[5.0] "Loved it as a kid and a teenager in the attitude era. some amazing wrestlers over the years (we all have our own list). Very bullish business practices though, treat people like crap for years because they could, outright lied multiple times over the years. All of a sudden they have had to get their act together due to competition popping up and they are loved again, the scandals lasted a week before people just got excited by the rock. Well played WWE, well played. They change history, they ignore the truth, its mad how much people forget."

[4.0] "pro wrestling without any entertainment. And their recent tenure (Having to cancel an event because the ring they rented broke down after one match due to improper set up, then issuing a public statement blaming one of the wrestlers in order to save face) isn't going to help. To their credit though, their communication staff speaks and writes proper French. Let's see if they ever evolve their product."

[6.0] "Grapple MAX is okay. They have good matches and their social media is really great, but other than that I feel things to be a bit artificial. They are trying to mimic japanese wrestling but they should no singapore is more suited to the hollywood style entertainment any that is why no matter what they do they can never overtake SPW. I appreciate them, but their style is not for me. Good talent though, and breaking boundaries with NJPW is great, but yet to even see a NJPW wrestler come."

[8.0] "Very good promotion, and honestly probably my favorite promotion to watch. I really enjoy SPW but I have to be honest there are a lot of issues. For example, Aiden reign too long, always needs to face international talent, local stars like Butcher, Gore, Arrow not getting any pushes. It feels like foreign talent is prioritized over local, so many guys deserve title runs and no one is getting it. But other than that I love SPW. Top tier matches, best presentation in SEA, amazing production value, it really is a phenomenal promotion."

[7.0] "AEW seems to be at a rising period again after the failure of late 2023 to early 2024. Revolution & The Dynamite Reboot really helped AEW in so many ways. It had that old AEW feeling again that everyone misses and we have some banger matches on TV lately but theirs still those issues prevelent. We still have the Undisputed Kingdom storyline which seems to be at a roadblock until MJF returns. Still have those start and stop pushes, An overcrowded roster and even with the signing of Mercedes Mone it seems like the ratings haven't changed. The Trios Championships are useless, The Women's World Title is being treated poorly and it seems that AEW forgot that the TBS title exists [***3/4]."

[6.0] "I had a hard time enjoying this but when I did, all was well. First they absorbed World Class, when that company was very close to worthless (but that angle *was* well done). Then they became the "new" Memphis, which felt like the old Memphis minus excitement and intrigue. Then they become a farm system for the WWF and gained a little steam. Said steam turned into a giant wet spot on the floor and the end was a slippery slope to nowhere. Some gold in there even with all of the caveats: When they were still doing shows at The Sportatorium: Cactus Jack! The time in Texas didn't last long though. Downtown Bruno was a far better character and name than Harvey Wippleman (wrestlecrap name btw). You got to see Mo and Mabel NOT suck as The Harlem Knights. You got to see The Rock before he was The Rock but he was still kinda The Rock anyway. Things like PG-13 fucking SUCKED (pardon my language but they *were* gawdawful garbage water). Steve Doll looked like he finally belonged somewhere with the USWA. Brickhouse Brown had some good stuff here and might have been his peak as a worker. I was feeling most of Doug Gilbert's work there and before she was "Jacqueline" she was Miss Texas and she was AWESOME. As you see, I will glow about as much as I will poo on; this always results in a middle score no matter what, when, where or who you are in wrestling. 5.5"

[10.0] "What's the fucking point in giving a low rating to the largest professional wrestling company in the world? The WWE is the reason why I'm here right now, and the reason why I've been so heavily indulged in the professional wrestling industry for over seven years."

Between its monopolization of the industry in the 80s, its proliferation of absolutely horrendous business practices, its history of sexual, emotional, and physical abuse backstage, and its dealings with Saudi Arabia, WWE is a poison to the professional wrestling industry and even worse from a moral standpoint."

[6.0] "Leading up to their first anniversary, I'd say that Evolution is still working to grow out from under the shadow of AJPW. The first rookie class was small, but promising, yet the fact is that all of their events are extremely predictable while the guest performers are very hit or miss (although one of the new idol groups seems to have some acclaim with the fans). Chi Chi and Zones are great, but there's a ceiling to the appeal of watching them lose matches to more established talent in the scene, even if those matches are longer and take more risks when compared to their appearances in other promotions. Still, I give Evolution credit for being consistent and booking matches that I personally look forward to."

