119.12.2025maven lover2.0He was a horrendously boring, bland worker with minimal competence, nearly no charisma or notable in-ring storytelling capabilities to speak of, & a gimmick that was too fucking stupid to not work in the 1990's. That's it. I'd say that someone similar would never work these days, but Joey Ryan exists, so what the fuck do I know? He's also known more nowadays for being an inconsolable transphobe, actively choosing to harass people like Nyla Rose, Gisele Shaw, Gabbi Tuft, Chelsea Green, & Nikki Cross. How great for him.
218.12.2025Brye0.0One of the absolute worst, imo. His gimmick definitely worked at the time and as a kid, I thought it was funny, but everything this guy did was garbage. His matches were bad and his promos, especially as Chief Morley, were horrendous. Not to mention that horrendous TNA run he had toward the end. I really don't think there's anything in this guy's career worth mentioning. Not to mention he seems like a genuinely terrible person.

1112.08.2025Rassle Fan2.0The guy was over for 10 minutes in 1998 with an admittedly funny gimmick. He wasn't a bad worker either but once that gimmick was gone so was he. He never got anywhere near the level of popularity he had for that one brief period of time. Eventually fans saw him for what the gimmick really was, a raunchier Ravishing Rick Rude knock off but with a fraction of Rude's charisma. He's also a garbage human being so minus points for that.
1210.08.2025crs2854.0Venis has a time where he was a good mid carder. He was solid in the ring during the attitude era and played the porn star gimmick well. Definitely had a ceiling of the mid-card because of in ring limitations and gimmick. Will probably always be best known for choppy choppy your pee pee. Outside of WWE he was unable to leave an impact anywhere on the industry despite attempts in NJPW and TNA.

1426.07.2025Moranjeboom8.0"HELLO LADIES! " - val venis had a decent level of in ring skill, some questionable storylines that he was given, and a lot of charisma that made him a very memorable and reliable mid carder - rare a val venis match disappoints, however rare one impresses too

1927.04.2025Havoc Rave1.0Val Venís was always someone average on WWF, a project focused on actitude was. But he was very bad, what is most remembered of him may be his role as part of Right to Censor or his confrontation against Ken Shamrock, his match in St. Valentine's Day Massacre is the worst thing I have seen in my whole life in WWE, the story was silly and unattractive, the Match was horrible and the result of the worst of all. Mainly that's why I hate him. He never showed skill and was just another mediocre in the backstage of the 99 '. (And the story where they cut their sausage with a katana is also horrible)
2016.04.2025Wunderkid Agreed with the guy below me excluding his whole "someone dares to go against the woke agenda" bullshit, This a wrestling website and the moderators need to do something about these ratings that are clearly motivated cause someone doesn't agree with a persons political views, or they said someone on a podcast they didn't like (see Disco Inferno's ratings), it's stupid.

2606.03.2025Darkvibes The recent ratings for Sean Morley, highlight a major issue with cagematch. I keep seeing the same thing, over and over for many different entries. Is it too much to ask to rate wrestlers according to in ring ability and promo skills, rather than what their political/personal views are? Let me remind you this is a wrestling website and a damn good one at that, been my primary source for information for years, yet it is being lost to the "easily offended" generation, who have zero continuity. People seem to overlook double murder suicides and rate them on "just wrestling" when it suits their narrative, but someone dares to go against the woke agenda and they get zeros? It's nonsense, pure muppetry. You are not here to cast judgement on the man, you are here to give a constructive, informative & fair reflection of a career, not something they might of said on a podcast. It's ruining the validity of the ratings and reviews. More spinebusters, less filibusters!

4014.09.2024WolfCola2.0Legitimately only enjoyed his tenure with Right To Censor. The pornstar gimmick was grating, and his in-ring work was generally subpar. Now he's just a bitter old man who spends his days sharing conspiracy theories and being bigoted while complaining about the woke communist left. The dude can't take a joke and beefed with a trans wrestler whose gimmick is a fun play on the Val Venis name (Valerie Venus). Unimpressive and forgettable.
4107.09.2024HC74.0

