[2.0] "She declined a ton since getting called up. I think her work with the way was actually good but nothing else in her career is good. She's been rough in the ring since 2023 and has seemed to get even worse."

Tessa may be problematic & Masha may be going through things, but at least neither of those people wrestle like they're learning to use their body for the first time every single time they get in a wrestling ring. She is awkward AF, completely lacks charisma & any form of in-ring fervor, & has a way of waywardly wandering into the next spot rather than domineeringly positioning herself there. Like any wrestler whom sucks, she does have the ability to do flashy spine busters & superplexes & various similar moves, but her basic strikes & core fundamentals are simply abysmal (& after a decade of experience, too, damn! ). In TNA, she should be realistically jobbed out to jobbers on Xplosions, but she is being given opportunities that should realistically be reserved for wrestlers ten times as talented as her. The fact that she was chosen to end Blanchard's streak is absolutely insane. Her promos have no personality. She tries to make up for this with a very silly "B)" face that she keeps forced on at all times. It doesn't work."

She's fun and has that enjoyable energy to her character, though she's a somewhat slower, less stylish wrestler at times, I do enjoy the more powerhouse style she brings, though I do wish she would do more grapples and throws with her power."

Her ring work keeps improving, and she always makes her moments count. Once she finds that next gear in pacing and intensity, she can be a consistent standout on any roster."

The Dexter stuff in NXT likely bought her more time in the business that she wouldn't have had otherwise."

She reminds me of Titus O'Neil in that her movements are weird and unnatural at all times, like she's struggling to understand how to use her legs. If she hasn't improved by now I doubt it's ever going to happen."

That said, her WWE run left a lot to be desired in terms of in-ring work and character development. She often felt like a blank slate with not much direction or edge to her gimmick. However, since leaving WWE and starting her run on the indies and now in TNA, I've been pleasantly surprised. She's clearly putting in the work and improving steadily. Her matches have more intensity and personality, and she looks far more comfortable in her skin. There's still room to grow, but it's been great to watch her evolve into a more complete performer."
Lucha Robin wrote on 12.06.2025:

She's the unsung hero of the midcard, the life of the "fun but not earth-shattering" party. So, if you're looking for five-star classics, maybe look elsewhere. But if you want a wrestler who can entertain, endear, and occasionally surprise you, Indi's your gal."

This time with more confidence in her ability and experience. Her match against Mercedes Mone pretty much proved that she has talent and ability beyond anything she was able to display on WWE during her first run and, while I understand some of the lower ratings given to her because of the limits placed on her in WWE, I urge everyone to take a look at her recent work and reconsider. I don't think there are many women wrestlers that can compare with Hartwell's height and athletic ability, along with her high wrestling IQ and natural charisma. Indi Hartwell is proof that, sometimes leaving or being released from WWE is the best thing that could happen to a wrestlers career. I look forward to see how far she goes, with her newfound momentum and opportunity."

Shes shown tremendous growth since debuting in NXT, proving shes more than just a sidekick or comedic relief. Her in-ring work is dependableshes not the flashiest wrestler, but she tells a good story and plays her role well in matches. Her size and strength give her a unique edge, and shes shown she can adapt to different opponents. Where Indi truly shines is her character work; her comedic timing and ability to connect with fans make her stand out, especially during The Way storyline. However, shes still developing as a top-tier wrestler. Her mic skills are decent but could use more polish, and her matches sometimes lack the standout moments that elevate others to the next level. Still, with time and experience, Indi could easily climb higher."

However watching Indi grow from watching her back in Australia and then being a jobber on Raw and NXT for a while against the likes of Tegan Nox and Shayna Baszler to then really growing into one of the biggest attractions in NXT alongside The Way and Dexter Lumis to then put under the pressure on her own and having an amazing stand and deliver performance and even becoming NXT women's champion. I mean even not ever losing the title as she was the first woman to be officially drafted to the main roster whilst being NXT women's champion. Indi has so much to give and you can see her love for the business. Especially after her match at Elimination chamber where her crowd went crazy for her. Just need WWE to give her more of an opportunity to showcase again how impressive she can be!"

