[8.0] "Wrestling is entertainment, and Hendry can be very entertaining. He can sing, cut promo's, and has a fun moveset and can have a very good, American heavyweight style wrestling match. The sky is the limit for this guy if they just let him be his creative self, his parody songs could push him to the top of WWE if he's given a chance"

[7.0] "Joe Hendry outclasses many character centric wrestlers in-ring, & while his ring work will never breach a certain threshold probably, it is just fine for what it is. His character work is love it or hate it, & fortunately for me, I find his character to be very funny & unique to only Hendry. I think that he has successfully crafted what we be a great career for himself via this original character. I'm curious what rung retirement will look like for Hendry; Hendry would certainly make a great on screen manager, ALA William Regal."

[6.0] "This guy is kinda difficult to rate in a weird way for me. He's over, he's funny, and his theme is actually enjoyable. I do like Joe Henry, but, in the ring, is a whole different story. Not saying he's trash or anything, he's just alright in the ring"

[5.0] "Unfortunately his bland and basic in ring work will what be that prevents him from being liked by me. He's very charismatic and his promos can be good but that's about it. I hope he does improve in NXT."

[5.0] "10 for gimmick, charisma, and theme song. 4 for in ring skill and look. He's a master of self promotion which is a compliment. It worked very well for him and led to his huge pop at WM 41 which I no doubt believe that's the moment WWE knew they were going to sign him. He's only ok in the ring but ultimately I think he'll be ok."

[2.0] "Although he is very good at marketing himself, his old-fashioned and unoriginal humorous image from the past does not mean that he is much stronger than Jey Uso. It reminds me of those old wrestlers from the 1980s and 1990s who would muddle through a match using only a few moves."

[1.0] "Don't get the hype even a little bit. Seeing him and Jeff Hardy sing play Creed songs is what sent me over the edge, TBH. His own parody material is not clever or original in the slightest, though his theme is admittedly kind of catchy. He is basically a meme that doesn't excel at anything in-ring, and he looks like a generic CAW. My favorite JH moment was him being squashed on the biggest stage in professional wrestling."

[7.0] "He is only a gimmick, and really not all to much more than a gimmick, but dammit he is a phenomenal gimmick!"

[4.0] "Average worker but gets over mostly because he's a comedy character and knows how to sell himself well with crowds and more gimmicky American style pro wrestling fans. I just don't really see the appeal other than the whole theme and video. He doesn't standout looks wise and in-ring. He's very vanilla, but he manages to do a great job of getting the crowd behind him."

[7.0] "He's a very smart guy, astounding at self marketing, who's extracted the optimum out of his career. In terms of in ring ability, essentially he's an above average powerhouse with a limited moveset, albeit an extremely charismatic one. Find his style a little plodding and struggling to recall many Hendry matches I've enjoyed. Weakest part of his game is actual wrestling, everything else is top drawer."

[3.0] "I've never understood the hype surrounding Joe Hendry, his gimmick and his use reflects everything I dislike about wrestling. He's just riding on pseudo-hype, his entrance and use are just lazy, and for the part that interests me the most, which is the in ring, I find him deeply boring. I just think it's gonna be interesting to see him actually Wrestle and not use that gimmick, it's just so annoying."

[7.0] "He's done really well to get himself over, and his song parodies are genuinely funny (less so, in recent years). I think his in-ring work is okay, and he usually doesn't feel as genuine when he's trying to be angry. I actually think he's gone a bit backwards since the TNA World Championship win. He does a lot more of his silly pose, presumably playing it up for the WWE crowd who love it. It seems like the bookers didn't really know how to handle his title reign, outside of the Trick feud, either."

[9.0] "The guy can go. Strong, technical, and always entertaining, he's like if a powerlifter studied improv comedy. His finisher hits hard, and his humor hits harder. Bonus points for committing 100% to every ridiculous gimmick idea like it was Shakespeare at the Globe."

[9.0] "Self made buzz, quite possibly the most over Ive seen someone outside of main roster WWE in such a long time. Resonates with EVERY wrestling fan, casuals, diehards, the biggest marks on Earth... They all Believe in Joe Hendry. Salt of the Earth, someone I will stand behind til the end of his career."

[8.0] "SAY HIS NAME AND HE APPEARS! He is a freaking star in professional wrestling! If he permanently joins WWE (outside of the NXTNA partnership) I think he can have incredible matches and feuds in the Fed."

[8.0] "VERY OVER with the crowd and that matters so much! His promos are great and he is very charismatic! A very great entrance that gets the crowd hyped! The thing that lowers his ceiling and holds him back is his i'm ring work. He is a very bland performer that honestly has very boring matches. I wish his in ring work was a lot better but as of now he relys on being over."

