Mariah May: "Okay, Tony, let's get this shit over with."

Tony Schiavone: "And now, her opponent coming up at Grand Slam Australia: Toni Storm!"

[Toni enters as her 'Rockstar' persona. She offers a handshake to Mariah, which is refused]

Mariah May: "When I look at you, I see nothing. When I think about you, I feel nothing. And in the hearts of every one of these fans, you are nothing. You are a joke. You are a meme. They laugh at you, and then they forget about you, just like I always knew they would. I do not care about you. I have never cared about you. You were just the dumbest, easiest pawn I used to dominate this entire game. And if I have to remind you again, in Australia, so be it. Because as good as I feel right now, I will get off humiliating you in your hometown."

Toni Storm: "Mariah May, I am your biggest fan. Everything you've done, I've seen it, from the UK, to Japan, to here in AEW. You're amazing! You're an inspiration! And one day, I want to be just like you.

[Toni hugs Mariah. After a few seconds, Mariah pushes Toni away and slaps her. Mariah proceeds to beat her down with the belt until security escort her out of the ring.]

What makes you think that I've forgotten? [crowd cheers] What makes you think our dance is done? Each scar, every drop of blood, I will feel forever. But now, it's my moment in the sun! [Toni removes the elements of her 'Rockstar' outfit, to reveal herself in her 'Timeless' persona]

They say the hardest role you will ever play is yourself! But what you've just witnessed is the performance of a lifetime! Mariah May, you may be the woman from hell, but you came from my womb, and I will shove you back in there and spit you out, for I am timeless, timeless, 'Timeless' Toni Storm, and I'm going to rip your tits off!"

When she started channeling Timeless again, my jaw hit the floor. The emotion in the promo was AMAZING. Definitely up there as my favorite AEW promo and just in general one of my favorite promos of the last decade."

(This could be a psychological issue I have myself...) Two critiques though; I wouldn't have had Toni receive a beat down, instead do the hug and have her surprise Mariah with a beat down of her own. Also, before that, Mariah should've gone more in-depth into why Toni means "nothing" to her. Other than that, though, it was a solid promo."

[10.0] "AEW is at its very best when they're on the back foot. This Toni/Mariah sequel feud was almost entirely dead before this, I felt as if the payoff was just far too obvious. But this was masterful. Toni Storm is an absolute god at this in-your-face character work and seems in her element being absurd. But also worthy of praise is Mariah, who somehow managed to command less airtime as champion than she did as Toni's rookie. But whenever she got time over these past 6 or so months, she's been unbelievable. Credit to both, this was standout stuff."

The way Toni delivers every single line in this promo is just perfect, the structure of the entire segment and arc is perfect, I'm REALLY glad they chose to strike while the iron is hot rather than dragging it out too long (RJ City, I see you, you're a god damn legend). Toni screaming "TIMELESS, TIMELESS, TIMELESS TONI STORM" as the audience roars behind her is just so fucking legendary. To me, this moment solidifies Toni's spot amongst the greatest wrestlers of this generation. She's just that special."

But everybody was fussing about the "rookie" character and how they were tired of it. So she comes out as "timeless" now instead of closer to the show? Who cares? There is still time to have more promo's or more interactions. I actually had chills when I heard "what makes you think that we're done". And just the look on Mariah's face was utterly priceless. It was such a great promo!"

[10.0] "Phenomenal. I was drifting in and out of being entertained while watching the show and even when this segment started, but when Toni uttered those words ("What makes you think I've forgotten? "), a chill went down my spine. The way she spoke every syllable, dropping her Australian accent and going into whatever form of classic high English that is she is doing in her "Timeless" persona, it was so perfect. Very, very rarely can I remember that a single moment of a promo ascends to god-tier alone. Funnily enough, this segment is compared online to Mankind revealing the Cactus Jack shirt against Triple H back in January 2000 and I agree, as for me this part elicited the same emotional response, one of excitement and genuine interest in what's happening on the screen. Based on this promo alone I think these two should main event the Australian PPV, I really do."

Presenting herself as the doe-eyed rookie and as "Mariah May's biggest fan" (a reversal of how May came in when she started in AEW), May thought Storm was easy prey and beat her down. However, Storm planned for it, and used the aftermath to reveal that she was still Timeless, reeling May in mentally, and gaining the upper hand going into Grand Slam Australia. While I'm disappointed Storm's charade only lasted a month, the pop at Daily's Place when the switch flipped was well worth it to maintain her spot as the biggest star in AEW's women's division. Let's see what else they get up to for the next few weeks."

I thought AEW would ruin it, but using it to infiltrate back into the title picture to only expose that she was always Timeless was absolutely brilliant.