4619.06.2024wwetitlefan20.0This guy was never a good wrestler, never interesting on the mic, his gimmick was garbage, and he's a terrible human being on top of all that. The only memorable thing he did in his career was the "choppy choppy pee pee" segment. To this day, I have yet to see one person name one memorable moment outside of that. Even both his Intercontinental Championship runs were forgettable. Why WWE kept this guy employed all the way up to 2009 or why TNA hired this guy and pushed him over Christopher Daniels will never not be baffling to me.
4719.06.2024Pigeon Scratch0.0For a time on his Wikipedia page, someone edited his page to say "Currently he is a walking billboard for Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE)." and I think that perfectly sums him up. A decent worker in the attitude era, has truly fallen off the deep end. A conspiracy theorist bigot who spends his time on social media being a xenophobic, transphobic, massive piece of shit, spewing hate on transgender wrestlers while also spreading misinformation on stuff like vaccinations. Ultimately, he will be completely forgotten about in the grand scheme of things. a totally fine wrestler who was known for his pornstar gimmick and somehow winning the intercontinental title who has completely lost his entire reputation quickly.
4831.05.2024Dntbamark5.0In ring, I'll say Val was an entertaining character that was only going to work during the Attitude Era. He was a decent wrestler in the ring and they would try to shift his personality during his tenure but he was never anything more than artifact of the attitude era by the time the mid early - to - mid 2000s came along. I try not to comment on the personal lives of some of these guys because most of them can be exposed as shit bags in some form or another but Val's behavior has gotten increasingly troublesome over the years. Clearly he's taken alot of shots in the head because he's since become a man whose hell-bent on working the Christian Libertarian grift while spreading hateful rhetoric towards the trans community as well as weird anti-vaccine stuff. Clearly, he's a guy whose gone off the deep end and I hope he gets help sooner or later.

5108.05.2024Nard1900.0Peaked as a lower mid carder with average ability that was never a talking point or a draw. I remember him most for taking a splash off the cage from Rikishi. Turned into a xenophobic bigot that spreads crazy conspiracy theories and all round hate filled rhetoric. I would have rated him a 5 or 6 because of his wrestling career but a man so set on spreading hate, misinformation and crazy consiracy theories doesnt deserve a rating at all. I'd like to remember him as the sleazy character he played but will actually remember him far worse for the human being he is than the character he played.

5624.01.2024benny5bellys4.0He was an entertaining gimmick wrestler while in the WWF/E which worked as I was a teenager then. Just try and ignore the fact he clearly got dropped on his head a few too many times and has gone off into the deep end.

5820.01.2024BMWrestling179.0Val Venis is one of the most awesome gimmicks ever. So funny and entertaining. It's still great to see his old matches and promos. Great wrestling skills too, there's a reason he was very popular during 1998 until early 2000. Never forget Big Valbowski!
5909.12.2023humanserpent5.0
6003.11.2023Akatsuki8.0Always found the Big Valbowski funny & entertaining and that was telling during the Attitude Era as he was clearly over. Though in the ring he was decent at best, his insane & hilarious gimmick allowed him to thrive. From the "Hello Ladies" catchphrase to his sexual storylines, it's a damn shame we can't get that level of entertainment in recent years.
6122.10.2023Childofthelost1.0Vals a horrible wrestler and somehow an even worse human being. Never seen a match of his I enjoyed outside of Royal Rumble 2002. His NJPW run in 2009 was especially hard to watch. His gimmick was able to produce some passionate fans thats without a doubt, but for me personally Ive always disliked him and have even flipped the channel or fast forwarded his work. Not the worst ever but honestly not far from it. Giving him a 1 because he was able to connect with some, but I dont think he deserves anything above that personally.
6217.10.2023GonzoAppreciator2.0Val Venis was marginally entertaining during the Attitude Era with his pornstar gimmick as it helped to cover his lack of any real in-ring talent but once he joined RTC Venis' matches became completely unwatchable and never got any better until he retired. Him beating Daniels in 2009 reigns as one of the most baffling booking decisions I've ever seen in my time watching wrestling. Also, in recent years Venis has shown himself to be a complete transphobic scumbag. The only match of his that I would ever recommend to anyone would be the cage match against Rikishi and that only be because of Rikishi's crazy dive off the cage.

7021.06.2023No One6.0
7101.06.2023Dynamax Dawn1.0I'll give him one point for longevity. But the man is a tranphobic garbage fire, and he only got over because he was a fake pornstar in the attitude era. There's no way he would have gotten over in modern WWE as he's only decent in the ring by attitude era mid card standards. And like what would his gimmick be in modern WWE? maybe a tag team with Rhonda Rousey called Terf Enough? Sounds atrocious. Honestly I feel guilty giving him a 1 as he doesn't even deserve that.
7226.05.2023Giantfan19805.0Dude had his place in the Russorifice Attitude Era and although I thought the pornstar gimmick was too much Jerry Springer trash for 1998, he got over for about 2 years and peaked as IC champ. Then he just became another body in the Right To Sensor, left for a little while, came back as Val Venis before getting repackaged into Chief Morely and he was just another body on the roster hanging out in the lower card.