[4.0] "He's got a lot of charisma and has great character work but his in-ring work is some of the blandest work in wrestling. He actually only has about 5 moves, but I can't deny that he has a great promo and is super over as an entertainer. overall he satisfies me just not by an in-ring standpoint."

[8.0] "I BELIEVE IN JOE HENDRY! This dude's a freaking star--TNA World Champ, stealing the show wherever he goes! Joe's got that unreal charisma, popping crowds just by tapping his foot, like at NXT when he had everyone dancing. His "I Believe" song? A banger that hit #1 on UK iTunes! He's faced legends like Randy Orton at WrestleMania 41, stepping up last-minute and shining, even in a quick loss. Now he's set to defend his TNA title against Trick Williams at NXT Battleground. Joe's no fluke--his promos, his chokeslams, his vibe scream main-event energy. X fans are buzzing, calling him the future of wrestling. He's got that Seth Rollins grit, always ready to face the top guy. Joe Hendry's undeniable, and I'm all in for his rise."

[9.0] "Gimmick and Promo Skills are electric and no one can take away the immense pop he always gets. Seems like the new "popular to hate" victim of the year, but his wrestling ability is severely underrated. He is not on the highest of highest tier of others, but the way he can work the crowd during a match fills in the gaps easily. He is getting eyes on TNA and love him or hate him, he is always a top pop of the night. While his gimmick will always be what is focused on, he has had quite a few stellar matches under his belt that need to get more attention."

[7.0] "He has been riding a huge wave of popularity for about a year now, which has not only taken him to the TNA Title, but it has also gained him a handful of WWE appearances while still not being an actual member of the WWE roster. I am on the Hendry bandwagon when it comes to finding him charming. His hurdle going forward will be to translate his current popularity into a longer, sustained run. Even though I think his current schtick is entertaining, I also question how long it can engage people before they get bored. The theme song, the "say his name & he appears"... that stuff doesn't have the longest shelf life before the cuteness dries up. The problem I have with Hendry at this point is that his in ring work is super basic. Also, he looks good enough in TNA, but when he was standing across the ring from Orton at WrestleMania a couple of weeks ago, he looked way out of Randy's league."

[9.0] "SAY HIS NAME AND HE APPERS. I love him, he has put TNA in the radar after so many years in a way that maybe only AJ Styles, Samoa Joe and those guys did in the past. Tell me a single superstar from any promotion that manages to appear in a Royal Rumble and Wrestlemania without being in the WWE main roster and get the pop he gets, and I'll give you all my money. I BELIEVE IN JOE HENDRY"

[4.0] "He is kinda funny ngl, He's the first popular wrestler TNA has had in a while, however, his popularity has nothing to do with wrestling, his song made the Job for him. He is painful to watch in the ring, his in ring level is very low, and mediocre to be a world champion"

[3.0] "OMG please not this meme guy... please not Joe Hendry. He's one of "those guys, " probably the Jey Uso of TNA. People love him because he has a catchy song, a little step where he looks at the camera, and that's it. Once the bell rings, it's a different story. Generic and personality-less moveset, boring and zero charismatic matches. I don't understand his push other than the fact that people support him, but is that really reason enough to put him in WrestleMania and represent the biggest wrestling show today? It gives you something to think about."

[10.0] "Say his name and he appears, I believe in Joe Hendry! He is the reason I started watching TNA again. Good looks, great on the mic (literally a singer), a strong moveset. I believe in him. Will he move to WWE sometimes soon? I hope not, the guy's perfect where he is and WWE already called him lots of time since last year. I wished more wrestlers were like him, good looking face with a career defining identity and a great champion. Wave your hands from side to side and say : I BELIEVE IN JOE HENDRY!"

[4.0] "I can't stand this guy anymore.. to pass his starlet behavior behind the scenes in certain small independent structures I think that we make too much of it. First of all he is not good in a ring, it's average nothing incredible but above all the problem is his character. The joke is funny ok but it's funny 1 month, we understood ok but we can move on because there it's good especially when the guy spends his time being the biggest force on earth on social networks."

[6.0] "Joe Hendry is such a unique character. He brings comedy and takes it to a musical level. He isn't the biggest or strongest but his genuine love of the business can be seen in everything he does. It was only a matter of time until a major company picked him up. I really believe that Hendry will end up having a more regular role in WWE in the next couple of years before he gets too old. He isn't the most compelling in ring competitor and is more of a gimmick than a quality in ring wrestler, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing."

[7.0] "Combining charisma, creativity, and legitimate in-ring skill, he's carved out a niche that few can replicate. Hendry brings a level of personality and showmanship that instantly grabs attention. But beneath the humour and catchy tunes lies a serious wrestler with a strong amateur background and decent (if unremarkable) technical ability."

"Ever since his days in WCPW, Joe Hendry has been able to have the crowd eating out of the palm of his hand. His current gimmick is fantastic as a face but can so easily be tweaked for a smarmy heel run when the time comes."

