[7.0] "Really good preliminary wrestler. Did a lot of high spots and mixed in a few power moves as well. Was good at getting the crowd hot. Despite his preliminary status he was very important to the promotions presentation in the late 80's. He was a fixture on television. Was also a fixture in Memphis. Never got a big push in the WWF but he could've been credible as a tag champion with Owen Hart or as the IC belt as a singles guy. He had a rep for being a good fighter in some backstage confrontations but an altercation at a hotel with a road agent hurt his career a little."

[2.0] "He's remembered for three things: brutalizing a jobber for unknown public reasons, carrying a bird to the ring, and wearing checkered parachute pants with Owen Hart. That's it. He was never in a feud or a match that had high quality enough to study or watch again. He was pretty athletic but that's really it. They should have a separate "wing" in the non existent hall of fame building for him and Stacy Keibler, Sharmell, and Michelle McCool."

[3.0] "It was his entrance to the WWF that started making me doubt how authentic wrestling really was. The character was a buffoon. The "Birman" character had no place being in a business based on fighting. It was silly and ridiculous. His promos were annoying as well mainly due to the annoying tone of his voice. Even his moves in the ring were often unprofessional and often failed. Then, he'd pass it off with that annoying bird move he'd do with his arms. The only reason I don't rate him a 1 is because he did move in the ring."

[7.0] "Many people question as to why he is in the hall of fame, since he wasn't ever really a top guy and to people outside of the Golden Era don't really see him and think one of the greats. The thing is though, if you actually look him up, he was honestly pretty good, just was working during a time where someone like him didn't really belong in terms of his style of wrestling (gimmick wise oh he definitely fit). Charisma wise he was fucking excellent, he was a good worker, and most importantly, Frankie is one of the best birds in professional wrestling. But I think what got him in the hall of fame is Piledriver. Dude, he's quite literally the highlight of The Wrestling Album II, because he sang his fucking heart out."

[8.0] "*sings in a gravely soulful tone* "OoAoAoH YeAeAeaH! " Koko B Ware was a joy in the 80's when a babyface. Be he part of the Pretty Young Thangs with Norvell Austin (who was the polar opposite of "pretty") or the WWF's crooning & colorful "Birdman". As a heel he had little to no credibility and was never underhanded enough to be conceived as a threat. Dynamite in the ring and chemistry with plenty. Behind the mic, few were as comfortable as Koko. I enjoyed his pairing with Owen Hart, be it "Blue Blazer" era or High Energy. I don't think I like much of what he did in Memphis though. Awesome dropkick, watch his UWF material and be wowed. Gonna circle back to the PYT's, who did great in Mid South, but only so-so in World Class. Under rated because he was slipped into Vince's Hall of Fame and many feel he didn't deserve it (it's VINCE'S Hall of Fame, not mine nor yours). Quite watchable, except when a heel as he's too innoxious. Also, the High Energy era look was deeply regrettable. EDIT: The more I watch, the more I appreciate. His Brainbuster was/is top tier. His Missile Dropkick could be devastating. As noted, he had chemistry with many such as Rick Rude, Don Muraco, The One Man Gang/Akeem and super heavyweights in general. Looked fantastic in blue & yellow but I simply appreciate his commitment overall to a colorful character. Underrated like all kinds of heck and I could keep singing praises about his babyface work...( like the fact that he didn't phone it in at house shows) 7.75"

Sadly his parrot Frankie, who should also be in the HoF (they put the Bellas in IDK why they can't put in a parrot), passed on in a house fire in 2001 :'("

MattHall wrote on 18.08.2023:
[7.0] "Had some nice athletic spots in the ring, and had an amazing dropkick. I don't believe that he was Hall Of Fame noteworthy, but he wasn't terrible either. It was sad when Frankie passed away in a fire back in 2001. Had good charisma, never heard his mic work, but severely lacked in height,"

sbg2022 wrote on 28.08.2022:
[6.0] "He was great in Memphis. But as is the case with any 80's talent that goes to the WWF from another promotion, they're relegated to the "WWF Machine" with an over-the-top and often cheesy gimmick. So, his gimmick as the "Bird Man" put a stamp on his career as a "gimmick" wrestler. Not taking away from his in-ring abilities."

krukster wrote on 17.04.2022:
[6.0] "He was good, but not a Hall of Famer by any stretch. Matches were always solid and did have some pretty big during his time in the WWF. His Ghost Buster was an incredible finishing maneuver. Was a mid-carder that was believable. Could have been a above average tag team specialist, but was rarely used this way. (except intially with Owen Hart)"

Koko had a good amount of charisma, but he was most known for having a bird with him. Had it not been for Frankie, I'm not sure anyone would remember Koko. That said, every company needs some job guys, so having one who kids like (even just because he has a pet with him) is a good thing."

JEK 1991 wrote on 27.11.2018:
[6.0] "He is the Cat's Meow for entertaining fans since the 80's. Bringing in his macaw, Frankie was exciting. As a wrestler he was no that great and could only do two moves. What impressed me was his high flying moves. He was a pioneer at it. Also he was one of the first wrestlers to dance to their ring entrance music. Flapping like a bird. He was small back in the day were there were no crusierweights and became stocky to look big. Sad that Frankie died in a fire. Koko is remembered for his work in Tennessee, USWA and WWF. What I give him credit for is that he was a great jobber. He is still wrestling and entertaining fans."

I reckon he'd have a better chance if he was a mid to late 90s guy but back in 80s, especially the early 80s, a man of his size was doomed to be nothing but a jobber novelty. I guess I should give him credit for being entertaining at least, but hes insanely forgettable."
AriesMark wrote on 29.11.2016:
[7.0] "Koko B. Ware was an extremely underrated talent, however he was much better off as a tag team worker (like he was in the territories) than as a singles guy . His run as part of the Pretty Young Things with Norvell Austin was a work of art. He also had a decent run teaming with Bobby Eaton under the name Sweet Brown Sugar as well."
DanTalksRasslin wrote on 22.06.2015:
[6.0] "The Birdman had a fun look and gimmick for an undercard WWF wrestler of the '80s, and had a solid speed- and aerial-based offense, which was enough to stand out from the powerhouses that filled the WWF's ranks during that time. He also had a pretty good tag team run with Owen Hart as High Energy in the early '90s, funny outfits aside. It's rather unfortunate that his Hall of Fame induction has become a measuring stick in a negative way - "if Koko can be in the Hall of Fame, why can't ____? " - because he was a good talent."
