As a Tag Team they've been a consistent moty candidates every year. Ironic how that a team built in wwe has gone on to dominate and revolutionize the art of tag team wrestling."

How I would love to see them against the Hart Foundation, Midnight Express, and other fantastic teams of the past. FTR is truly a tag team - they work together seamlessly and there is no reason to ever desire for them to split up. The no-nonsense style doesn't always work for everyone but they have it down to a science, and the people love it. These days, tag teams are thrown together and you get singles wrestlers pretending to be teams for a four-month title run. These guys have saved tag team wrestling for me! FTR is a treasure! Keep them together and keep them strapped!"

[10.0] "FTR has been my absolute favorite tag team since their NXT battles with American Alpha and DIY. I love their old school style. In an increasingly homogeneous modern wrestling world, where everyone has big flips and super kicks, these guys do bodyslams into elbow drops. Classic doomsday machines and Powerplex team up moves. But it's just a lot of the little things they do, like bumping like crazy off a big move, or tagging in and sliding between the other team to cut off the ring. They're so polished in the mechanics of tag team wrestling, and they can work with any body. After being mostly wasted on the WWE main roster, they joined AEW, which has always prioritized tag team wrestling thanks to the Young Bucks being co founders. And since then they've had so many great matches with the Bucks, Lucha Bros, The Acclaimed, Jungle Express, the Briscoes, Bullet Club, Paragon, United Empire, Outrunners, Jetspeed, Brodido, etc. They've basically made Collision their show, they're in TV basically every week just putting in the work. I love these guys and hope they got plenty of years left."

[10.0] "FTR are truly an enigma. Because building such a reputation and reaching such a high level in WWE is incredible, considering that tag team wrestling has never been taken 100% seriously in WWE. They were lucky enough to start out in the golden era of NXT, which was more focused on in-ring and Indy wrestling. Yet their wrestling style has always been a tribute to the 80s and 90s, not at all in line with the indie style, but they were so surgical that the audience was won over. And thank God they are absolute fans of the discipline and left WWE in 2020, because otherwise they would never have achieved the status they have today. I'm not afraid to say that they are in the top 5, if not the top 3, of the best teams in wrestling history."

They could match the most flamboyant tag teams of the era for workrate but their adoption of classic early Steiner brothers mat fundamentals and truly aggressive-looking offense constantly forced other teams to work smarter and not just harder. Their feuds with American Alpha and DIY are in the in-ring peak of NXT and I think the brand has been less interesting with them gone."

They are both solid in the ring & strive to make tag wrestling important. Some of their best matches are against the likes of American Alpha, DIY, & The Briscoes. They have worked in both WWE & AEW, so they have a long record of working with many different teams throughout their career."

[8.0] "While teams like Enzo & Cass shouted catchphrases and played cosplay wrestling, The Revival wrestled. Dash and Dawson (now Dax and Cash of FTR) brought a no-frills, old-school mentality back to a landscape drowning in superkicks and dives. Their philosophy? "No flips, just fists." And they meant it. Technical precision, airtight psychology, crisp double teams -- these guys didn't just work matches, they crafted masterpieces. From their legendary trilogy with DIY in NXT to war-after-war with teams like American Alpha, The Usos, and later The Briscoes, they consistently proved that tag wrestling isn't filler -- it's main event caliber when done right. Every match told a story, every finish had weight, and every beat-down felt earned, not spammed. Offscreen, FTR have become locker room leaders, advocates for tag team prestige, and pros who want to build the business, not just coast on merch sales and mic time. They don't chase clout -- they chase greatness. And more often than not, they catch it."

Their matches with the Briscoes are the pinnacle achievement of their career, absolutely required viewing for any wrestling fan of any stripe, in my opinion at least. They're definitely lacking on the mic, but can make things work with the right opponents. Not much of a gimmick either, so they lose some points there for blandness. A in the ring, C on the mic, C for look/gimmick. I don't think you can call them the best team of all time, but they definitely have a long list of great matches to their name."

[7.0] "FTR are skilled in-workers of the "allrounder" style. However, they are poor on the mic, and their gimmick is nostalgia for an era of wrestling that they are too young to remember. They are naturally an upper-midcard heel tag team: the should hold a championship from time to time, but they don't need to hold 4 championships at once. In 2022, they were overly protected in AEW, not losing a match to the Acclaimed while the Acclaimed were AEW champions, despite a match being teased. Maybe that was bad booking: the titles of the separate brands shouldn't merge, in the same way that the World champion shouldn't challenge secondary champions. This cheapened the tag team titles, as the implied narrative was basically that FTR was the deserving tag team, but the Acclaimed were selling edgy t-shirts and overpriced foam fingers."

