[9.0] "Rewatching this whole tournament was a fantastic experience. I only have ONE of seven matches under four stars and that was Fenix vs. White which was mediocre. This was one of the final crowning moments for the American Dragon and he had an incredible run. Bangers with Shingo, PAC, and Hangman that have aged so well its insane. This was arguably the best era of Hangman's heel run as well where he is booked consistently and correctly as a maniacal force. TK fumbles heel Hanger after this, but I believe when the time comes for him to return, it will land way better. Claudio vs. PAC is an overlooked, underrated gem too, kickstarting the tournament with a fantastic, fun Dynamite main. Owen would be proud. ****3/4"
[10.0] "The Men's Owen Hart Foundation (2024) is one of the better editions of the tournament's kind for it being a massive step compared to the first two in quality of matches and wrestlers competing, it has a prize that actually matters, all the wrestlers competing play a massive part in the tournament, particularly the return of unhinged heel Hangman Adam Page, Jeff Jarrett's masterpiece promo about his history with Owen Hart himself and Bryan Danielson winning the thing to go on and have his last big and most important match before retiring as a full time wrestler. Overall a spectacular tournament in terms of matches and moments."
[6.0] "Given Danielson has been on a 'Wrestler of the Year' tear, these matches should've been logged in his best of the year, but the Shingo and PAC matches disappointed. While I felt certain Danielson would win, it was nice to see such intrigue around Hangman's inclusion. No matches managed to break an 8 for me. It was nice to cheer for Jeff Jarrett for once."
[8.0] "This year's edition of the Owen Hart Foundation 2024 Men's Tournament was very decent. Danielson got a well-deserved win and therefore a title shot at the AEW World Championship. Page was interesting as a wild card but it was rather expected. And White, PAC, Finix, Claudio and Takagi are just added value to the whole tournament, they were great to watch. The only flaw I can have is Jeff taking a place for someone more interesting, as if they couldn't put Jay Lethal there."
[8.0] "Really good tournament with lots of strong matches, though that's not too surprising given how strong the field was. Bryan Danielson was MVP of the tournament as all of his matches were great. [MOTT: Bryan Danielson vs. Shingo Takagi]"
[9.0] "The 2024 edition of the men's Owen Hart Foundation Tournament was a great one, probably the best Owen so far, they had to respond to WWE running the King/Queen of the Ring and bringing back the prestige of that tournament, in which the winners were receiving title shots at SummerSlam, and AEW stacked the Owen Cup and made it worth title shots at All In, their biggest PPV, at Wembley Stadium, and that was the best decision possible, this is why competition is so good and necessary in pro-wrestling. Honestly this was even better than it looks, there wasn't a single bad match and the only reason it isn't getting a perfect rating is because the tournament wasn't long enough. I loved the fact that they turned Jeff Jarrett face, to honor his late friend Owen Hart, and all of his appearances were excellent, his match was awesome, and he was also amazing doing a cameo at the semifinal and being the special enforcer in the final. Independently of the future outcome, I loved that Bryan Danielson won the tournament, because of how much I want him to win the AEW World Title, and I truly believe that this Hangman character needs more suffering in his journey, he's in pain and he's being awesome under those conditions. But at the end of the day probably the main reason was, I love Danielson, I was partial. Fantastic tournament with only incredible matchups and great stories."
