At first I attributed this to others shining him up but it's been such a through line of his career over the last couple years that it's high time I admit he's more than holding up his end of the bargain."

Dont have a lot to say about Boltin just yet but this is a guy you 100% wanna keep an eye on in the next few years."

His trilogy with Takeshita was downright awesome and his matches against Taichi, Yuya, Oiwa and Finlay were good. I'm Glad he was able to win the Never Openweight title and I'm excited for his future."

Animago wrote on 23.04.2025:
[8.0] "There is a soothing simplicity in the way Oleg Boltin wrestle. He picks up big grown men, rock them around, throw them around. And he looks like a good boy too, the kind of person who would pick up groceries for the elderly and help you move furniture. He has grown into a solid performer, no-nonsense performer who is naturally dominant due to his size and power but can organically get the crowd behind him when he faces more experienced opponents. And he is barely strachching the surface of his potential, he will undoubtly grow further into a great asset for NJPW."

[6.0] "I honestly find Oleg a little green. Yes, he alongside Kosei Fujita are the two Young Lions who completely skipped excursion and went straight to the main roster, however Oleg's already gotten a distinguished amateur wrestling career, unlike Fujita. Yet, despite already having the physical body, the reputation, and two signature moves (the Boltin Shake & the Verdict), I think he will struggle to connect with audiences for a while because he looks too babyface and he is not comfortable with cutting promos. He is basically a new version of Hikuleo. I do hope that he gets the edge and ferocity that he needs one way or another to become that monster everyone in New Japan will fear."

[7.0] "Super short career so far, I'm pretty sure this rating will be edited a lot, but Boltin is awesome, he's big and imposing, and look dangerous all the time, I love the unorthodox and clumsy style that he has, it makes his matches unpredictable, I'm very excited to watch this guy develop, he's already a perfect crowd-pleaser."

[8.0] "Boltin Oleg, despite being less than two years into full time wrestling, is absurd. Perhaps not the best at things like selling, or expressing emotions, but there's a lot of depth in his wrestling skills. He's helped along massively by already being an athlete within the world of grappling. NJPW hasn't nailed presentation for a new star this well in a while, and he feels almost entirely different than the rest of the roster, even in the G1 Climax (which he is competing in less than two years on from his first match, I can't stress enough how absurd that is) he manages to stand out as a bit of an attraction already. Massive potential, and seems to get better with every single match. Keep your eye on him."

[7.0] "Oleg Boltin is a tremendous prospect and I haven't been excited about a talent like this since Takuya Nomura several years ago. His new look with the snow leopard hat and the light blue/yellow gear really complements him too. Despite his muscular build and size, he can still garner babyface sympathy. He combines a bit of technical skill with his power moves, which gives a nice variety to how he approaches things in the ring. The sky is the limit for him and I hope NJPW does not drop the ball."

[7.0] "Oleg is greener than grass at the tine of writing, but man is his upside so clear and obvious. Aside from Oiwa i think Boltin Oleg has the highest upside of this current Noge class. Already fluent in the language because of his time with the NJPW amateur wrestling team, with the size on top of that too, there's no reason why they shouldnt be pushing him to the moon when his time comes. The TV title shot against Zack in a matter of days is only the beginning, the biggest spot for a Young Lion in recent memory - clearing even Kosei Fujita's joining of TMDK before going on excursion. The future is extremely bright."

[9.0] "I'm gonna go straight to the point. He does stand out even more than the others! Oleg has a long wrestling career since amateur circuits, can speak perfect japanese, can move, has a beast physique, and now, he's on his way to his first title shot against the TV Champion after winning a gauntlet contest among his peers. Boltin is the perfect young lion, and that is why I'm giving him a straight 9, that soon can turn into a 10! Nagata san is a genius for conceiving us this machine."

[7.0] "As with most Young Lions, it's gonna take a while until you can truly assess their talent, but just from the handful of appearances Oleg has had he is incredibly promising. If New Japan doesn't fuck this up, which is asking a lot, they have the next Gary Albright on their hands. Excited to see him grow as he gets more experience"

[4.0] "Is a young lion so there Is could be no-sense valueting him now but anyway he is too generic, his move-set is too normal and how he does thing and taunts in the ring Is too normal. He doesn't pisse me up like Leube and he could have a great future but NJPW has to don't screw up him because it's very near to do that. **1/4"

[7.0] "Already just from the little bit Ive seen of Oleg Boltin Im very impressed. Kazakhstan and other former Soviet countries especially in Central or Eastern Asia are known for producing many good wrestlers and Oleg is no different. Olegs freestyle background and having spent time in Japan already as a wrestler gives him a really good starting point whether it be in ring or being able to understand and speak a lot of Japanese. Even from his backstage promos it seems he has a decent amount of charisma. In New Japan he will be training under some great pro wrestlers not just under Yuji Nagata who trained him prior to his Wrestle Kingdom debut. Also great to see someone make the transition into professional wrestling from a country like Kazakhstan in which there isnt really a pro wrestling scene or many pro wrestlers from there especially in modern times. Hopefully he does well in NJPW and can tap into his wrestling background and maybe even help further a pro wrestling scene in Central Asia for the future!"