[6.0] "I wasn't alive when WCW was airing. However, that doesn't mean that I am not going to rate it for what it is. I'd say from 1988 to 1994 is when WCW was at its absolute best in my opinion. Anything after 1994 was red hot garbage in my opinion. Sure nWo was very red hot in 1996, but I was never really invested in the nWo. For me, the nWo was just a bunch of older guys stroking their own ego to stay relevant. While they did get some relevance, it ended up biting them in the ass later on. WCW in the late 80s and early 90s were the best. Guys like Barry Windham, Big Van Vader, Dustin Rhodes, Brian Pillman, Steve Austin, Z-Man, Arn Anderson, Ric Flair, Steiners, made WCW worth watching In my opinion. WCW in the mid 90s to early 00s was just an ego power trip that got grounded by WWF."

[7.0] "When I started watching NJPW in early 2016, I was blown away by their matches. Some of the best matches I have ever seen are in New Japan. The Okada/Tanahashi feud, the Naito redemption and the rise of Omega are fantastic. However, everything seems to go downhill since the Covid Pandemic. The stories have been repetitive, dire and boring. The top belt holders remain the same while the rest of the roster seems to be soulless. And it got even worse since the creation of HoT - the product of Gedo's obsession with North American overbooking. If you are looking forward to a bright future after the departures of Okada and Ospreay, I am afraid I got some bad news, as of March 2024. I still like the Promotion but my interest has not been the same."

[9.0] "By far the best bang for your buck in Japan at the moment. The roster is small, but it is quite good. They may have the best young talent in the country, and there talent around the top title matches any other company in the country. When it comes to live shows, you would be hard pressed to find a company that will put on a better show. AJPW will generally provide a better card than any other company, barring a major monthly show from a top company."

[] "TNA 2002 2009 9/10 TNA 2010 2013 7/10 Perhaps 2007 has been their best season. There have been seasons where the characterizations of their personas has been great, and their extra ring was at the same levels as the in ring quality. What was great was their innovative style mixing strong style and high flying moves with great TV production, they had great teams, the X Division, innovative gimmick matches like the Ultimate X, the King of the mountain match, hardcore matches, and at one point they introduced the women's division which for the American wrestling standards at that time, has been innovative too, they even introduced the women tag team's titles.Jeff Jarrett is the founder, their best products over the years have been AJ Styles, Samoa Joe, Abyss, Awesome Kong, Daniels, Gail Kim, Monty Brown, Hernandez, James Storm, Bobby Roode, Chris Sabin, Alex Shelley, Low Ki, Austin Aries, Petey Williams, Kazarian and their best acquisitions over the years have been Sting, Jeff Hardy, Jerry Lynn, Kurt Angle, Christian, Team 3d, Scott Levy, Sabu , Rhyno, Scott Steiner, Elix Skipper, Kevin Nash, Booker T, Mick Foley (he should have been in there as manager for other years) RVD(It would have been awesome if he would have been hired even before 2010, like in 2006 2007), Shane Douglas (very good as interviewer), Tomko, Flair. Thanks to Jeff Jarrett, Dixie Carter, Vince Russo, Dutch Mantell, Jim Cornette, Scott D'Amore, Rhodes, Jeremy Borash, Eric Bischoff and Hulk Hogan. In 2017 they had a good momentum again with the GFW, they had deals with other promotions.Other great acquisitions over the years Lashley, The Wolves, Matt Sydal, Moose. At one point they had a title based on points"

[8.0] "its a fun promotion. does go from barley any violence to a shit ton of violence at times but it more than makes up for it by having top tier wrestlers and great wrestling. not gonna lie. this promotion feels like they're right behind TNA in terms of them going for the 3rd best American promotion out there today. I think them being more indie instead of tv shows helps them a ton and adds to the charm. ill also add that its seemingly great people who run the company that obviously love wrestling to death. great merch too for gcw if you'd wanna rep them"

