[4.0] "The opener was exciting and daring, paying off their program well despite the unnecessary postmatch shenanigans. The second match was fun too and very fluid, but the ending was just a tad illogical. The third match frankly lacked personality and was unmemorable. The fourth match turned was a cool sprint that truly stole the show, but was woefully short. Sonjay/Mark was perfectly competent, even fun, but the pointless restart really hurts the match a lot simply to feed Zandig's ego. Acid/Blade is a fine midcard match, never rising above average but filling its spot well. B-Boy/Cholo was just boring and intensifies my complete lack of interest for B-Boy. Rave/Briscoe was the most grounded match of the night and featured neat matwork that made it very substantial. Sonjay/Acid knew it was short and worked hard and fast to become the best meeting between these two, but Homicide's interference, however popular he is, deeply devalues Sonjay's victory and continues Trent Acid's asinine overprotection. B-Boy/Jay was terribly slow, with B-Boy relying very heavily on restholds that meant nothing and making his finish look very mundane. The Finals had two guys that the crowd liked, but to me the match felt very paint-by-numbers and lacked any level of interest. The best half of the field was very enjoyable and made this tournament decent, but B-Boy was a terrible choice to win the tournament, being too new to have credibility and adopting a slow, repetitive style that may somewhat reach the crowd but that makes a dragged out boring watch that I dread watching for the following years."
