[7.0] "Brian Johnson is a great wrestler at the base level, with nothing extremely attention grabbing to offer in ring, that being said, he is so average at wrestling that he can not put on a bad match. He may be the most average in-ring talent I have ever seen, BUT his mic skills make him a viable asset to any promotion. The man is extremely entertaining, knows how to get a crowd fired up as a face or heel, and can keep the crowd engaged throughout a match. His best work is done as part of a tag team, as his solo in-ring work is pretty bland, and he has bounced back and fourth between so many gimmicks over the years trying things out, still looking for something that sticks. By no means is he a bad wrestler, quite the opposite, he is very good. Where others may have some great moves and botch every once in a while, Brian Johnson may not have anything in his arsenal that will blow your mind, but you will nearly never see anything that is not at least on standard with the rest of the industry. His bland character can be a drawback in solo runs, however as a part of a tag-team or stable he is a wonderful asset, especially if he has the microphone."

[7.0] "At first I was not impressed with Brian Johnson at all but I have to admit that he has grown on me and become a highlight for current Ring of Honor. Johnson is wildly entertaining with how seriously he takes himself, especially when he is paired with the likes of Danhausen. It goes without saying in ROH that you are expected to be a technically sound worker, but as it stands ROH has a bunch of solid workers many of whom are lacking in personality so they will need talent like a Johnson who are clearly confident in their character. MECCA VERSUS EVERYBODY!"

"This dude is so funny in his promos. By the end he's just screaming at the camera, his face red as a tomato with veins bulging from his bald head, and a crescendo playing in the background. MECCA. VERSUS. EVERYBODY!"

[6.0] "Brian Johnson went from all around average to a really interesting, conniving scummy heel this year. Not the strongest, or the fastest, or the best technician (though to be fair, he's pretty solid in hat department), but he's the smartest heel and is willing to do absolutely everything he can to get a win. Everything about his wrestling is out of the 1989s classic heel playbook, and it works so well because no one really does it the way he does anymore. Wrestlers that pay tribute to the past adapt it to the modern indie style (the Revival awesomely being most notable), but Brian Johnson does it without feeling like a modern wrestler and it works so damn well."

[3.0] "Brian Johnson is a decent in-ring wrestler, but he is also boring in the ring and he is horrible on the mic as well. Not much personality and not very interesting. It makes me wonder how he made it to RoH with so many better wrestlers in the indies. He's not the worst in the ring, just boring and uninteresting. Just seems like any average guy I see at local shows, but with less personality. He really has nothing that stands out."