[9.0] "[2023-2024: 4.50/5.00] This is an overall rating of WWE for the years 2023 to 2024 Present Day, it's probably the hottest it has ever been since the glorious Attitude Era days and the numbers, facts, and stats speak for themselves and those are reflected on the booking of the programming weekly and monthly PPVs, where rarely anything has been missed or fumbled. Where every wrestler and character matters, where no one is treated as a joke anymore. WWE has changed a lot from the awful days between 2017 - 2019 [0.50/5.00] overpushing of unwanted stars and elevating them to stardom, and as a result we get matches that are currently changing the landscape of wrestling itself. A new era of wrestling has emerged where wrestling has resurged in mainstream eyes, where it's resurged to pop culture phenomenon, and that is mostly how well WWE has been doing for structuring their cards, wrestlers and even their business models. Sure, everyone has their flaws with WWE, whether by wrestling or the controversies behind it, least I'm having fun with it and that's all that matters to me, and that's all what I asked for, it's still not perfect."

[9.0] "I just wanna watch some matches, and AEW is the best promotion for that, they revived my interest in wrestling and have gotten me to fall in love with it as an art form. They take risks and try and show you just how extensive the wrestling world is with featuring hundreds of wrestlers and have bettered the wrestling landscape to elevate itself past the American dark ages of the 2010's. CM Punk's run in the company has certified me as a lifelong watcher and the company rewards dedicated viewers with consistently great matches on TV, can't miss PPVs, and a directional hype train that goes year round. Always something to look forward to and they rarely disappoint. The lack of count outs & DQ finishes make the ones that happen more memorable, they always swap around who's on each card so each show feels different from the last, and they have the most stacked roster of great wrestlers in the world."

[7.0] "Someone here said it best, WWE is like the McDonald's of the wrestling world, the most mainstream and marketable wrestling company, obviously 'World' is in the title and they are world-renown as they go all over the world year round sometimes. I can't rate WWE highly due to some controversies in the past, like the mistreatment of women until the mid 2010s, some nefarious scandals that continue to hurt the reputation of the company, the constant pushing of certain wrestlers that shouldn't be pushed (ex. Goldberg), the wasting of wrestlers who are over and/or really good (ex. LA Knight). I could go on and on but I don't want to cherry pick the bad without mentioning the good, like creating successful wrestlers and characters like Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Undertaker, Bret Hart, and several others that have helped define a company and different eras of the WWE. WWE has got almost everything you could possibly want, if you want casual storylines and matches, RAW, Smackdown, and the PLEs are for you! if you want to see the young, bright up and coming wrestlers, NXT is for you! Chances are, you are going to enjoy WWE if you are wanting to get into wrestling for the first time, my introduction to wrestling was from WWE, and I still enjoy the product from time to time, but I do look back and see some negatives with the company, especially with the product sometimes can be hard to watch, WWE had a rough end to the 2010s, with 2017-2019 being the worst years of WWE, however, the company has since rebounded and although I have my criticisms of Triple H as a booker, I think he (along with Shawn Michaels) is doing a really good job."

[7.0] "AEW is without a doubt, one of the most important promotions in the history of the Wrestling Business, A lot has been achieved by this promotion in the last 5 years. From successful PPVs, to the rise of superstars like Jon Moxley and MJF, to must-watch matches, to making Arthur Ashe Stadium wrestling events a year-round tradition (and Wembley soon to be perhaps) and speaking of Wembley, selling tens of thousands of tickets to Wembley in 2023 and so far again in 2024. AEW has also had some great hires like Jon Moxley, MJF, Eddie Kingston, Samoa Joe, Toni Storm, Christian Cage and hopefully a few more soon, not to forget that Sting had one of the greatest retirement matches ever and it will go down in the history books in emotion and triumph. With those positives, there do come some negatives, like the misuse of certain talents that are too good to be wasted, to the really bad hirings of Vickie Guerrero, Saraya, and Parker Bordeaux; the promoting of and pushing of Saraya despite her being a decade off her prime and being one of the MOST hated and obnoxious wrestlers today (I will NEVER forgive TK for the disaster of putting the belt on her at Wembley.), hiring Ric Flair (even though he is a legend so I respect him for that) despite him not really contributing much to the product and being controversial, to the CM Punk debacle and the mishandling of it until the last minute (last minute = termination of contract), to some utterly bad storylines like The Devil, Outcasts vs Originals, and several others that I won't mention. AEW has set a new precedent in Pro Wrestling and has helped define the new era of wrestling, hence the 7 rating. I can't rate them close to a 10 because of some of the negatives plus some other factors like normal US ticket sales and not so much of a casual following, I do hope that casuals give AEW a chance though, as they do have some fairly marketable names and some massive star power."

