KENSO

[1.0] "He is really, really bad at wrestling. Every time I see him wrestle, from the 2000s to now, I feel like he's just roughing up his opponent. And not even like he's working stiff or intending to look rough. It looks like he actually has no clue as to how he should be grabbing someone's neck on suplexes, etc. He's bad, and his wife who is is manager, was way more over than he ever hoped to be in his days in WWE. Now, he's just a space filler in matches that are duds and stinkers. Just look at his history."

[2.0] "When a wrestler like Koji Kitao manages to stand out more than you do, you are a sad excuse of a wrestler. Super Rookie? Give me a break! Otani and Kanemoto were super rookies! Fujinami and Tsuruta were super rookies! Liger, Iizuka and Naoki Sano were super rookies! Kenzo got to debut on the Tokyo Dome against Nakanishi, a main eventer at the time, where he at least showed decent skills! Then fast forward to April at the Young Lions Cup final, he was this close of breaking Togi Makabe's neck because he botched an argentine suplex. When he "graduated", they tried to give him a hip-hop-ish theme song, a partner in Hiroshi Tanahashi, a colorful attire, all to cover up his stupid and bland personality in the ring. Then suddenly he leaves with Choshu to WJ, where he was in charge of the dojo. Sadly, while training former MMA fighter Takayuki "Giant Ochiai" Okada, this latter collapsed and died of a brain damage, because Kenzo failed to recognize this sooner. I noted this because it was an accident this time, not a straight up murder like Kensuke and Gompei in 1995, so he knew right away his chances in his own country were over. Blackballed from Japan because Choshu likes to save his own face instead of giving support, he went to TNA, WWE and Mexico to try and restart, but you can't try or restart again to be something that you've never been, and sadly, Kenzo has never been good. I rated him 2 because he and Rene were funny as hell as tag champs, but that's on Rene, not Kenzo."

[5.0] "Kenzo Suzuki was around during the era of WWE that I grew up with, and I never liked the gimmick they gave him. He was just another comedy jobber that you could barely take seriously, along the likes of Funaki and somewhat Tajiri, who was a bit above him in skill. Unfortunately, it would take WWE another decade or so to actually start treating Japanese wrestlers like serious competitors. Kenzo and his valet Hiroko both could have been used better."

[3.0] "Kenzo run in WWE was very poor as was the little I have seen of him before and after WWE. Before WWE he was with World Japan where his run ended when a man died while training with him, no clue what happened with that. WWE run showed very little charisma and in ring abilities. Worked all over afterwards but never noticed much improvement."

[4.0] "Kenzo was like Tajiri with less talent. Just another body in the midcard of the mid 2000's SmackDown! roster."

[2.0] "Kenzo Suzuki was a really bad wrestler, in that his matches were extremely poorly paced and he was also very sloppy in the ring. At least they had second thoughts when they considered bringing him to Raw to have a title feud with Benoit..."

[6.0] "Kenzo Suszuki has (or at least had) a great look and a lot of charisma. He is not an all-time great worker, but there are far, far worse that come to mind and he could be pretty good in the right match with the right opponent(s)."

[3.0] "Kenzo was an ok midcard guy who always seemed like an underachiver. Kenzo was a good athlete who had a decent look and some charisma but in the ring he never had that extra gear or skill set to really stand out. Unlike Tomohiro Ishii who manage to use his time in Riki Choshus disastorious World Japan promotion as a launchpad for his career Suzuki just went out there and had mostly medicore performances at or near the top of the card. He was a much better fit in the WWE and Hustle where the expectations were lower for in ring work and he could show off a goofier side of his personality. His rating on this site is probably too low, Kenzo isnt a bottom tier worker by any means, just a midcard guy who can entertain and can fill out a card."

[5.0] "All I recall of the guy is that he had a match that stunk so fucking bad that his opponent had to come out after the fact and apologise for how bad it was to the crowd. That other guy's name, for the record, was Suwama....how you get something so terrible out of a top ace that could carry god damn YOSHITATSU to a decent match while in his mid-40's is beyond me, and a true testament to how bad this guy was when anywhere near something important. He's perfectly fine when in multi-tags and whatnot but Jesus Christ keep him away from high expectations at all costs, he's a complete goofball in the ring. I can get why people would try to push him, but he's not even in the standards of "nowhere near a main event threat but perfectly capable of being carried" he's just bad in general when it comes to that. There's a charm in his antics when he's allowed to let his hair down but....no, just no."

[9.0] "Kensos rating is bad because of WWE fans, who are rating only his WWE run and it is stupid. This is big problem on this site. People should look a bigger picture and actually start rating wrestlers based on their whole career. If you don't are familar on wrestlers whole career, then don't rate him. But now back to Kenso. I love his work on AAA, AJPW, CMLL and NJPW runs. His WWE run was okay, but WWE never understand how good he actually was. Guy has one of best lariats of game. His kicks are amazing. Can do many moves that guy on his size not supposed to do. He is charismatic af. And last but not least when somebody is using Tokyo Drift as theme song, you know that guy is badass."

[8.0] "I feel like if Kenso never went to WWE his rating wouldn't be so bad. I like guys who can throw heavy lariats and kick really high so Kenso fills that quota quite greatly. Kenso has proven that he can go over these years and is criminally underrated."

[6.0] "Mountains of charisma, high effort and willingness to do dives and bumps guys his size wouldn't carried KENSO matches pretty far into fun territory where he would stand out. At times seriously overpushed, but still finding a way to not totally suck in high-level environments despite his severe limitations for the aforementioned reasons. Easy to work with, more than serviceable in goofy undercard angles where he fit best."

[9.0] "There is a lot to say about the man they call KENSO. Seeing him in the WWE was the worst thing about his entire career. He wasn't very good at anything he did. I won't really if it was him or the company but at the end of the day he sucked. Fast forward to now I see him putting on good matches and they are very funny. I would recommend watching one of his matches in Dramatic Dream Team. But since he did do terrible job in WWE I have to give him a 9."

[8.0] "All are rating him for his 2 year reign with WWE.... I think all should have to watch his AJPW run and his CMLL run... He was really good there and also his NJPW run in his early years are good.... Underrated."

[4.0] "Never a natural in-ring, KENSO was consistently one of the most over acts in All Japan from '11-'14. He's also, for a guy his size, more willing to bump about than most similarly built Japanese wrestlers. Most often his matches are acceptable."
