The snapping and the little crouch dance and the Dig What I'm Sayin's Mans, he doesn't ever deliver them at quite the right time and/or in the right way. Like, he obviously has the *idea* of how someone should perform, it's all just off a little bit. The result is just, well, boring. A total disconnect and the death of any interest. A little south of Mid, not really good at all but not especially bad either. Should he be featured on AEW programming almost weekly when I can go to a local indy show and find a dozen wrestlers who are just as frustratingly OK in the ring but leagues better at connecting with an audience? Not really up for me to say, I guess. 3.5 rounded up to 4 because 3 just feels mean to a guy like Vincent. Like I said, he's fine as a wrestler doing wrestling moves. |

I can't say he's good but that's one hell of a hustle. Vinny Marseglia was any other high flier indie guy from the northeast except that he based his entire look and style around Jeff Hardy up until he got Randy Orton's tat sleeves and added some of Randy's stuff to his arsenal. Then, in a trickle down effect of Cole becoming ROH's top guy making Taven & Bennett relevant, guys from the Northeast Wrestling scene came up to be ROH guys, and Vinny was among them. I'll at least say that getting on TV made him finally start trying to find a look and gimmick that didn't come off like a bootleg, but even then it took him years and he eventually settled on getting dreadlocks and doing a pretty bland cult leader gimmick. Vincent and The Righteous are just not that engaging, even if guys IN that stable are good like Dutch & Grayson, because a decade of doing somebody else's shtick left Vincent without much unique charisma. As an in-ring guy, he's the definition of passable; I've seen him live and in-person at a couple NEW shows (including a singles match against Jeff Hardy, believe it or not), and I couldn't tell you a single thing he does from memory outside of a decent swanton. I can't say anything truly BAD about him outside of a lack of originality, but I don't think he's really all that good either. |

Since then, Marseglia has refined his "Horror King" persona into an entertaining gimmick, with several moves and horror movie-themed antics, and always has strong ring work. He has yet to really get to show himself in singles action in ROH, having thus far worked as a tag team with fellow Kingdom member TK O'Ryan, or in trios action with O'Ryan and Taven, as well as playing a supporting role to Taven in singles action. But, if and when he does go solo, he should more than hold his own. |
