[2.0] "In Ohio Valley Wrestling, it was a heat magnet. In the independents after the RAW run was a nostalgia tour, but in WWE, it was bad. Horrible angle, bad trio action and absolutely nothing but goons for the authority. Nic Nemeth did well afterwards, Mike Mondo had a bit of talent, Kenny was god awful & Johnny Jetter had the potential worker within the group to take off but unfortunately mentally checked out at work, thus killing the bug for good long after. Mitch is a guy who serves at a TGI Fridays on a Thursday."

I can't help but to feel bad for the men involved who had to learn how to become cheerleaders just to get their big chance of making it on the main roster in WWE. Thankfully, Nicky went on to become Dolph Ziggler and forged a decent career."

"I hate to believe that they had to spend time in their development to learn cheerleading routines. What a terrible gimmick"

I can't understand why they are rate so low, so 10 is totaly deserved. However, I can't remember a good match LOL. JOHNNY, KENNY, MIKEY, MITCH AND NICKY, AND WE ARE, THE SPIRIT SQUAD."

[7.0] "The Spirit Squad hits the "it's so bad, it's good" point for me. I remember seeing them debut & my jaw was on the floor. Couldn't believe it. They were obnoxious in a way that kind of worked for me. Unlike the Right To Censor, they didn't make me want to turn the TV off. I was kind of happy to watch them do their thing. It also made sense that they would be able to win some matches due to there being five of them. Their five-man finisher was pretty neat & actually looked like it could do some real damage. It also fit with the gimmick, which is something i can appreciate. Their ending was not handled that well, but at the same time, they didn't stick around forever, so it was kind of good that they were not a forever act."

[7.0] "Obnoxious? Sure. And that was the entire point of the gimmick, so mission accomplished there - they worked as the annoying heels you wanted to see get beaten. If there was a failing in the group, it could be that in doing everything as a group it was hard for any of the individual members to stand out with the possible exception of Kenny, who looked at the time to be the breakout of the group (ultimately, it would be background member Nicky that would go on to become Dolph Ziggler), and the gimmick had a limited shelf life, but was effective while it lasted. In the years since the group's main run, Kenny, Mikey and Johnny have resurrected the act as a trio for the 2014 King of Trios tournament, and more recently Kenny and Mikey have resurfaced as a tag team in WWE to get involved in former ally Dolph's affairs, and more recently on the independent scene and in ROH."

They had an okay feud with D-Generation X in 2006 but it was full of childish things that made it unwatchable. It surprises me how big of a push they got as well by beating Kane and The Big Show."

[2.0] "If there was 1 stable in the last 10 years that almost killed the careers of everybody in it, it was the Spirit Squad. It was a male cheerleader group who were cheesy, annoying and the butt of many jokes that were carried out by the reformed D-Generation X around that time. All 5 of them held the WWE tag titles and worked their matches under free bird rules, and for 216 days, it was torture to watch. Now, if they had absolutely nothing to offer, this team would have 0, but I'm giving it 2, because the team had some great wrestlers in it. Only they were unfortunate enough to be involved in such a terrible gimmick. When the team disbanded, we saw Mitch (the least talented one) retire, Johnny more or less disappeared back into the indies, and hasn't been seen much since 2008. Kenny was the youngest, and seen as the most talented member of the team. He was the most likely one to be world champion material, or at least that's what WWE wanted us to think, but his ego and lack of charisma got him nowhere in WWE, and after his release it's questionable if he'll be back. Mikey spent years trying to shed this gimmick's effect on him, and in ROH, much like James Gibson, he has shown that he can actually wrestle well, and won over the crowd. And then lastly, there's Nicky, who also spent years shedding the gimmick, and he is now known as Dolph Ziggler, a WWE main eventer, the World Heavyweight Champion, and the best seller in the WWE right now."
