[6.0] "Underrated, overhated, especially for a rookie. The guy has a classic pro wrestling look, and was improving slowly but surely before his release. I hope he gets an even shot in ROH/AEW. The worst that happens is he doesn't hit and everyone was right. Hopefully he surprises a few people."
[7.0] "I feel bad for Cal, it's not his fault that Vince saw so much in him and he didn't live up to the expectations of fans. Granted he's not amazing in the ring, his moveset is average and his promo work wasn't great. But he has untapped potential that he can totally unlock with time and his chemistry with manager Mr. Stone, was surprisingly good. there is a lot they could of done with Von, the vignette with Von talking about his Trigonocephalis could of been a great way to turn him face. I was liking the direction but now with his release, being a future main eventer is now a "what if" unless he comes back. And I'd love to see that."
[6.0] "Bloom and Sidney Akeem were both victims of circumstance; they signed main roster contracts under Vince before either of them were ready and enjoyed the salary with none of the travel deductions down in NXT. This continued until the bean-counters under the new regime realised things weren't adding up. Akeem's doing well out there but Bloom needs to be resigned with a proportionate pay cut I'm sure he'd be happy to take. He won't get over anywhere else (much less get booked) and his angle with Robert Stone was a very guilty pleasure. I want him back on TV, simple as. He's not good, so what? I like him."
[3.0] "Of course it's unfortunate when anyone loses their jobs, but Von Wagner has had multiple opportunities to grow and just wasn't succeeding in NXT. It seems fair to assume that we'd seen all he was capable of at the moment and was restricted from grow beyond that. Perhaps his release will allow him to get valuable experience on the independent with a promotion that could provide him more room to develop his skills."
[7.0] "Not gonna lie to yall, I was never really a fan of his until the fued with Bron Breakker a few months ago. Ever since then, him and Mr. Stone have insane amounts of chemistry together and are hilarious in their little segments. Hes gotten better in the ring as well."
[7.0] "I love this guy. He's not a great in ring performer but he's fine. Outside of the ring he's very entertaining. The segments from NXT last year developing his character were phenomenal. He's just got something and I want to see the Wagner/Stone act continue onto the main roster."
[7.0] "is his in ring ability below average? yes. Is his funny voice an absolute hinder of his mic skills? absolutely. Is he in the "it's so bad it's good" territory? maybe. Do I enjoy everything he does and the corny story told about his career? hell yeah. He might be the heart and soul of NXT 2.0 with no exaggeration. I love this guy, hope he can get better and actually achieve something substantial, really rooting for him."
[7.0] "Von Wagner is fun. His voice is weird and a lot of the time its obvious he's reading from a script, but his ring work is good, the table gimmick is fun (could potentially be expanded to being a hardcore gimmick entirely to help cover up the talking flaws but I doubt WWE would do that), and his storyline relationship with Mr. Stone is campy and entertaining. Von Wagner as a future North American Champion? I love that idea."
[2.0] "I've given this guy a chance ever since NXT 2.0 started and bluntly I just don't see it. His promo skills are only passable in how funny the bad promo is, his in-ring is boringly mediocre and he has negative presence. I've never seen him elevate his side of a feud. He's been called up twice and clearly did not pass the test of WWE executives either time. Maybe he would have been passable decades ago but I just don't see him fitting into the modern wrestling product."
[6.0] "I'm starting to see the potential in Von Wagner. It was hard to visualize him as a face but it's somehow working. I prefer athletic big guys in wrestling so I enjoy his in-ring work. Character-wise, he was very bland but the table gimmick is adding some interest. I think he is capable of cutting good promos and I'm curious to see how him and Mr. Stone work together going forward."
[6.0] "Recently making a progress and I start to like him more, after the whole life story he spoke, at first I was thinking of him as a meme, but he's now growing on me, he tries to improve, he is still only 4 year experienced and 29 years old, I think year by year he will get really better, I'm giving him a chance, it's a 6 for me, im starting to be satisfied a bit with Von Wagner story"
[4.0] "RE-EDIT, As of right now, Von is improving in the ring. However WWE is not doing a good enough job right now on making this guy serious. Although he is good on the size, strength, and look department. The rating may change in the future again."
[6.0] "Von Wagner has been wrestling for about 4 years now. He's got way better in the ring lately. But he needs to work on his gimmick and mic skills"
[3.0] ""Hey Dijak! Take those stupid sunglasses off! We're inside! ". Von Wagner is simply a meme wrestler at this stage. He is fine in the ring but has absolutely no personality, mic skills, or presence. If they leaned more into a comedy character for him I think that would work well. Otherwise he's just a boring big man wrestler who became a meme for his laughably bad mic skills."
