Lucha Brothers

[10.0] "I first came to know these two as singles performers on Lucha Underground. I think they both shine a bit better as singles', but that's not to say they're also not incredible as a team. When they finally did come together as a team, they gave us something different that we had not seen in their Lucha Underground run. They work well together in TNA & helped form AEW in that company's early days."

[10.0] "The ying & the yang of tag team wrestling, the perfect combinaison. The best recipe. You want them to work a high fly team while being jumped on ? Damn right they will do well you want the opposite and watch them fly ? They will do awesome ? You need a good brawl or hardcore ? Penta maybe gonna be a bit more seen in those but it's gonna be perfect and Fenix will take some great bumps and dangerous spot. The chemistry is perfect, inring too, mic is not as bad as people say, yes the language is sometimes a problem but hey are those kind of wrestlers that know how to make themselves understood by anyone."

[10.0] "The lucha bros are one of the best tag teams on the world. Rey Fenix is one of the best high flyers today. Penta is more of an all-around type of wrestler and still does the cool luchador moves. They are incredible singles wrestlers, but when they tag, they elavate their game. They have an amazing moveset. Awesome tag team."

[10.0] "They are different in the ring and as characters but they compliment each other so well. They have a real Scorpion/Sub-Zero dynamic that I absolutely love."

[8.0] "I love the Lucha bros if we are only talk about the tag team itself and nothing else. Great style clash that makes this team so dynamic in the ring and allow for a lot of variety in their matches. They are the face of lucha libre in US and an sensation that have been lasting through out the years, only growing stonger. However, and this is very personal, i feel like this tag team has very much hindered both's ability to excel as individual wrestlers, in TNA and in AEW. Pentagon was one of the hottest luchadores in US after LU and Fenix was one of the best high flyers around the world. This isn't a Motor City situation where both are excellent wrestlers but they elevate even further together and obtain greatness, to be put bluntly, Lucha bros despite how good the team is, is a slight step down for what we could have gone if Fenix and Pentagon focuses on their individual careers and excel at their own character. That is a very personal opinion, at the end of the day this is an excellent tag team."

[9.0] "The Lucha Brothers are an incredible tag team, one of the best lucha libre tag teams of all time, they are so reliable when it comes to workrate, you can put them into any match and they will work a great match, excellent chemistry."

[8.0] "Wrestlers are brothers in real life, so they have a special chemistry. The Lucha Brothers became a sensation in the second half of the tenth after they became known to the mass audience from their appearances in Lucha Underground. Unfortunately, now they're just two luchadores showing spots. It worked in the beginning, but unfortunately they are not evolving in any way. They are capable of putting on a quality match, although they're often monotonous lately, but as characters they stand still and trying to flirt with AEW fans with teasers of Pentagon Dark's return has gotten nowhere. Nevertheless, they have become quite popular, and still make appearances around the world."

[9.0] "Lucha Bros are two great singles competitors who make an amazing team. They have a style that works well together and enough difference so that the offense does not feel repetitive. They have a great connection with the crowd despite not speaking English. They rarely have a bad match"

[8.0] "I think its kind of insane that the lucha bros have a 9.5 rating while the young bucks have a measly 8.9. Almost all of the bros best matches have been against the bucks and in these they wrestle basically the same no rules maximalist style, but i've never seen them have the more traditional, psychological tag like the bucks have had against ftr and omega&page. I think it may come down to their outside the ring personalities, which sure can be a bit annoying, but hardly the crimes against humanity some people seem to think theyre doing. Anyways, this rating is for the bros, even though theyre both singles competitors, they work like a very well oiled machine and can produce bangers on the regular. Though I would like them to mix it up a bit and attempt a more grounded style."

[5.0] "I like Penta on occasion but Fenix is too far descended into the spotty nonsense realm for me (despite being one of the best of that ilk). Unfortunately the team tends to skew more towards Fenix's style than Penta's style so once you've seen one of their matches, you've seen them all. Definitely capable of more but they need the right opponent and in the current climate, that's difficult to come by."

[8.0] "An outrageously fun tag team when paired with like-minded opponents. There's no stopping during a Lucha Bros match, which as usual won't be for everyone, but when they're hot they're HOT. Fenix is the high flyer, but Penta is no slouch in the risk taking either. He can be grotesque in his moves, and remains perpetually over. Awesome apart, but together they have a special crowd appeal. A crowd pleasing duo."

[9.0] "A true tag team, these two have had some iconic moments in modern wrestling history, and the two are also FANTASTIC singles wrestlers."

[7.0] "Absolute spot monkeys, but they are very impressive between the ropes. I just think they are an act that can only be truly enjoyed when viewed in small doses. Plus, as they are both heavy on the high-flying and not much else, I think they work better when separate. Still, the talent is undeniable."