A journeyman who step by step made a name for himself and still maintains a freshness in his character... a smart worker who doesn't need to risk his physical integrity to be over with the crowd. If Hendry left us today, he already has a career worthy of study... I BELIVE IN JOE HENDRY (CLAP CLAP)"

[3.0] "Okay wrestler. Funny character, but gets old extremely quick, and he doesn't help that he's the biggest carny around, because he'll go on social media and try to shove himself into everything when he isn't needed, turning my indifference towards him into annoyance. Falls into the Jey Uso category of the "One Trick Pony". His special entrances back in the day were so good, wish he kept doing these instead of whatever he's doing now. He can stay in TNA for all I care, if they like his schtick good for them, just keep him away from any major company. Please."

[10.0] "SAY HIS NAME AND HE APPEARS I BELIEVE IN JOE HENDRY Joe Hendry is an icon and shouldn't be considered anything less. He got so over so quickly and became an icon, debuted in NXT then won the TNA World Title, then had one of the biggest pops at the Royal Rumble. He is a product of the WWE/TNA partnership and, frankly, is probably one of the best."

[9.0] "Hendry has always been a crowd favorite ever since his ICW days for me. Him, Grado, Jack Jester were my acceptance into wrestling, unlike John Cena, Jeff/Matt Hardy, etc (I'm american too! ). A great worker outside, gets his song stuck in your dam head (Say his name and, I'm not finishing the rest you know what is lmao). Joe is a great wrestler. We can't deny his Indy work was great, his first Impact run was confusing at best, then his ROH run was honestly decent, ruined by Covid, then his second run with TNA/Impact has been successful. Sadly, this is his PEAK, likely.. I feel like Hendry will continue to be big, but not as big as he was during the summer of this year. All in all, Hendry is a great performer outside with his entrance work, needs a bit more training in ring, and that this is his peak. I cannot WAIT to see what he does next in TNA/WWE, however. 8/10. Update- I had him at a 8, but his match with Nic and his royal rumble appearance (even getting Sheamus involved) was kinda cool, Bumped up to a 9."

[3.0] "I respect his work ethic and commitment to the grind, and I'm happy for him that he has finally found something that works for a crowd. However, he is just a good theme song. He is incredibly mediocre in the ring and has been for years. He is not a credible world champion in my eyes at all, as he doesn't have the versatility, presence or in ring acumen to carry a promotion on his back. He looked like a loser in the Rumble, which said a lot about how the WWE thinks of the promotion that crowned him champ, and the merits of his championship pedigree. I am happy for the guy that he's getting some success but he is bad."

[7.0] "I saw Hendry for the first time in 2015-ish because one of my internet friends was a superfan of him. I'm really glad he become somewhat of a phenomenon. Really good entertainer."

[6.0] "With Joe Hendry he is very charismatic great on the mic knows how to make an entrance, his in-ring work its really bad I can see him just be another LA Knight guy in WWE, he can get over and be successful in any other promotion. But I don't see him being some World Champion I think he is just a meme wrestler but we will have to see what's next for him."

[10.0] "Joe Hendry is super over at the minute he was made his was all the way from the bottom of the indies to the highest he has ever been in his career. Title matches getting to be given the chance to do cross over matches with NXT loads of charisma and really funny when he does his music video roasts on other talents knows how to work a crowd. TNA are slow burning his title win because when he finally wins it the payoff will be huge"

[7.0] "He's pretty good I suppose, but he seems to have trouble in TNA when all the chips are down. He still has yet to win a top-tier title when all he has to show in that company was the Digital Media Title, which is like the European Title of TNA. You hold it, but it isn't an elevation tool. He has an infectious theme and catchphrase, but after that, there isn't a lot else. I suppose it could be TNA favoritism towards WWE alumni, but maybe he just isn't seen as a top guy by the bookers. I can kinda understand, but am a bit confused at the same time. Maybe he lacks a killer instinct. there's 1 flaw, or he would be #1. But, I'm not seeing that fatal flaw."

[5.0] "Just not my cup of tea at all, an act that truly waned on me more and more as time went on, it was funny the first few times but by the 50th, the whole "say his name" shtick got old and I mean REALLY old to me, and his in-ring work is far from anything noteworthy, definitely not bad but one of the most "there" wrestlers of all time to me, the hype feels a little unwarranted but I'm glad some are able to find enjoyment out of his work, as I just don't really see it man... 5/10."

[8.0] "Hendry is the quintessential "and then the bell rings" type of wrestler. Whilst he's not particularly bad by any stretch of the imagination, he's not gonna turn too many heads through workrate alone. But that's fine, not every wrestler can, and Hendry recognises that. Which is why he gets a higher rating than your average wrestler in that category, because his gimmick work is spectacular and, despite it going on for over a decade now, still manages to get itself over to the point that, as a guest, he's genuinely more over than most of the resident talent in NXT. The problem is that with the increased exposure and pressure to be more palatable to corporate sensibilities, the meme might get run into the ground a little, as WWE is often wont to do. Still, Hendry is managing to navigate that minefield rather deftly, although it'll be a sad day when he'll be unable to do the song parodies any more."