[9.0] "A lot of gaijin wrestlers in the 70's and 80's preferred to work with Baba over Inoki, make of that what you will. Regardless, Inoki was a trailblazer and set the standard for what the promotion is today. His biggest mistakes nearly killed the company in the early 2000's though. Making your wrestlers fight in mma to prove their toughness was so egotistical and mind bogglingly stupid. Fortunately, with the likes of Tanahashi and Nakamura in the mid-2000's, that changed. To date I think the apex of the company was from 2013-2018. The rise of Okada, Bullet Club, AJ Styles, Kenny Omega, Tanahashi's continued leadership, and so much more made them the best promotion during that time. They slipped a lot during the pandemic but I think in 2023 they've returned to form."

[5.0] ""Death by a thousand cuts" might be a little too dramatic, but every talent exodus since The Elite to now Okada has really diminished what was once the world number two. And it's not that they don't have talent (although there are some obvious duds on the roster), it's that Gedo and his booking team have completely forgotten how to get someone over big time. Where they once had a main event scene worthy of envy, who do they have now if not Naito? New Japan isn't dead, but it would be much more alive without Gedo and co."

Out of any promotion on the scene, GCW does the best job including a variety of styles. You can watch top-tier deathmatches, lucha style, technical wrestling, etc. They have a great staple of younger wrestlers, like Jordan Oliver, Blake Christian, and Alec Price. [5.0] "Roman wins LOL, the story of this company for the past 8 years. They have one of the best rosters in the world but are stationary in who gets the ball. A lot of the wrestlers on their roster have grinded years to get to that point just for them to be in a purgatory of multi-month feuds or being used in a squash match for the flavors of the month. It makes it feel like 80% of their roster can't win a match."

That way is to advise users to stop watching NJPW for the foreseeable future, and watch NOAH instead. Yes, I understand that Kota Ibushi wat completely and utterly screwed over by NOAH, but their top guys are finally worth watching again. Hijo del Wagner Jr is especially the one to watch, as his meteoric rise is like nothing I've ever seen this decade so far."

[5.0] "It's been better since Triple H took over but there are way too many of the old bad habits still present. The main event scene is exactly the same was it was 10 years and even the newer additions like Rhea Ripley has worn out their welcome. Charlotte Flair got a lot of deserved flak for always being in title matches and main events but I don't think I've seen nearly enough for Becky Lynch. How is a multiple time former champion and Royal Rumble winner ever a plucky underdog? They still have the gaudy and ostentatious graphics during entrances, the same signature and finisher spam and kickouts, and, beyond all comprehension, they still have shaking camera movements even thought Kevin Dunn is gone. In early 2024 both the Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber only had 4 matches but the shows were nearly 4 hours. It was littered with commercials, tv show segments, and bizarre chamber of commerce shilling for travel. I keep up with Raw and Smackdown on YouTube and wait for replays for PLEs. That's not the sign of a company that's "firing on all cylinders". If money denotes quality then the Transformer movies are the greatest ever made."

[4.0] "First and foremost I have to say the original run of this company was just awful. A very 1980's show in the 2000's largely untrained wrestlers and cheesy gimmicks. Over the years there has been improvement, mostly they now hire women who have at least worked the indies of course the very cheesy gimmick stick around. They also clearly bring untrained women and well things are still pretty cheesy. I supposed you could say it's good background nose or something you aren't supposed to take to seriously. But I also think there is much better wrestling out there."

