo, in which he recounted anti-Semitic bullying he experienced at school.

[6.0] "The actual promo was pretty good. This storyline needed some legs to get going and they got desperate and went with this angle which I can obviously see why it upsets & offends people. It's a touchy subject that I'm not too comfortable trying to excuse, but I gotta give a reason why I'm not giving this a low score and this promo did the job for me and doesn't affect me personally. I do like how it's a callback & in kayfabe it is a clever way to exploit MJF's weakness that he himself laid the trap for. Jay White still doesn't quite have his promo & character work down but I guess that's what this feud is meant to do. Allow him the chance to sink or swim. I do think he should've had a mid card run first. Being IWGP Champion isn't enough to qualify for a Main Event star in an American promotion."

[0.0] "I remember watching this live, and slowly realizing what direction they were going, and just begging for a swerve to come up but... Nope. People had been talking about potentially using MJF's childhood bullying story for heat ever since he first cut the promo, and it had always been an absolutely stupid idea. And now here it was. And by the time Dynamite rolled around, we get barely any mention of this whole promo, because they realized they utterly screwed the pooch. If you wanna see why stories like this don't work in wrestling, look at Booker T vs. Triple H from 2003. This whole medium is about overacting and melodrama, with a side of flips and fists. So when it turns it's eyes towards something like... This. You struggle to take that shit seriously. Jim Neidhart attacking Virgil while wearing a KKK costume isn't exactly 12 Years A Slave. Ontop of that, there's a lack of barrier between a wrestling character, and the wrestler who portrays it IRL, that makes this sort of stuff insanely weird when you think about it for even a second, that you (usually) don't get with actors. Cause like... Juice Robinson (the character) is an anti-semite now. Just like how Triple H (the character), is a racist. This isn't like an actor playing a nazi general in one role, and a warm-hearted teacher in the next. In kayfabe, these are the same guys... It's just weird, stupid, and offputting."

HOWEVER, that is me reaching so hard that my shoulder might pop out of its socket. Just... no. Let's not do shit like this. AEW is supposed to be the progressive company. And I had totally forgotten that this was only three days after 10/7. Unreal that they would even consider something like this. Does nobody remember Muhammad Hassan? At least WWE can say they filmed the angle BEFORE the terrorist attack occurred. And, regardless of all that other stuff, there's one big issue: Babyface MJF in 2023 SUUUUUCKED, and this storyline with Jay White was its nadir. I'm only giving it a 1 because at least the delivery was on point."

The only way to achieve the first thing it's saying "well, until the show is over, this is the real life", and in real life there is no place for this type of comments. You can do it in most TV shows, but wrestling isn't the place. That's at least how I see it. The previous part of the segment was ok."

[3.0] "The early parts of this promo were pretty good but the longer it went, the worse it got. Let's get it out of the way first. The controversy with Juice Robinson using anti-semitism as heel heat. I understand the story they were going for but that has ZERO place in professional wrestling especially nowadays. The fact this was 2 years ago is shocking. Another problem with this segment is that it's so long. It feels like they keep dragging it on and on and it makes MJF look kinda weak. One final issue I have: Jay White here is horribly annoying on another level. He repeats the things he says. It's awful. [*3/4]"

[0.0] "Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear. There are some times when a promo fails because they didn't try hard enough. And then there are some where the promo fails because they tried too hard, and like a gymnast way out of their depth, they not only not stick the landing, but get compound fractures in bones you didn't know existed. It's clear what MJF wanted to do here: he wanted to use wrestling, and in particular, this feud, as a form of speaking out against racism, in particular, anti-Semitism. A noble aim! But, it was wholly inappropriate for everybody to be fantasy booking hate crimes back in the summer of 2023, let alone just days after events in the Middle East sent people into having an ultra-fine hair-trigger. And don't come at me with the "Juice has done the quarters spot before" excuse; it was clear that they were effectively trying to use anti-Semitism for heel heat, and they did not give it the due care and attention such a storyline needs. Sure, MJF went over in the end and the morality play of "racism is bad" was able to be told, but it's still incredibly uncomfortable, incredibly inappropriate, and. everyone involved deserves the criticism the angle got."
