Brian Knobbs

[4.0] "Knobbs had a ok run as half of the nasty boys with Jerry Sags. Other than that, he had an abysmal singles run in WCW's horrible hardcore division."

[6.0] "Think Knobbs had a good role in the tag team division. I think he had some good tag matches with WWE and WCW when paired with good opponents. Good promo and he was a skilled brawler in the ring. TNA run was unnecessary and uneventful."

[3.0] "Giving him a 3 is probably me being pretty charitable. Below average worker with not much else going for him."

[4.0] "Never hated the Nasty Boys as many do. He fit in just fine for the early 90's and then his style fit fine in the hard core era, but not much beyond punch, kick, and hit people with stuff."

[6.0] "Out of him and Sags, he was the one with the loud, over the top personality. He was the one that could talk and cut a promo. He was somewhat more versatile with his character, but had a hard time finding success aside from the "nasty" character. He was known for his brawling/hardcore/ street fighter in ring style which was a hit or miss depending on the opponent."

[3.0] "The lessor half of the Nasty Boys. Started in the AWA as enhancement talent, soon getting higher profile jobs under a mask. Next thing yknow he's teaming with a former referee as "The Nasty Boys". Those early Nasty Boys matches were pretty good! Knobbs hadn't gained an absurd amount of weight yet and was able to work fantastically with The (Midnight) Rockers & The Steiner Brothers - See my review for the tag team of "The Nasty Boys" for more detail. Soon though, he became sloppier by the week and let the weight pile on - his work deteriorated rapidly. Post first WWF run is spotty ~ Post Nasty Boys is unwatchable. When the Nasties split due to Sags' health, Brian stuck around to be a reason to fast forward ...every. single. time. The good is rewatchable, the bad is unsalvageable."

[2.0] "What happens when you make the worst enhancement talent actual wrestlers. Knobbs was an atrocious plunder brawler and part of one of the worst tag teams that ever got a push. He gets a single point is his hilarious mullet and another single point for the boys awesome match with the Steiners in Halloween Havok."

[3.0] "He wasn't that good, but he could be funny in hardcore brawls. Not really 100% safe, but he made me laugh sometimes. When carried he could get to a sufficient match. Sadly those good moments happened only in WCW, where he gave his "best". In the WWF and TNA? Forget about it"

[2.0] "I never got behind Brian Knobbs as a wrestler or as a character, to be honest. H was pushed a reasonable amount, but he never made much of an impact on me."

[3.0] "Just like his long-term tag partner, he was barely passable as a brawler but had an atrocious gimmick."

[5.0] "As half of the Nasty Boys, Knobbs was a solid brawler and decent tag-division heel, and was at his best when teaming with Jerry Sags. While Sags' career was occasionally derailed by injuries, Knobbs had a bit more staying power in that he got a handful of singles shots over the years, though the only notable thing those really amounted to was a run in WCW's short-lived hardcore division."

[2.0] "Brian Knobbs was a sloppy, barely average worker, with a gimmick and persona that was an absolute embarrassment."

[2.0] "The nasty boys are one of the groups that make me embarrassed to be into wrestling. They are incredibly lowbrow. Knobbs was especially annoying. I've always had problems with wrestlers who need to emphasize every point and spell out everything. Knobbs was horrible for this. He talked down to the audience. I get that wrestling can be for children, but you don't need to make everything you say as incredibly obvious as a sesame street segment."
