Penelope Ford

[4.0] "Meh. I don't think anything is TOO bad about her but her work just bores me a ton if I'm being honest. The pairing with Megan Bayne has helped her and I hope she can do good things when she does return from injury."

[10.0] "Penelope Ford is an excellent, gorgeous and incredibly hot female wrestler. Unfortunately, she has quite a few limitations. I feel that she can only make it as an AEW Women's Tag Team Champion. As a veteran and founding member of the AEW women's division, she definitely deserves better treatment and more respect."

[10.0] "Penelope Ford is a talented wrestler and effective heel character. Other professional wrestlers know this and have a great deal of respect for her work. Knowledgeable fans of wrestling also appreciate her. She works hard to put over management favorites and make them look good. Tony Khan could certainly do more with her, but there's a reason why she's still on television regularly when so many other originals in the women's division have fallen by the wayside."

[8.0] "I think she can be a little rough around the edges sometimes but I love her work. I think the tag team with Megan Bayne has done great for her as well. Nice still having an AEW original around as well."

[7.0] "Penelope Ford.. she's a fun flippy heel wrestler who honestly confuses the hell out of me. I find her to be a fun presence in the ring, good entrance, decent moveset, good heel work. Watch her match with Shida to see how good she is in the ring. Her mic skills aren't good or bad, they're nearly non-existent. What's confusing is that she's incredibly inconsistent in the ring in a way that feels intentional, as if she's holding back to protect her opponents. We saw this when she hit Willow with the weakest chair shot of all time, making Willow's excellent selling look ridiculous. We also saw this in her match with Harley and Anna where she hit Harley with an incredibly sloppy Doomsday device that didn't even come close to connecting. WWE would have likely fired her ages ago but she is good and I love her team with Megan Bayne."

[3.0] "Never liked her, the only good thing she did was that street fight and with last week's bullying of Thunder Rosa was completely unprofessional. I had a 6 on her genuinely only because of that street fight and now I can easily lower it to 3 because being unprofessional is the worst thing you can do in a fake sport"

[6.0] "Ford has a good move set and is pretty athletic in the ring. She has not impressed me on the mic or with character work yet but I do think she has potential. Booking in AEW has been very inconsistent so far."

[7.0] "I think that Penelope Ford is a severely underated wrestler. She has a unique moveset, her ring work is more than good enough, even her character work is quite good but she has been severely underused by AEW. The few times she is given the opportunity, she makes the most of it yet even with her good performances, she is rarely on TV."

[7.0] "Absolutely beautiful and solid as hell in the ring. She'll probably never give a 5-star match, but I also haven't ever seen a Penelope match that has disappointed me."

[7.0] "I think many people stereotype her into that ''hot girl that can't wrestle'' category but she actually can. She's not Manami Toyota but I think she's good. It's kinda disappointing how little matches she gets on TV and how much worse talents get way more exposure."

[6.0] "Penelope Ford is perfectly fine as a wrestler and all-around performer. She has solid charisma, although I don't even know if she can cut a promo. Her pairing with Kip Sabian is pretty good (Kip is actually a better valet than wrestler, I find). Her in-ring work is solid-- I wouldn't call her a ring general or anything but she definitely can put on a solid show. I'm not sure why she hasn't been pushed more, to be honest."

[7.0] "Penelope has always been a strong performer, but in AEW, she has really taken it to the next level. She's had several good matches, especially with Hikaru Shida in 2021 and when she had that street fight with the Bunny against TayJayy later on. Ford's also a really good manager for Kip Sabian, and I love it when she comes on my TV. I really want to see more from her."

[6.0] "Prior to her return from injury I wasn't the biggest fan of Penelope. I liked her as a manager for Kip and occasionally liked one of her matches (the no DQ tag with Allie against Anna and Tay being one of her few highlights) but I would have said she was one of the weaker parts of AEW's women's division. But her past couple of matches have shown a big mark of improvement in quality. I know look forward to seeing Penelope show up on Dynamite and Rampage."

[10.0] "I have maintained for the last couple years that if she was sent on excursion to TJPW, she'd become the best women's wrestler in AEW, and one of the very finest in the world. Her potential is clear to me, but she just needs more in ring time to properly reach her heights. Even from what we've seen, she's delivered consistent excellence on weekly TV."

[4.0] "For some reason she gets high ratings despite a long streak of matches being rated poorly with virtually the entire AEW roster. The only things I've seen that are apparently positives are the fact that she can apparently do any style (not seen anything like that but sure) great charisma (but hasn't done a promo so....) and she's very athletic (meaning she does flips and week 1 handspring stuff). I seen her having a submission match last year and she was dreadful, a utter drag in the ring. Ok, maybe it's because that was mat-based, let's try her carrying some younger rookies....nope, still the same. I think at some point you kinda have to admit that she's not good and AEW appear to at least semi-understand that as she's had three matches this year in total and they've all been sub-10 nothing showings. She's fine as a undercard/Dark act but 7 years wrestling for that is a rough deal, no lie."

[5.0] "One of the many acceptable but totally forgettable wrestlers in the AEW women's division. She has some impressive flexibility and agility, and she carries herself decently as an arrogant heel, but she struggles stringing sequences together smoothly or getting full impact on her individual attacks. She at least has a distinctive look, plus a few cool moves when she can pull them off cleanly, so she could easily be a star with the right booking and some effort towards polishing her technique."