[5.0] "As many people have already said, he's a great character. Funny, knows how to promote himself well and clearly knows how the business side of wrestling works. But man... I just don't really see the appeal other than the whole theme and video. He doesn't standout looks wise and in-ring. He's very vanilla, but he manages to do a great job of getting the crowd behind him. He's 36 as of writing, so I really don't see a world in which he improves as an actual wrestler. He'll go on to do some great things gimmick wise in WWE, but he's not putting on 5* or even 4* matches anytime soon, if ever."

[5.0] "Joe Hendry does a good job with his character work, he's naturally charismatic and creative with his promo work. When it comes to his in-ring ability he doesn't really standout, but is adequate overall. Can't see him moving past being a mid-carder when he goes up to the main roster, similar to LA Knight."

"A lot of charisma on Joe but he is just so-so in the ring. He is a funny guy and in my opinion one of the best CHARACTERS in modern-day TNA. He is just not good enough in the ring for above an 8"

[9.0] "Proof that you don't have to be a master in the ring to be a great wrestler and get massively over. Hendry is more than just his catchy theme song. He's not a Bret Hart or anything, but he's very solid in the ring and his fantastic charisma and character work more than makes up for that. It's clear that he's money considering he has had a big push on NXT, a show whose company he doesn't even work for (yet...). Every time his music hits, I sing along and do the claps and waves, it's a masterpiece of a theme song and everything about Hendry's aura just hooks the viewer in. Not much more to say other than... I believe in Joe Hendry."

[10.0] "My favourite wrestler right now. He might not be the best in the ring (which is surprising considering his gold medals in amateur wrestling), but he makes up for it in pure, unadulterated charisma. I love watching his custom entrances for his opponents - from his ICW days to his current IMPACT days. I think he's a solid upper midcard guy that, if he were in a company like WWE, he'd be in the LA Knight position - super over with the crowd with people saying that he should hold a championship. Hoping that he keeps going with IMPACT through the TNA revival in a few weeks and goes above and beyond where he is now - the lower midcard, occasionally going after the Digital Media championship. His tag team with Yuya Uemura was good, but it's clear which partner benefitted from their team now that Uemura is back in Japan, did well in the Tag League with Taichi and inserted into the faction with the world champion, already fighting Yota Tsuji at Wrestle Kingdom. What's Joe Hendry doing at this point in comparison to his former partner? Literally nothing. I hope he's on TV more often and gets to keep doing his gimmick with his parodies. There's a lot of untapped potential with him. EDIT: Updating this as of the end of June - Joe Hendry has become one of the most over wrestlers on the planet and I love it. Though he's spent most of the first half of the year in his nothing feud with First Class, he officially brought back the parodies with this feud, parodying AJ Styles' TNA theme and Higher by Creed. He became as big as he is from his own doing - promoting his theme song online to celebrate his birthday, and it lead to the song charting in the UK. But I think it really speaks to his character that he was still as over as he was in his NXT appearance. He wasn't even brought up in the Cody promo the week before and everyone still started chanting his name. And when he did show up, the pop was immense and really showed his popularity. Hopefully we will see Hendry win the TNA title at Slammiversary or at some point in the year. I will always believe in Joe Hendry. EDIT 2: It has only been 3 months since the last time I updated this but my lord. Although he didn't win the TNA title at Slammiversary or the NXT title at No Mercy, he sure as hell was the most over person in both of those matches. He should definitely win a championship before the end of the year. When you're the most over guy in a company you don't even officially work for, it really says something about how charismatic you are, and by god, Hendry is the most charismatic guy in the industry today."

[10.0] "He may not have the in-ring ability of a Bret Hart or Shawn Michaels, but what Joe Hendry lacks in the ring, he more than makes up for with his charisma and creativity. Every time Joe appears on my screen, I'm highly entertained and it seems I'm not the only one as there's a lot of people in the crowds and online, without hesitation, telling the world that they believe in Joe Hendry!"

[8.0] "People seem to try and find a reason to dislike this man, But he is a pure ball of charisma and likability. Sure he doesn't wrestle like an Ospreay a Gunther or a ZSJ, but he doesn't need to because he get's by on using the most basic moves like a rock or an austin. He doesn't need to do flashy manuvers he get's over on his Music videos and his singing and the ways he can mock his opponents. I will say he is obviously trying to just be a meme, but in modern wrestling who tf isn't yk? all I have to say now is I BELIEVE IN JOE HENDRY! AND HAVE BELIEVED since 2016."
