"The feud between Kenny Omega and Hangman Adam Page is one of the greatest long-term stories in modern wrestling. Built over years with layered character development, heartbreak, friendship, and redemption, it made every major moment feel earned. Their emotional performances elevated every match, culminating in a payoff that was as satisfying as it was unforgettable. It's a masterclass in long-form storytelling that showed how compelling professional wrestling can be at its best."
[10.0] "I started watching wrestling again around the time this story started and it is one of the greatest long term stories Ive been a part of. From the tag team run and the little details they did week to week then to them breaking up and the changes in Kennys and Hangmans characters. When we finally reached the conclusion at full gear it wasnt only an amazing match but an amazing conclusion to their story."
[10.0] "This is the pinnacle (no pun intended) of AEW's storytelling. Two friends who were lost in the shuffle and rankings teamed up together as champions, which soon ended up disband of loss and arrogance, making them enemies. This is where I start to appreciate long term storytelling and it was worth to watch."
[10.0] "When Kenny and Hangman first came to AEW, they suffered big loss after big loss. They eventually found success as a team, even winning the tag titles. After they lost them, Kenny left Hangman and found singles success while Hangman still struggled. Eventually, Page found friends in The Dark Order while Kenny won the AEW Title alongside The Elite. Adam and Kenny then played the long game, eventually leading to an all time classic at Full Gear where Hangman won the title. The build was a slow burn with teases and the payoff was all that much better."
[10.0] "In the early years of AEW's existence, Adam Page was one of the most interesting characters, whose development was very interesting to watch. His formation included several stages, including a showdown with Young Bucks, friendship with Dark Order, winning tag team titles with Kenny Omega and his long-awaited triumph when, after all the changes that had happened to him, Adam, who believed in himself, was able to defeat his former partner for the first time in the walls of AEW, which became a very significant moment in the company's history."
[6.0] "A good if not sometimes overdramatic feud. AEW built up their eventual showdown very slow but it paid off well in the end. Some aspects of the story didn't entirely work for me, I can't personally regard this as legendary."
[7.0] "Good but went too long and the rest of the show had to take a back seat which was a problem as AEW was growing rapidly at this time and so was the roster. Omega as a heel doesn't do much for me personally and Adam Page hanging out with the Dark Order and being an alcoholic was not a good way to build a babyface imo and is a big reason his title reign didn't catapult him into the top babyface that people were expecting."
[10.0] "This rivalry made that our Cowboy Shit could be recognized more within the industry (although he already was), it was the golden opportunity for his career and with Omega in front of him everything could go well."
[10.0] "This rivalry was enrapturing and huge for the time. The story developed since the start of AEW in different ways and (even now) will end up returning to it when Kenny comes back. The pay off will be not one of violence but one returning to friendship, the deepest friendship in AEW."
[10.0] "The closet thing that North American wrestling has to mirror the legendary Jumbo Tsuruta vs. Mitsuharu Misawa feud/rivalry. That being that in the end, it's supposed to culminate in a "Passing of the Torch" moment. This rivalry gave Hangman Page the rub by being alongside AEW's most treasured superstar performer, the great Kenny Omega, who even himself at first had issues with living up to the hype & fanfare that he built for himself due to his legendary NJPW run. Together they had one of the most memorable Tag Team Title reigns over the last 5-10 years of any wrestling promotion in the world. Then after they lost the titles, Kenny ditched him, went solo, turned heel, won the World Title, & formed a heel version of "The Elite". From there it was up to Hangman to find his self-confidence, sober up, ante up, and chase down his former tag team partner to capture the World Title, and bring him back down to earth. Hangman had a few setbacks & failures, but the constant support of the the AEW fans & the support of The Dark Order meant that he could not let anyone, & more importantly himself down, and eventually he earned another World Title match, stood up to Kenny, defeated him and won the World Title. This is one of the best stories told in pro wrestling over the last decade. Well Done. Hangman Page is now positioned to become the new ACE of AEW."
[10.0] "One of the best rivalries in modern wrestling that told a compelling story in and out of the ring. Despite promos not being either's strong suit. They made it work in all segments."
[10.0] "One of the great stories ever told in modern wrestling. From Hangman's early failures to win the AEW title. The tag title run and the match vs the Young Bucks and the FTR feud. The world title eliminator match. Then Omegas title run and Hangman's story with The Dark Order. Then the eventual world title match which was a great blow off to this top notch rivalry."
[10.0] "This rivalry wasn't just about the main players, it also involved the Young Bucks, the Dark Order, FTR and several others. This went back to Adam Page being invited to join the Bullet Club while in Ring of Honor, and his time on Being The Elite. Tensions rose in the early days of AEW Dynamite, when Page tried to quit The Elite, and ended up as one half of the AEW Tag Team Champions alongside Kenny Omega. Others tried to cause problems, including the Bucks, who Page cost a shot at the titles on the behest of FTR who were playing Page for their own gains, and all the issues led to The Elite's relationship with Page exploding. Throughout 2021, Page worked on his confidence issues, helped by his friends in the Dark Order, to the point where he challenged Omega for the AEW World Title, winning at Full Gear. Incredible long term storytelling on many levels."
