EVOLVE Wrestling (EVOLVE)

[7.0] "A "blink and you miss it" promotion, Evolve has produced some of the best modern talents of pro wrestling today. It was almost a "did this promotion even happen? " type of scenario. Also, the original incarnation of Evolve was very underrated."

[8.0] "Weirdest fever dream ever. It was a good fever dream, but DAMN was it weird. Most of these guys have found modern success, and its so fun seeing that they all wrestled for evolve."

[7.0] "It was a very well-done independent promotion that had produced great talents but also brought in some established stars as well. When the original Evolve folded, I was shocked. Now, WWE is preserving its legacy with the reboot of Evolve involving the NIL prospects and NXT stalwarts too."

[7.0] "Enjoyed Evolve a lot especially when it was separate from WWE. Even when it was working with NXT talent it always had good matches and WWN production value was not the worst. Was very sad when it folded."

[7.0] "I knew it was just a feeder for the WWE but I kind of miss Evolve. It gave me the grappling heavy style I sometimes wanted in my indie wrestling. Hero Galloway Thatcher and ZSJ got me into the promotion and it introduced me to Darby Allin with interesting stories and matches around him. It's sad you can always tell when Gabe completely checks out on whatever promotion he's running though so the quality and fun instantly went away once the cards were full of more nxt guys than the regulars. Only real positive that came from that was the Street Profits taking a big leap after the Doom Patrol match but I still enjoyed this promotion for the time it ran."

"At a time where I was looking for a better alternative, I stumbled upon Evolve and DGUSA. Definitely not the polished product of other promotions, but I enjoyed the in ring product greatly. Up until Evolve 103, I would say the best value for money promotion at the time, but when WWE got involved, raiding the talent of the independent scene, I switched off watching which was a shame. Great while it lasted, I recommend the first 100 shows, but take or leave the rest"

"A great stable that did its job for all four members, Triple H managing to continue his reign of terror, Flair the expeirenced veteran and at the time beloved by everyone. Orton and Batista both went on to be main eventers for years, Orton even coming up to 20 years as a full timer! Great story telling in their initial run, Triple H turning on Orton after he first won the WHC then Batista doing the exact same thing to Triple H, simply poetic. All four men legends of the business, furthermore the Evolution vs Shield feud of 2014 was bloody ruddy brilliant and put the 3 young men over. 8/10"

[6.0] "I never really found Evolve as exciting as its reputation made it seem but now that it's just the developmental system for WWE's developmental system, Evolve has lost pretty much anything I could have cared about."

[7.0] "EVOLVE has the same problem as PWG: focus on a specific type of audience. The concept was promising, but it wore out fast enough to become an Indy who offers good matches from time to time, but lacks good rivalries or interesting stories."

[8.0] "I caught Evolve 94 in Queens with a friend who had no history of liking wrestling and when we left all she could think about was how she could put on her own show. The company has its issues (story wise things seemed like a mess) and the undercard talent was kind of blah in terms of gimmick and move set but the guys at the top really give 110% and put on a highly entertaining product."

[4.0] "Say I went to the shops to get some milk. I get to the aisle where all the milk cartons are; rows of them just waiting to be picked up. Say I placed the first three rows aside, pushing them out of the way, putting them down onto the floor, all so I could reach the one in the fourth row. People would look at me strangely. Why would I bother putting aside all that milk just to get that specific carton? My friend, I have just described to you my central problem with EVOLVE. With so much wrestling more available, more hyped, more popular, and most of all more unique, I see little reason to push all of it out of the way so I can watch the Feckless Gabe Sapolsky's vanity promotion."

[6.0] "Compared to the other promotions in America like AAW, ROH, CZW and PWG, Evolve is lacking. They have great talent, especially Riddle and Lee, but the production and audience for these shows are terrible. I believe it could be the venues they pick, but something is missing and its a shame."

[8.0] "I liked EVOLVE better when Gabe wasn't choking on WWE kool aid, but they still put on good shows, so there's that."

[10.0] "EVOLVE wrestling has to be my favorite promotion in the world. 2016 has been amazing and things only look brighter, bro!"

[8.0] "Evolve has a very good mix of different styles of wrestling but really focuses on catch wrestling. The company doesnt waste time on terrible story lines that have absolutely nothing to do with wrestling like some other companies (WWE). Evolve is made to feel like more of a real sport and to me that makes the shows very enjoying although to the "entertainment"fans out there this will probably be pretty boring as it wont have any terrible trick or street fights and The Boogeyman wont be showing up with a can of worms. ( I hope)."

[6.0] "EVOLVE is very hit and miss for me. Sometimes i can be impressed. Most of the time I'm impressed by one match and the big advertised matches nearly always seem like they could have been something more. Thatchers reign really should have come to an end and should have been placed on the ever growing likeable Riddle. Its an okay promotion but definitely doesn't live up to its hype."

[6.0] "Although Evolve can put on some good stuff, for the most part I personally find it very middle-of-the road. It's kind of the generic super-indy of the USA."

[5.0] "Just another indy fed. It's overrated with "book it in the now" booking (cheers Gabe, you dweeb) and is otherwise uninteresting and boring."

[9.0] "EVOLVE has amazing workrate, a way to get focused on the indies, and above all else, the stories that are told are amazing - such as tna invasion, hero vs zsj and so many more"

[9.0] "Always a good promotion from a good team but has really had a heck of rebirth from EVOLVE 31 onwards. The new "2 Hour" model has helped the shows and Drew Galloway as traveling Evolve World Champion did get them back on the map in a big way. While it's a shame to see so much of their roster signed to WWE lately, Evolve are doing a great job all the same at building new stars or reinventing slightly older ones. Timothy Thatcher has been an excellent champion, though it would be nice to see him put the company on his back internationally in the way that Galloway was able to. Some are excited about Evolve's involvement with WWE, which is of course nice... but for me, I'm happy either way. Evolve were my alternative to WWE, so as long as Evolve keeps doing what they do, I can take or leave WWE's involvement (as a fan, I realise it's a wonderful opportunity for their roster! )."