8028.02.2023kewf19887.0Val Venis is a very underrated wrestler who played his character extremely well and got it over. In the ring, he had a solid moveset and was a GREAT seller.
8119.02.2023WhatIsLooveee6.0Quite an entertaining character who turned out to be in the right place at the right time, diluting the division in the famous Attitude Era with a rather eccentric unique gimmick.

8416.01.2023Conquistador378.0His ring work is totally fine, in fact I think he's one of the unsung heroes of the Attitude era along with D-Lo Brown. He's an excellent talker but of course some of that was squandered on the porn star bit. Outside of the ring he gets a ZERO because, yah... not even gonna waste time. Anyone hard on him (pun intended) for the porno thing, you need to lighten up. Was it limited and kinda dim? yup. did he transcend it with work rate? YES! and don't lie and say he didn't! dude was solid from '98 to 08, rewatch his stuff on mute if you can't handle the adult themes. Notable chemistry with Rikishi but he gelled well with essentially everyone. His most glaring flaw was a large stretch of time taken off for an injury - that pretty much derailed things. 7.5 rounded up.

9017.09.2022face painted legend8.0Over like rover. He looked every bit of the part of the sleazy porn star character they portrayed him as. Had a great series of vignettes -- I would put them up there with Million Dollar Man, Mr. Perfect, Boss Man, etc. in terms of building excitement for a character . Had one of the more memorable debuts at least in terms of reaction that I can remember anyone in WWF history having. I forgot who he wrestled, but that place exploded when Val walked out, and he debuted AS A HEEL. I still to this day say man, that was a great build to a debut. A lot of his promos were written for him by russo or whoever, but his delivery& performance of them in that sleazy porn star esque voice made them memorable. His catchphrase of "Hello Ladies" was a huge hit, again go back and watch the first time he was on t.v.. Those two words ignited the crowd as much as any opening to any other music they had lol. The latter part of his run was more focused away from the character and on his in ring work which was ok because he was a good in ring worker. I remember him having solid feuds with Rikishi, him and Lance feuded with the Dudleyz, Jerry Lawler, etc, but I guess to me the first year and a half of the Val Venis character was his most prominent ( Spring 1998- Early 2000).

9607.04.2022OnlyHalfTheEffinShow5.0He gets a 5 because he was a good worker in the Attitude Era and his gimmick was over. Speaking of, his gimmick is what keeps him on the low end here. The whole "pornstar" gimmick has *NOT* aged well and plenty of his work in the late 90's and early 2000's can be cringey to watch in hindsight. His inability to move beyond the Val Venis character, and all his subsequent attempts to get over as Sean/Chief Morley is what keep him as a 5. Oh yeah, and he's fucking crazy outside the ring so that doesn't help.
9701.03.2022joshjackal2.0In the ring, Val Venis was...fine. Unexceptional but average-ish. And that's the best thing you can possibly say about him. His porn star gimmick was stupid from the start, and as it went on and on and on it just got more and more tiresome. When he wrestled without the porn star gimmick (with Right to Censor or as Chief Morley), he was boring and vanilla as hell. Oh and also he's a terrible person who spreads misinformation, bigotry, and just plain bitterness. Like, spend a couple minutes looking at his twitter feed. Regardless of your political beliefs, the guy is just deeply unpleasant and nasty.
9806.02.2022GreyScaleLJH2.0Average wrestler at best, brought absolutely nothing else to the table. Horrible gimmick that has only aged poorly, no mic skills or personality to go with it anyway, not to mention an absolute shit human being.
9929.12.2021Sloppy Sammy0.0Outside of his cringeworthy gimmick Val brought very little to the table. His run as Sean Morley in the wwe showed that he acthlly had very little charisma and was just boring. Dude was only passable in the ring, he never broght any fire and intensity. Outside of the ring comes off as very bitter and has a shitty outlook when it comes to trans people. Maybe in his mind he thought he was a big part of the attitude era or something but i dont think many people are clamoring for the return of Val Venis.