[5.0] "He's tall and looks like a caveman, but in a good way in that he looks like somebody you wouldn't want to mess with, like a old 70's style big guy in a way. However like many of them, Wagner is not a particularly impressive wrestler despite clearly being athletic given his football background. He just isn't much to talk about in-ring, but he's definitely improved from what he was when he started, having more decent outings and looking more natural in the ring. I'm not sure he has much of a cap in terms of potential but as a low to mid-card role? Sure, he just needs to get a lot better at promos lol."
[7.0] "A solid worker who is unintentionally funny whenever he cuts a promo. He has no charisma but luckily Mr. Stone is there to cover for him in that regard"
[2.0] "Big lad who dose big lad things.if he worked in some indy i eould get the point of having him here but for wwe even it devlopmental its a no from me"
[0.0] "Gee, where do I begin with Von Wagner. He's got a great look, but that is all he has going for him, other than the Cum Tuesday meme. He has no charisma, is bland as hell, sucks on the mic, and is not that good in the ring"
[5.0] "These are some harsh ratings for a guy with only a year on TV under his belt. I think I was too harsh myself with 4/10 so I am promoting him to 5! He is so bland though, generic, has no charisma and unfortunately the geniuses behind NXT 2.0 decided to give him a truly bizarre name; one that makes me unable to take him seriously. But unlike everyone else it seems; I think he looks pretty good in the ring."
[1.0] "If there was ever an example of someone getting opportunities solely based on size, it's Von Wagner. No charisma, no in-ring skills, nothing interesting about him at all. He's tall, that's it."
[3.0] "Von Wagner is perfectly fine in small doses when hes doing quick run-ins or beatdowns but he's simply not quite there as a worker yet, he has potential with the "unpredictable force of nature" character he's running with, and with Robert Stone handling promos, he has plenty of time to sharpen his game inside the ring."
[4.0] "3 years and still no improvement, he is a generic wrestler, without any variety of movements, although with Robert Stone at his side it makes him look better, but many of his style have been with a manager in difficult moments. Big Show/Paul Heyman, Mark Henry/Tony Atlas on their ECW reign, and now WWE is trying to fit the Omos/MVP pairing together and we'll see how they do. In fact, Von Wagner has not stood out in anything so far, 0 charisma, 0 mic skills and 0 variety of movements."
[2.0] "I've seen enough. Von Wagner lacks anything that makes a pro wrestler good, except for the size. But even then, his power moves don't look convincing, he looks clunky in the ring."
[3.0] "Just not very good. Not horrible in ring but lacks charisma or anything to make him stand out. Also rather poor look for a big man, he looks like Edge's Cro-Magnon son."
[6.0] "For a rookie, he's a pretty fine or decent enough wrestler in the ring, who still needs more experienced workers to help carry the match for him to compensate for his greenness, and not only he needs more moves to add to his basic repertoire, he needs a better finisher that's more impactful or unique than just a double underhook slam. However, despite glimpses of intensity and potential there, it's quite literally everything else that he has to work on. Besides his weird caveman/Khali-looking appearance (good physique and size aside) or his strong Minnesota accent that he can't really change, he is perhaps probably the blandest guy in NXT 2.0 by a wide margin next to Xyon Quinn who at least has a strong look and more charisma. His current tights attire is unflattering as if he hasn't gotten enough VC in WWE 2K to unlock more CAW parts, and his theme song is almost like a wet fart of a country theme. His gimmick is somewhat vague in that he's "an unconventional man with unconventional methods" (flipping over tires and slamming down a sledgehammer), has a pickup truck, and likes to drink beer with his friends in the woods, albeit his recent heel turn could help to change that. His promos are quite lacking and feel very wooden in delivery, as if he's reading from an invisible script; he's clearly unconfident and uncomfortable, even nervous, on the mic."
[5.0] "von Wagner a normal wrestler, a little rookie but has some talent to be great and successful within WWE in the future. he needs to have a good gimnick"
[4.0] "Von Wagner could be great, but currently there's so much going against him that I can't see him becoming great. He has very little charisma, can't cut a promo over a minute, his character is bland and he has no gimmick, and the NXT crowd already hate him as he was pushed to the top way too quickly. In ring wise, he can hold his own whilst looking dominant, but he's a bit green and has a very basic move set. He's been compared to Edge a fair bit over the past few months, but Von Wager needs an edge if he wants to become anywhere close to the Rated R Superstar"
