[10.0] "One of the best luchadors of all time who unfortunately in the USA has to overcome being associated with one of the funniest promos of all time. His punches, bumps, and selling are absolutely world class. Watch any match he has against Satanico to see one of the greatest face vs. heel dynamics around."
[10.0] "I am not educated on el dandy enough to really give a synopsis and analysis of his career and why he is so amazing. But every match Ive watched involving el dandy has been completely captivating with dandy being a huge component of it. His match with angel azteca is arguably the greatest match I have ever seen. Just an awesome old school lucha brawler and technician and already one of my favorite wrestlers even only seeing a handful of matches"
[10.0] "Never doubt El Dandy! Yeah, Bret Hart knew things. All jokes aside, WCW's booking really hurt this man's credibility and that is really unfortunate, since he wasn't just an average jobber without anything to offer. El Dandy might not be the greatest Mexican wrestler ever, but his former rating on the matchguide was ridiculously low. He's a legend in Mexico, a master in technical wrestling who probably was one of the best technicians in the world around 80s and 90s. (Edited. Originally written in June 8th, 2022)."
[10.0] "One of the best wrestlers from Mexico ever. One of the best wrestlers ever in general. Absolutely fantastic wrestler, El Dandy was an incredible brawler and bleeder and he was just as good at technical wrestler as well. Up there with El Hijo del Santo, Negro Casas and LA Park for the best mexican wrestlers ever."
[10.0] "El Dandy is quite possibly the biggest victim of WCW's nonsensical and terrible booking, as most people outside of the lucha scene just really know him as an enhancement talent and for a funny Bret Hart line (which was probably him trying to work an angle with him). In reality El Dandy is one of the greatest wrestlers to ever step foot into a wrestling ring, incredible at anything they asked him to do and with some geniuenly all time classic matches such as his famous mask vs hair match with Santito (That has a Negro Casas cameo), his rivalry with Angel Azteca and of course his incredible one with Satanico. El Dandy is quite honestly one the best, and that his rating on this site is not enough to get them into the top 100 is egregious."
[5.0] "Only saw his WCW stuff where he was mostly jobbing in singles matches against Mysterio/Juventud/Dragon or doing 6 man tag car crashes. Fine talent, but there were more flashy luchadores in WCW."
[10.0] "One of the best, if not the best, in ring performer in Mexicos history. It is a complete shame that lucha libre is such a joke to international wrestling fanbase, because this dude is easily a top 20 GOAT (in ring), so his work will always go underappreciated."
[9.0] "One of the best babyface runs of all time. Just a total stud, I could watch him do his thing with Satanico and Negro Casas for weeks on end. Maybe the most underrated wrestler ever by modern US fans, who the hell are you to doubt El Dandy? Also - GREAT PUNCHES."
[10.0] "El Dandy being this low rated is an absolute travesty. One of the best technical wrestlers to come out of Mexico and had incredible matches with the likes of Angel Azteca and Negro Casas. Deserves a lot more flowers than he gets."
[10.0] "El Dandy's rating being so low is completely absurd. One of the greatest technical wrestlers to ever come out of Mexico, El Dandy could make anyone (except David Flair) look incredible in the ring. He has multiple classic matches across multiple decades to his name. His work in WCW does not reflect the overall skill he had in ring. He could go toe to toe with anyone."
[10.0] "One of the greatest wrestlers ever. Quite why he's got a rating this low I'm not entirely sure. People don't really think his WCW run was as good as it got for him do they?"
[8.0] "El Dandy is a really good worker with some classic matches against Satanico, Negro Casas, Angel Azteca and El Hijo Del Santo. The low rating here on cagematch is really ridiculous considering how many recommended matches he has."
[7.0] "I always thought he was a talented worker. WCW never used their cruiserweights correctly. I mean, everyone remembers the Bret Hart promo, but actually the guy was pretty good. Shame he rarely got to show it to US crowds."
"I don't know what's up with his low rating, but every match of El Dandy I've seen has been a technical masterpiece. Especially the ones I've seen against Negro Casas and Angel Azteca. ."
[10.0] "Didn't watch him in WCW, where he was apparently a joke, so I'm judging him on his lucha libre matches. Tremendous in-ring worker, around 1990 he was probably the greatest wrestler in the world. El Dandy was not only very agile, but also had tons of personality."