And after watching the first two seasons, I loved it. The storylines were great, the vignettes and promos were fun, and I really liked the pace of the matches, taking some elements from american wrestling and some from lucha libre. Some pretty good wrestlers like Pentagón Jr, Rey Fénix, Mil Muertes, Prince Puma and King Cuerno really benefited from their exposure in this company, and I think it's a shame that Lucha Underground was mismanaged and eventually died, but we can still value them for the great breath of fresh air they were for a couple of years."

The cultural legacy of ECW in pro wrestling is massive and unprecedented, you never hear "WCW" or "AWA" chants at WWE events but you hear "ECW" all the time because they had an identity and they left a mark. As I've got older I enjoy ECW less and since watching FMW I do find ECW slightly lacking in the extreme division but still, ECW was good."

End of the day this promotion gave us modern Junior Heavyweight wrestling, it gave us Liger, Tanahashi and Okada, it gave us the Omega-Okada series and I love watching Zack Sabre Jr in NJPW. This promotion for over 50 years has given plenty of great matches (as in all time classics) and plenty of the best ever wrestlers. Is it perfect? not even close but so what? It has more than given enough good to justify a 9."

I have fond memories of attending two TNA TV tapings in London and seeing my wrestling crush Velvet Sky win the knockouts title. I loved Aces and Eights. I loved Bully Ray. I loved Aries and Roode. But looking back, it wasn't actually that good, I was just a 10-12 year old kid. Look, early, pre-Hogan TNA was inconsistent but delivered some absolute gold, like AJ-Daniels-Joe at Unbreakable 2005 or Perc Angle but as I said it was never consistent. After 2014 I've never kept up with TNA much but was glad to see they survived and have some good talent on the roster. The biggest disappointment with TNA is that they didn't learn any of the lessons of WCW, they repeated the stupid gimmick matches, they bought in Russo and Bischoff, and they had so many screwy finishes. But I credit TNA for giving us the X divison and the Knockouts."

[7.0] "WWE/WWF/WWWF is a difficult beast to rate because its been so many different things and even different brands being different things at the same time. Overall, I recognise that the in-ring style of WWE is largely not for me, accept for the period of 2002-2006 I don't think WWE really delivered consistent good in-ring entertainment, but this is probably because I prefer Japanese or Southern Rasslin' or even old European Catch style matches. Lots of the "highlights" of the Hulkamania era for me are just slow, basic matches that don't engage me (although weirdly I do enjoy Hogan v Andre), and I find the attitude era to have been the definition of a mixed bag, so the two golden eras of WWF slightly let me down, current WWE's in ring product is....fine, but as I said, its just not my style. I'm also one of those people who watches wrestling for the wrestling and WWE prefers to focus on promo's and storyline segments, which personally doesn't do it for me. All that being said the WWE has produced some of the best matches of all time and some iconic teams and stables, so I can't be too harsh. But its worth noting that WWE also wasted some of the best opportunities in wrestling with the Invasion storyline and the re-vamped ECW. A 7 is probably fair but its far from a favourite of mine."

There is always something to enjoy on a stardom show, and stardom can be a very fun viewing experience, and I don't typically have "fun" with wrestling, I enjoy it but "fun" is something which if you can invoke in me, you've done good. Their big shows always are worth watching and will feature some exceptional wrestling, the smaller shows are a inconsistent minefield of great and poor matches. My only big issue with stardom is the over reliance on tag matches which imo gets quite same old, same old. On the booking side, Stardom is fine, nothing special, they have booked some good rivalries here and there but nothing out of this world. End of the day, Stardom has some brilliant talents, some fun gimmicks and is a good promotion to follow, but like all wrestling companies, it's not perfect and has big room to improve, hence the 8/10, if allowed it would be 8.5."

This promotion aint special despite paying and booking Katsuyori Shibata as one of the top stars, Kazuchika Okada as a prospect at the time & Don Arakawa being another ace for the brand that has bad comedy. Mucha is awful, Kikutaro can go in the ring but more known done better elsewhere as a comedy guy. This is a wasted opportunity to showcase great puroresu. On the one hand, lots of the best ever matches happened in a WCW ring, think Flair-Steamboat, Liger-Pillman, Flair-Funk, Flair-Vader, Sting-DDP, DDP-Savage and so on, also some of the best stories ever happened on WCW tv, think Crow Sting and the Outsiders/NWO, WCW was also the first mainstream promotion to have cruiserweight wrestling and it was amazing. On the other hand, some of the worst things in wrestling history happened on WCW programming like the finger poke of doom or Jarret lying down for Hogan, and I personally don't enjoy Nitro with the constant run-ins and bullshit. I like WCW but also dislike WCW, I prefer it to WWE but I prefer most wresting to WWE. WCW gave us so much but also was a very imperfect product."

