[7.0] "One has the comedy charisma, the other has the physique and work ethic. Trent seems committed to continue putting in the work, while Chuck has started looking pretty rough the last few months. As a team, they were good talents on the indies and in the early days of AEW, and have had some pretty memorable moments. Chuck pulling out a chainsaw from under the ring is something I'll never forget. Lately, they've fallen down the card as better talent has joined, and largely fill the role now of on-screen allies to Orange Cassidy, or putting over higher ranking heel factions."

[7.0] "There are things about Chuck and Trent I like. Some of their comedy spots are wildly amusing to me, but I've never seen them really get out of middle gear and just knock my socks off in a serious contest. Just feels like a team that will always be simply "above average" in all categories."

[2.0] "You see, Best Friends are (in my opinion) another example of why AEW's audience is never going to grow. They have their fanbase, though as a casual they are not remotely appealing and come across as a bunch of lower-card goofs who spend half their television time messing around in front of the cameras. I've seen a few of their matches. They're good in the ring. Though from what I've seen they've done nothing to warrant the spot Tony Khan has been consistently giving them. They're a lower-card team at best and often make wrestling look phoney."

[3.0] "What an absolute wreck. These guys came in with so much hype, especially from Trent's run in NJPW, but fell flat on their face after just a few months. Not going to lie, I actually thought they had some really solid matches in their first few months in AEW. They then added OC and Statlander, both of whom were having comedy gimmicks at the time, which forced them to turn their occasional comedic spot in their routine to their entire schtick which killed any momentum they had towards being Tag Champions. Throw in the godawful Rocky Romero and Wheeler Yuta and you have a total comedic faction, which no one cares about. Trent and Statlander, now that she's dropped the stupid alien gimmick, should branch out on their own because they can maybe climb up the card, the others, not so much."

[4.0] "Basing my rating only on their AEW work, they really failed as a team. Their desperation to be "quirky" with their purposefully dorky character work and their middle-school-like humour was funny the first time, but then it became really lame the more screen time they got without ever developing. They were on Dynamite every single month until Trent got injured, and that whole time they just continued to lean into the "ironically lame and therefore supposedly somehow charming" gimmick, except they never actually carried through with the "charming" part. Trent can be a genuinely good worker, and I know that Chuck has at least been good from his older work I've seen, but they've never managed to look like a truly top-level time despite all the limelight matches they've been given. They've been very 'alright' throughout their time in AEW, with Trent usually the somewhat good worker and Chuck usually being the more underwhelming but still okay worker (and also the one far more guilty of leaning far too heavily into 'irony' and being off-puttingly goofy as a result). I'm extremely thankful that AEW brought in and established some new tag teams so that Best Friends could finally stop being on TV every week, since they absolutely wore out their usefulness and their appeal by continuing to give the same half-hearted performances, making the division feel incredibly stale and low-level. The only way I could see them working as a team now is if both of them turn heel and become full-on arrogant dorks, sort of like 2point0 or the Gunn Club except with more in-ring wrestling talent. Maybe that's just my dislike of their gimmicks speaking, but to me their gimmicks are so off-putting that a turn like that would work. You definitely can't bring them back as tag-title challengers without any changes, though, since they'll be completely overshadowed by the various far superior teams that now make up the division, so a heel turn might really be the only way for them to not only finally appeal to me, to for them to finally get over to a serious degree with the wider fanbase as well."

Since then they just haven't been able to recapture their momentum. But when they were on they could have terrific matches, and I'm excited to see what happens when Trent comes back."

[4.0] "They were signed to AEW before the company even started & I was legitimately excited to see what they were going to bring to the table. I was familiar with Beretta from WWE, but didn't know much of the team as a whole. The concept of two dudes who were just really good friends might be bad, but maybe, just maybe they found a way to make it work. Well, to my disappointment, they did not find a way to make it work & indeed it is just mostly really bad. They were able to put together a great parking lot match against Santana & Ortiz; but aside from that, everything Best Friends have been involved with has been pretty atrocious (and they are featured on Dynamite constantly! )."

[10.0] "One of the most entertaining tag teams that have worked in PWG, NJPW, and AEW. These two are just funny and really talented. Trent is more of the workhorse but don't let that make you think Chuck can't work, cause that boy can go in the singles (even if he is slightly a bit slower in the ring these days). Not to mention they had one of AEW's best matches of the year with the Parking Lot Fight with Proud 'N Powerful"

[7.0] "Good midcard tag team that can go in the ring and play their part from the opener to the main event matches. Nevertheless even after so many years of them teaming I still cannot shake the feeling that I am seeing two singles wrestlers together. Maybe it's the mismatched attire or the fact that Trent and Chuckie are polar opposites of each other in many ways. That being said, they certainly earn their keep, despite being overshadowed by Orange Cassidy in AEW so far."

They have had great matches in PWG, ROH, and GFW among other places. I feel like these guys could be big anywhere and win tag titles as well."

Starting from a comical tag team they work their way up as a more credible one and win this years DDT4. Best Friends Forever! Even with their comedic shenanigans they still pull through with having great matches."