[6.0] "She did improve a lot in the ring. If she keeps improving with this speed I have to change my rating in a few months."

[4.0] "Penelope Ford may just be the worst regular on AEW television. She's been wrestling for almost 7 years & you'd never know. Nothing she does is particularly memorable or noteworthy. I get you need bodies but there are so many better women out there & yet somehow she's getting a singles match in front of 20, 000 fans."

[7.0] "Penelope Ford is a solid talent. She's athletic, decent in-ring, and has a great look. Her mic skills don't really matter because AEW doesn't let their women cut promos, but from what little I've heard she's okay. Penelope has future star written all over her, but AEW doesn't tend to acknowledge her record in the women's division. Up until recently she had a 5-0 record, but hasn't been present in the rankings at all. It's frustrating that they book her so strongly but then never acknowledge her or consider putting her into title contention. She's just always viewed as "Kip Sabian's wife", when her ceiling could be so much higher. She had an absolute banger against Shida last year, I'm not sure why they haven't revisited that feud yet. Anyways, Penelope has crazy potential to be a huge star but her weird booking holds her back a lot."

[7.0] "Penelope Ford is athletic and charismatic. She's a solid wrestler, with good matches, and a great athletic moveset as well. I feel AEW could do far more with her though. She's well rounded and has all of the potential to be the face of the women's division there"

[7.0] "I really like her, she's a reliable worker that can put decent matches against any kind of wrestler, have a lot of athleticism and good selling skills. She's not the kind of wrestlers that's going to give you 4 or 5 stars matches every year but still is a capable wrestler that can improve a lot more in the coming years."

"Penelope Ford has improved dramatically over the last two years. She is very capable and with AEW's paper thin women's division it's bizarre that she hasn't been featured more. She's far from the finished article but then why would she be at this point in her career? She has a relatively small move set but executes it all well. She sells well and being the mean girl you want to get her comeuppance will never go out of fashion. Hey AEW, let her wrestle! Let her feud with Shanna on Dark at least or something."

[5.0] "For me she looks like she is improving and then she just gets back to where she was when she started improving and the cycle starts again. She can be a bit annoying when with Kip Sabian."

[7.0] "Penelope Ford has managed to catch up with Kip Sabian as a real partner in her duo ever since she got to show off her abilities against Riho and Kenny Omega back on Jericho's cruise ship. She looks good on the ring, has great athleticism and seems to be progressing well as I personally find her much more interesting as a character than half a year ago. Good for her, I hope she continues to work hard. Without really having seen her in a fully-fledged feud, it is hard to rate her promo abilities, but right now, with Kip Sabian, she is a welcome sight on AEW Dynamite."

[7.0] "I've only seen Ford in AEW, but I've come to really like her there. She has good athleticism, solid charisma, and works well as a valet and, at least in limited doses, an in-ring performer. She's probably not putting on five-star matches or cutting legendary promos any time soon, but she does what she does and she's good at it."

[6.0] "She's easy to like because she's always next to Janela & compared to that sack of lard, she's Lou Thesz in the ring. But in all honesty, she is mostly the master of the basic athletic women's moveset (handsprings, tilt-a-whirls, & hurracarranas). As a manager, she certainly adds something to Janela's act."

[8.0] "Has progressed really well in the last year and you can see why AEW would want her on the roster. Will only get better, very athletic and flippy in ring leading to great spots. "i'm a bad girl? " perhaps, but nothing bad about her wrestling ability."

[7.0] "Penelope is very exciting to watch because she always Goes For It. Her work may not be the most crisp, but each match she's trying out new things and always improving. Her agility and high-flying moves add to any match, whether she's competing or, as shown recently at All In, on the outside."

[7.0] "I've been enjoying her recent work with CZW, first as the highly-athletic-but-overmatched face in both singles and intergender matches, now as the self-proclaimed "Bad Girl". Sure, her gimmicks aren't unique, but she's got the charisma and mic skills to get something out of it. Really like her moveset (original), but she misses her spots sometimes, and her punches are WAY too weak. Needs to work on that, or strike only with kicks."

[7.0] "So fucking hot. But im not sure if she is serious about the business. Is a rookie but flakes on shows and doesnt seem to be improving in the ring. Would make a great jobber, but if she is passionate about wrestling could really be a star."

[4.0] "Bringing this focus back to the wrestling, and with more eloquence than the previous rating and comment, I'll briefly touch on one issue mentioned before and say I find nothing wrong with the ring attire worn. It's more conservative than what's been worn by women in recent years. That said, I'll discuss Ford's abilities and overall standing in this point of her career. I give a 4 for skill and experience level at this point as two years thus far still qualify her as a rookie. She's willing to work wherever and in whatever, putting on her best effort possible. By what was said in the first comment referring to "doing so much more in the ring" I would agree it would be refreshing to see Ford gain more wins than losses. Because of her willingness to endure the string of losses in her rookie years at this point it may go a long ways towards her improving her standing in future bookings where she may start receiving a winning push in her matches. Good size and degree of athleticism. Impressed with efforts shown in technical wrestling. Can only improve as time goes on."

[4.0] "Penelope is a very athletic athlete but I do not get the hype behind her. I think it is because she wears wrestling gear that is too small and shows some places, and we all know we have a bunch of wrestling pervs. I wish she could so much more in the ring."