It has a lot of great talents that it doesn't always seem to know what to do with and either doesn't promote them at all or gives them storylines that make no damn sense or just flat out suck. But again, when the storylines do work and everything's on point, very few can touch AEW. To me, TK is overrated as a booker, could really use some additional assistance and really needs to stay off Twitter but 80% of the time, he deserves the praise he gets. AEW is a company that has a lot of potential but often gets in its own way, very much like WCW. Let's just hope that All Elite Wrestling has a much better fate that WCW did."

[10.0] "The greatest hardcore promotion of all time. A roster full of legends like Hayabusa, Tanaka, Onita, Megumi Kudo, Funk and Foley. A archive of unbelievable matches. The spectacle, emotion and excitement that FMW could offer, typically in matches with barbed wire and explosions, is unwatched in the history of pro-wrestling. It's also a rare Japanese promotion that had a women's division and a men's division, which adds to the variety on offer. I typically don't like deathmatches but I love what FMW did, good wrestling and storytelling in the confines of a deathmatch, something some modern wrestlers could learn from, and FMW very rarely took things too far for my taste. The reason it's not a 10 is that it was inconsistent, the smaller shows weren't always great and some of the matches were very standard, never bad but just nothing exciting, Hayabusa as a wrestler encapsulates FMW, sometimes exceptional, other times he'd deliver standard Japanese style matches. Ultimately, FMW was a very special promotion that influenced the entire world of pro wrestling, ECW and by extension WWF and WCW took major inspiration from FMW and IWA-Japan."

On the other hand you have big daddy and giant haystacks and slow, rest hold after rest hold wrestling. Joint promotions was a mixed bag promotion in terms of in-ring quality. Also storylines and promos were very much kept to a minimum as ITV had no interest in the pure entertainment side. In many ways Joint promotions was ahead of the times but also behind the times. I'd argue that in the 1970s there was no better promotion in the world for in-ring action but the promotion didn't keep up with American production value and it lost many of its top talents to All-star wrestling and to Japan/the USA. Below the heavyweight bracket was were the best wrestling was to be found. It gets a generous 8, as its my favourite 70s promotion and it produced some great entertainment."

Far from perfect, but having faith that I'm not wasting 4 hours of my life a week on a weekly television show where they actually showcase wrestling and try to make things matter is certainly a breath of fresh air. When they do things right, they do things *really* right and I love it. Some talent I'm not fond of gets pushed harder than I would if I were booking the show, but in my opinion wrestling should be a variety show, and I truly believe that there's a little bit of everything for everyone in AEW."

[6.0] "When I was looking for something current to watch outside the American mainstream, I specifically wanted to find more women's wrestling, as while the major American promotions have gotten better about it over time, there's still lots of work to be done. After doing some light research into various women's wrestling promotions, I settled on simply giving Stardom a go, as they're the largest women's wrestling promotion, they're the old stomping grounds of names I'm familiar with (Io Shirai, KAIRI), and they employ(ed) some current talent that get a lot of buzz on social media (Giulia, Utami, Mayu, etc). The presentation is a BIG departure from what I'm used to on American TV. The fact that most of their events look like little more than house shows that happen to get an official broadcast wasn't jarring, as American indies have looked like that forever. But everything else feels very different too, from the stables and the gimmicks, right down to how their matches are laid out. It can often feel less like a simulated combat sport and more like an idol performance, where the idols perform wrestling moves instead of sing and dance. That's definitely a big hurdle for me, as idols/idol culture are not generally my thing. It's especially noticeable on the big 6/8/10 woman tag matches they run on their tour/house shows, and there are a LOT of those matches. But when they decide to put on an "actual" wrestling match, whether it be a veteran squashing a younggirl in 6 minutes, or a normal tag match, or a quick comedy match with a 4'11" crotchety clown, or just your good old "you have that belt and I want it" title fight, it really is leagues better and more watchable than most of the women's material that gets shown on American TV. So while it's an acquired taste, ultimately I am glad I stuck it out and am keeping up with it reguarly in 2024. Shoutout to Mina Shirakawa, who is currently my favorite wrestler (of any gender) that was not wrestling in Ring of Honor in 2005."