"Unfortunately she has been pigeonholed into a comedy act due to her NXT booking. Anybody who saw her Australian independent work knows she is better than how she has been presented in WWE. I am not saying she is Charlotte Flair in the ring or even close, but she has more personality than 90% of the women on the roster and could easily be used as a top heel or top heel valet if presented seriously and allowed to do her thing."

[2.0] "Because Bayley constantly praises her both in interviews and on social medias, I have tried to watch a dozen of Indi's matches, both singles and tags from different eras to not be biased by her current situtation of being a complete jobber. And like a lot of the last reviews mention, Indi Hartwell is mediocre as an in ring talent. She is tall but doesn't have the strength to be a powerhouse, she is really sloppy and clunky in most of her movements which makes her actions unrealistic because her opponents always look dumb waiting for her to do her things, and she has little to no impact in her strikes, slams or whatever grapples from her moveset. I have also watched multiple promos and unfortunately for her, she isn't a good talker either. Her delivery sounds unnatural, her facial expressions aren't good. The only thing where she didn't look out of place was during comedy segments back in NXT with Dexter Lumis because they were mean to be goofy and not serious acting. She seems like someone who loves wrestling but unfortunately she is not good at it."

She's slow, boring and I can't remember a single decent promo from her. Her face never expresses any emotion, she keeps her mouth open and her eyes blank. I've never understood how she became NXT Champion and think she can thank Candice for her tag team reign. She clearly doesn't belong in the main roster, nor has she improved in years."

She can't cut a promo and has never really been in a good match. I heard a lot about her a few years ago and then I went to catch up and didn't see what all the hype was about. She's completely devoid of charisma or overall in ring talent. After trying to watch her after my initial rating and give her another chance, I was a little surprised to find that she hasn't gotten any better. She's slow and clunky in the ring and her timing is very inconsistent. With 8 years of experience, as of this writing, there's no excuse for that."

That is in part fault of the writers and she herself, she is not an interesting performer, nor is she a great in-ring wrestler. She seems to be a very nice person outside of wrestling, someone you would love to hang out with, but in terms of wrestling, she is below average."

Her moves are slow and look bad and her timing seems off most of the time. Her run as NXT Women's Champion was a waste, they only gave it to her because she was an NXT vet and then proceeded to get called up and is just there, not doing anything. Maybe she'll get better with some more main roster experience... but I doubt it. Candice needs to drop Indi and Indi needs to find something new to do, maybe check out NXT again or get some matches on Main Event to improve because with the rate she's going now, she's going to get left in catering while Candice shines in the spotlight."

She has a decent look, being taller than a majority of the roster and having a natural babyface demeanor, but other than that she feels like she lacks in every field. Her charisma is lacking, her moveset is generic, and she moves around in the ring as if she's a teenager that just went through a growth spurt, like she's uncomfortable in her own body. To end on a brighter note, the few interactions I've seen between her and the rest of The Way (especially Dexter Lumis, the assist at the end of Stand and Deliver ladder match made me and my mom cry) have been really good and it is very clear she is over with the fans, and the stated issues I have with her can be ironed out, and I believe she has potential and can be a beloved star on the main roster in a few years time."

Starting off as a complete nobody jobber on NXT before being taken under the wings of Johnny Gargano and Candice LeRae and getting over with the crowd very quickly. She was also progressing very quickly in the ring as well, having some very solid matches teaming with her stablemates. Her personality shone through and she got to show off her charisma and character range, which eventually got her into a super fun storyline with Dexter Lumis that culminated in a great wedding segment. However, after the 2.0 rebrand of NXT, her parental figures Gargano and LeRae took a leave of absence, while her fellow stablemate Austin Theory got a main roster call up. Though she quickly reemerged and formed a team with real life friend Persia Pirotta. They had a decent run with some decent matches, but then Pirotta was suddenly released, leaving Indi in the dust again. Since then, Hartwell has regressed in the ring and she's been putting on some pretty bad matches. The Dexter Lumis story made me a fan, and I'm still a fan, but she desperately needs a tag partner to carry some of the load for her because she just doesn't excel in a singles setting, which is totally fine. Lots of tag team specialists struggle to make the transition to singles too. Once she's out of this rut and shows some improvement, a call up to continue her team with Candice LeRae is a must. She has very little potential as a singles wrestler."