Their offense, their looks and their presention is heavily inspired by some incredible tag teams back in the 80s/90s like the Harts or Tully Blanchard and Arn Anderson but they are not any rip-offs of old legends, they are they're own thing and their special in their own way. Every match they have is must-watch for me. Their trilogy with the Briscoes is sublime and their tag matches with the Bucks and Bullet Club Gold are all incredible. In NXT they did some awesome work with DIY and The American Alpha as the Revival but once they moved to the main roster, they got lost in the shuffle. Luckly, in 2020 they came to AEW and that saved their carrers as they were given the spotlight they deserved. They work very well both as heels and babyfaces, their shenanigans as heels were awesome to watch and their connection with the crowd as babyfaces in unmatched. They also work very well in multi-men situations, like trios or eight-man matches, and in singles competition, especially Dax who had an impressive streak of great matches in 2022. For me, they set the standard for today's tag team wrestling and they dominated this division since 2022."

Despite their ability to have good to great tag matches, I dont feel like Ive ever truly been invested in anything Dax or Cash have done. The tribute act card is used to belittle teams who take clear influence, but surprisingly it doesnt seem to be used against FTR despite them possibly being the most derivative. (6/10)"

"Other than any gun-related violence in their personal lives, the main crime of these two men is that theyre extremely boring. They have exactly zero personality. Every single promo of theirs is the same. They constantly break kayfabe and whine about the booking on social media when theyre unhappy so they can weaponize their fans. People keep saying their wrestling is good but I just dont see it. They couldnt carry a storyline to save their lives. Their title reign in 2023 was extremely disappointed: how can your entire character revolve around being the best and being a good fighter and whatever but then refuse to defend your titles for a full month? AEW used to have a great tag division and the tag belts used to mean something before they got the belts, had them throughout a meaningless reign, and then lost them in a squash match to a non-tag team."

[6.0] "FTR -- the current consensus for "Best Tag Team in the World". Their whole gimmick is that they're throwbacks to the 80s style of "tough, fight-based wrestling", back when matches were about beating your opponent to a pulp instead of seeing how many flips you could hit. I can appreciate how unique they feel in today's action-obsessed wrestling climate, but I definitely think their gimmick is vastly overrated, as are literally all their matches. Firstly, there's only so far you can get with "we wrestle matches with really good technique" as your character. I definitely enjoy the plain aggression, physicality, and tag-team strategy they show, but whenever they do that it always feels more like they're just mechanically checking off a list of 'good-match' requirements rather than actually, directly 'exciting' me, so I "appreciate" their work much more so than I actually "enjoy" it. In their obsession with being 'serious', FTR have unfortunately completely avoided the important 'flashy' and 'creative' parts that can make wrestling so exciting and compelling. Basically, it wouldn't hurt Cash and (much more so) Dax to try implement a bit more of a 'modern' twist to their moves, either in terms of creativity or impact/'danger factor', rather than only relying on safe and uninspired moves as they currently do. They can definitely work the 'modern style' of wrestling in regards to a quick pace with lots of big spots and complex sequences, but I've never found those to be especially exciting because they often ring hollow by only ever featuring such basic moves. Another issue with FTR is that their "tough guy" personas are often quite see-through. This is most obvious with Dax, who clearly tries way too hard to look intimidating and pissed-off with his facial expressions. He also just loves to talk in his many whiney-toned promos about how hard-done-by he is, which further exposes how 'soft' he really is. Cash is actually the far better worker of the team, since he's the one that will genuinely impress me with the occasionally reckless ways he'll blitz an opponent, plus his general technique seems far more polished than Dax's AND he doesn't waste time pretending to be a 'badass' like Dax does. On the other hand, Cash's attitude might actually be too much the opposite of Dax's, since he's far more reserved to the point that I'm not sure I can specifically say he has much of a real 'character'. He can sometimes be decently sympathetic, but he often seems more just "along for the ride" and happy for Dax to take centre stage when it comes to them highlight their character work. In an ideal promotion, FTR would be booked as the dominant and hardened heels, which would then justify their lack of appealing characters and their naturally less exciting offence, and would also then enhance the characters and offence of their babyface opponents by contrast. As they are, FTR are perfectly good but not nearly as compelling or exciting as they're touted to be."

It is incredible that those two weren't even a tag team 10 years ago and become such a great team from being randomly paired in NXT. The old school touch gives them something that stands out, especially in this generation where everybody does 300 flips and tons of useless footwork. They are the definition of the less the better, just like Gunther. They are also good with a mic and have a great look that fit them perfectly."

Cash and Dax have been big names in the NXT and to a lesser extent in the main roster, where they nevertheless collected a full set of belts, and they opened up in a new way in the pandemic era when they made their debut in All Elite Wrestling.