With a great roster and some killer matches, I was really pumped for what AEW would bring to the table. But now, I kind of wish that AEW would either go away or completely rebrand itself. The roster these days is completely bloated. If you are The Elite, MJF, or Britt Baker, you'll likely do well. But if you are Lance Archer, Jay Lethal, or Malakai Black, you're taking a gamble. For as many shows as they have, it feels like they still cannot fit everyone in. Storylines are always hit or miss, and TK is severely overrated as a booker. Quality has noticeably gone down and it feels like he is stuck in his own world. But what really shut me off to AEW was the entire CM Punk drama, which really exposed how lousy of an owner TK really is, creating an unsafe and hostile working environment and letting people go into business for themselves. This leaves viewers confused and disillusioned. I just can't get excited for AEW anymore and unless if things really change, I don't know if I want to tune in again. God bless guys like Samoa Joe, Claudio Castagnoli, and even Bryan Danielson for sticking it out, but at this rate, I'd much rather have Ring of Honor split off from AEW and have those guys go help build a better show than TK has put on in the last 2 years."

Unfortunately most of the wrestling in AEW is video game wrestling, comedy & Spot monkey style of wrestling. This includes wrestlers doing a bunch of "cool" moves and spots, and not selling any of it. This style of wrestling only works for a small amount of fans because moves mean nothing, because everybody on the show does the moves. As far as storylines, none of the story lines are relevant enough to make somebody not a hardcore fan turn the TV on and watch the show. Hardcore fans of AEW are the only ones still watching at this point. Of course there are some great pro wrestlers on the show like FTR, MJF, Billy Gunn but the rest all wrestle the same. As a fan of good serious Pro wrestling this does hurt writing this and giving AEW a 3.0 rating."

I am thankful they provide good wrestling matches on a regular basis and its hard to be disappointed on that end (even if it's not exactly AJPW 1990s level as some people make it out to be), the problem is that that's where the good comes to and end. Everything else about this company is just a complete disaster, which might make for a more entertaining book than the WCW book, except that Tony makes everyone sign NDAs for everything. They have no idea how to execute angles, and how to make them work (there's many examples I could give but just look at the recent devil reveal, it was bad enough with Cole doing the fake friend when he had MJF down already, and then an over-long blackout so he could get in position), and the booking in general isn't any better. There's a Simpsons quote that can be applied to everything in life, and "So you want a realistic down to earth show, that's completely off the wall, and swarming with magic robots." fits regarding AEW's 'sports based' side and its 'sports entertainment' side, which makes their shows schizophrenic. Tony has managed to squander just about all of his talent who had potential, most of their WWE signings have been blown, Kingston, Swerve is currently the hot guy in the company and I can only hope for best but I have no reason to with Tony's track record. MJF has gone from a guy who could potentially be the biggest draw of anyone in business who isn't over 35, but has become a joke. And it's not even worth talking about CM Punk, everyone knows the story, and everyone has taken their sides, but the whole situation was a disaster that could have been avoided with proper management and now the biggest draw Tony had is in the WWE."

The problems with WCW were that no one actually cared about the main event scene in all reality, it was just a ton of over hyped washed up seniors like Hulk Hogan making the company look like they had no clue what they were doing, and obviously 2000s take away a lot of points, but the less said about that the better. Incredibly popular, reliable and serviceable, but there's something missing that prevents it from true greatness. Now, don't get me wrong, WWE really excels in some places, most notably in its sense of spectacle and pageantry. It's also a really accessible entrance into the world of professional wrestling. But there's something about it that just doesn't click completely with me. A lot of this is down to Vince McMahon, really; he was a good promoter, but a disaster when to what happened between the ropes. As Paul Heyman once famously said, McMahon made wrestling a dirty word. And McMahon's greatest misstep was to homogenise the product, and nearly the entire industry, into a dull style that was too afraid to take risks or to fully commit to a story. It's undoubtable that WWE works better when it has competition, but the poisonous corporate culture there really doesn't want that. One would hope that Triple H's turn at the top goes a long way to improving that, but the jury is still out. Still, there's an undeniable quality to WWE. You may not think it's the greatest thing in the industry, but you can't help but be drawn back to them time and time again."