[7.0] "Somehow these guys manage to out spot fest even the young bucks so I personally would never consider them to be one of the best teams today but I do still enjoy them and I think they have a cool look."

[8.0] "I'll be honest, I actually like Fenix and Pentagon way more as singles wrestlers but even when they do come together as team their chemistry is off the charts, and being brothers they know each other really well in the ring and are able to cover each other's weaknesses and build to their strengths. Their character work has kind of gotten boring but their in-ring work is as amazing as ever."

[8.0] "One of the best and most exciting tag teams in the world, having some of, if not all of AEW's best matches ever. The dynamic of Fenix as the insanely talented high-flyer and Penta as the insanely charismatic all-rounder is awesome, and they have produced plenty of wildly complex and creative spots during their time. The main issue I have with them as that they're always at 100% every single match, and yes, that actually is a bad thing because it means that their big matches -- where they would ideally turn things up -- often don't feel nearly as special as compared to if they cut back on all their crazy spots in their throwaway TV matches. There's also the issue that they (usually Fenix) will be so desperate to wow fans in these throwaway TV matches that they'll go to crazy with their stunts and bumps, resulting in some short- or even long-term injuries, reflecting exactly why they shouldn't be going 100% every single night. Another issue is that despite how crazy impressive their various spots may be, they seem to have reached their maximum number of spots, since now all their matches big and small will look the same, featuring only slight variations of a bunch of mostly copy-and-pasted spots. They'll still bring out some truly creative stuff for their biggest matches, but match-to-match they'll feel quite samey. Their spotfest style is usually still good at worst, but there's then the final issue that they'll occasionally drift into overly choreographed territory when they become too content to just run through their series of copy-and-pasted spots one at a time, with can undermine then otherwise crazy athletic and explosive style. Those issues can all mostly be put aside, though, given that they're still great performers and absolute stars due to how over they are with fans. It's a big shame that their long-awaited tag title run ended so soon, but at least they'll finally feel fresh again once they're back together. It will be interesting to see if they can develop into a tag team with some more serious psychology and storytelling too, since that's all that's required to push them towards being a truly all-time top team."

[6.0] "I haven't been invested in them as much as a tag team as I have been seperately in Lucha Underground. In American promotions, it's hard to really watch their tag work and I think AEW has mismanaged them and the fact that it's hard for me to get behind the lack of psychology in their tag team work or their fly in the face of the rules stuff."

[10.0] "One of the greatest tag teams in the world. Personally, they are my favourite tag team. Rey Fenix and Pentagon Jr. are just so awesome that every time they are in the ring, a classic match is waiting to happen."

[10.0] "Probably the coolest and perhaps the best tag team in the world today. They are amazing wrestlers and have amazing looks; simple but badass looking luchadores."

[5.0] "I don't see the Lucha Brothers as a great tag team, just an okay one. Most of their matches are a simple spotfest with some overrated moments. When they face a real tag team like FTR, the matches are usually ok. An ok rating for an ok tag team."

[9.0] "One of the very best tag teams in the world. Rey Fenix is an athletic superstar, absolutely magnetic to watch in the ring. Penta is a better all-around wrestler, able to work different styles with different opponents. Combined these guys are an absolute joy to watch."

[10.0] "One of the most electrifying, energetic, & charismatic tag teams in the world. One of the greatest tag teams of the last 10 years. Rightfully were the 2019 Tag Team of the Year. Amazing feud with The Young Bucks. Have held or currently hold tag team championships around the world. Can have a good to great to epic match with any tag team. One of the most consistent in-ring performing tag teams in the world. Will do ANYTHING to put on a great match."

[10.0] "Lucha Bros are amazing in every aspect of pro wrestling. You'd never know they were brothers by their styles or attires and that's what makes them a great tag team, because they're unique in their own ways but compliment each other so well."

[7.0] "Very unique mexican tag team. Highflying combined with hard-hitting and brutal style. They gained popularity after appearing in Lucha Underground and I immediately fell in love with these two guys. Very successful on independent scene. Their matches were always really exciting. With good booking they could be huge stars. Too bad they ended up in AEW..."

[10.0] "GOAT + GOAT = GOAT. That's all I have to say. I'm so glad to see every match from them, but so sad they haven't hold the Tag Titles yet."

[9.0] "One of the best tag teams in the world from an in-ring perspective. Strong in terms of look and charisma as well. Their formation of the Death Triangle with PAC was something I was looking forward to seeing play out ?  pity that its timing came right before the pandemic left them off tv."

Pentagon's the more complete package but Fenix gets my heart beating faster and is one of the few flippy wrestlers I really feel myself getting behind and rooting for. They're hugely talented but have an underdog charisma that makes them essential."

They have so many great matches in pwg like with chosen bros, bucks, hero/end and their solo career are also amazing. Hopefully, they continue to deliver."
