"He was somewhat ahead of his time with his move set as Max Moon however it was almost as if he wasn't 100% sure how to portray himself nor 100% sure how to smoothly execute his move set. Unique character but half baked, likely because it was a gimmick abandoned by Konnan and then grabbed up by Paul Diamond."

I do like his work as Kato and I also do like him wrestling as himself. His physique is also impressive. This guy was a like a heel Jerry Allen in the WWF."

[7.0] "I really enjoyed The Badd Company team, they were one of the only legitimately good things about the AWA during that time frame. When Kato arrived as the new member of The Orient Express, I assumed it was him. Truly awesome stuff with The Rockers, but can we really say anything more about the team? He seemed to be relegated to enhancement talent rather quickly, a shame really. But there was something about him that I always realized was off. He couldn't be a babyface. He *looked* like a babyface, he even had the voice of a babyface - but he couldn't *work* like a babyface. I think that really hurt him because his portrayal of Max Moon just never clicked. All of his stuff is mildly recommended (solid, smooth, watchable) even if none of it went anywhere. 6.5 rounded up."

"A criminally underrated performer from an in-ring perspective, whose career had many parallels and intersections with that of one Shawn Michaels (Boric and Hickenbottom were rivals and formed the tag team "American Breed" down in Texas, they feuded in the AWA as part of Badd Company and the Midnight Rockers respectively, continued that tag feud in the WWF as The Oriental Express and the Rockers when Boric came in as the masked Kato to replace Akio Sato, with the two battling in the singles main event of the inaugural Monday Night Raw with Boric now accepting the mantle of Max Moon... That's when's Diamond's career fizzled and Michael's hit the stratosphere.) Competent promo, decent charisma, good look and build, but truly excelled between the ropes. At 6'2" 240 lbs., was considered a smaller wrestler when he joined the fed in the early 1990's, but would be considered a large competitor by contemporary standards. Diamond had great speed, arial offense, and tandem moves, and was a decent mat wrestler and brawler. He never got a chance to really demonstrate his character work in the WWF, but was one of the few wrestlers (along with his partner, Pat Tanaka, ) who could keep pace with Michaels and Jannetty during their tenure as the Rockers. He likely could have at least made a decent career for himself in the federation in the mid 1990's as they seemed to want to keep him around, being given the Komet Kid / Max Moon (from a departing Konan) gimmick following the culmination of Orient Express's run, and was even used unmasked as enhancement talent. Unfortunately, his extracurricular activities seemed to derail his WWF career. He bounced around the Indies and with pit stops in WCW and ECW for the remainder of his career, sadly in my opinion, never coming close to achieving his full potential. I can't stress that enough really... as again, he was capable of going toe to toe with Shawn Michaels during the early 1990's, which is something that one can't say about two many wrestlers back then. That alone should have at least guaranteed him a mid-card spot in one of the major promotions, even if he were mute and incapable of talking whatsoever. Couple that with the fact that he actually was at least competent on the mic, AND had a better physique than Shawn, he should have had a more fruitful career than he did."

[4.0] "Paul was not a top-level wrestler and mostly performed as a jobber. He is best known as a member of the second line-up of Orient Express and Max Moon/Komet Kid. And he was quite an athletic guy in good shape, able to show a good match with the right opponent at the beginning/middle of the show, but nothing more."

[5.0] "A solid journeyman, Diamond was never destined for singles stardom, but he was a solid enough talent that could help fill out the tag team or lower-card tag team ranks of any promotion, or be used to help put over other stars. His best work no doubt comes from his longtime tag team association with Pat Tanaka, collectively known as Badd Company in AWA and ECW and the Orient Express in the WWF, although he was also notably the second and longer-serving wrestler to portray Max Moon in the WWF after the gimmick was vacated by Konnan (it's said that Diamond was given the gimmick simply because the costume happened to fit him)."

[3.0] "He had nothing no mic skills, no ring skills just nothing. All of his success was with Pat Tanaka in AWA. He even teamed with Shawn Michaels, no success there. When he was in WWF he was the masked Kato which did not go anywhere. He mainly jobbed under his name. Max Moon gimmick was horrible. WCW as Hatio dreadful. What kept him in his career being a jobber which he has worked very hard for."
