[8.0] "Easily one of the most recognizable faces in chilean wrestling. When Gastón Mateo debuted at Revolución Lucha Libre, he was given the gimmick of a cult leader. He and his peers were known as Los Mateístas, spotting a masonic-inspired demeanor. While Gastón Mateo wasn't a proficent technician, he was incredibly charismatic and had great mic skills. Therefore, the whole gimmick became extremely popular with the fans. Later on, Mateo left RLL and became a founding member of Xplosión Nacional de Lucha, the first-ever chilean promotion that dared to split from RLL and do cross-promotion shows with companies from Mexico and Japan. He also was one of the first chilean wrestlers that dared to venture into Japan, competing in NOAH's tag team division. Known also for being an extremely hard worker, he has wrestled in almost every major chilean promotion, and won many different championships across the country. A future hall of famer for sure."