If I were to rate it in a vacuum right at this moment with the destruction of Papa H's NXT, the bad booking that means nothing over the long term, and the waste of the best roster ever assembled, i am giving it a 5. The great matches are great, but when your booking is based around churning out content, the good matches are unfortunately drowned out by the cacophony of recaps, cookie cutter Raws, and reminders of what hashtags to use. Given the history and the unbelievable success as a brand and the amount of joy it previously brought me, it easily gets a 5. I hope it turns around soon. Edit 3/2023: much much improved. Definitely upped their game and the right players are getting TV time and they're developing a great new batch of talent. Stories make more sense and have a better build. I'm really happy to see stuff is turning around. 7 easy. Edit 1/2024 WWE will wind up the global property that McMahon was shooting for. HHH is such a great replacement for Vince. For the past twenty years, it's never quite known what it wants to be: does it want to be WWE or be an alternative? And what it should have done is be the alternative. The strong points of its existence, such as the mid-2000s and the late-2010s, were when it was doing just that, providing people a more grounded take on pro wrestling than WWE's glitz and glamour. It provided a home for people who Vince McMahon just couldn't use right; people like Sting and Christian Cage lit the house on fire, it was the place that made AJ Styles look an absolute star, and it proved that Kurt Angle wasn't just a one-trick pony. And even as soon as the early 2020s, it truly had one of the best women's divisions in the West; Slamovich, James, Grace, Purrazzo and Trinity are a strong core to build a division around, even if two of them have left for different pastures. But we have to talk about the downsides too. The early 2010s were truly a nadir for TNA, with Hogan and company tanking the glory days by trying, and failing, to fight the Monday Night Wars again, and the less said about the 2013-15 "we have WWE at home" era, the better. Matt Hardy really does deserve his flowers for dragging a dying almost-corpse of a promotion back into relevance enough to get proverbial medical attention, because the industry would be for the worse without TNA."

Both FTR and the Young Bucks constantly raise the bar for what to expect from tag team wrestling. And Mercedes Moné will soon bring the peak of women's wrestling into the house that Tony Khan built. The best in the world are nearly all under one roof and it truly is an embarrassment of riches. And hey, if you don't like what's on your screen, just wait 20 minutes; there'll be something different. A lack of competition breeds a lack of creativity, which turned so many people off wrestling over the past twenty years. AEW stood up to the plate and brought the feeling back for so many people. Truly elite."

[2.0] "Rising from the ashes of Lucha Libre assiciotiation operating in the eponymous bar in Paris, Lucha remontada attemps to relaunch a concept that once was, with people that once were. The beginnings are timid and frail, and the bar itself is -as it always was- way too small to host pro wrestling. I wouldn't wait too long on this promotion, that's only there to fuel your pro wrestling fan's needs if Nanterre's APC is too far for you, or closed."

[6.0] "AEW is in this weird place at the moment. They have good wrestling, Good championships and decent tag teams and good main event players but the biggest issues for me is the weeklies. The weeklies like Dynamite either rise and lower in quality in the most random times and the PPVs are great but how can we care if the stories usually aren't juicy. Rampage & Collision are as useless as trying to go up the stairs in a wheelchair and the attendances are lowering and the fanbase is slowly starting to turn on AEW. I hope they can make a turn around soon but as of now they are a decent promotion."

What with them still being relatively new, coming out of the pandemic, and people coming and going a lot, but TK and Co. have seemed to turn that perception around. Of course, booking isn't perfect, but EVERY PPV event delivers. They've got a tremendous system going for them, and 2024 looks to be a jam-packed thriller of a year for the promotion."
