[10.0] "I've seen a lot of Dragon Gate stuff and Akira Tozawa deserves a ten, in the ring he has one of the best German suplexes in all of wrestling and he wrestles with absurd precision."

[8.0] "Tozawa's one problem is that he's comedic fodder for virtually all the bigger stars on the roster. I think if given the chance, this guy could have an incredible rise to at least mid-card level."

[9.0] "Sneakily underrated. He is a really good wrestler subjected to the curse of being a foreign comedy character. It's a shame that WWE didn't do anything more than they already did with him."

[8.0] "It's sad to think that wwe fans only know Tozawa as just a jobber comedy act because man was he so good in Dragon Gate. For how stacked the roster was at that time Tozawa was able to stand as a great heel while also playing a vital role in three fantastic factions with Mad Blankey, Blood Warriors, and Monster Express. Even for his size he was still able to stack up with the heavyweights and had some amazing matches with guys like Shingo, Mochizuki, and BXB Hulk. I will always think of him fondly for this run but I also can't blame for probably being paid well by wwe while not having to kill his body."

[10.0] "One of the best wrestlers I've ever seen in the ring. He is a comedy act now(which he does extremely well at), but when you see him wrestle seriously, he is one of the best. I agree that his German suplex is one of, if not the best, in the world. Great arsenal, takes bumps well, can get the crowd invested. Promos aren't the best, but can do well enough with others around, to help or bounce off of. He does the comedy act so well, but I think because of how well he plays that role, people underestimate how good a wrestler he is."

[7.0] "One of the funniest characters in WWE after R-Truth became Ron Killings and started to cook. Akira should be bigger than this as cruiserweight ofc, but not in WWE, his max is being just a funny guy"

[5.0] "He's a fun character and was a decent Cruiserweight for 205 Live but I never found him to be great. His run in Main Roster started with a Ninja Gimmick which immediately failed. He's done a good enough job as a member of Alpha Academy as he's a pretty fun character to watch. He rarely has matches nowadays, which drags him down for me. Tozawa is decent."

[6.0] "To be fair I used to like watching Akira Tozawa on my TV screen but not anymore. He's just fallen off for no reason. His poor underwhelming performances in the ring are inexcusable for someone his experience. He's still fun to watch till this day though."

[6.0] "I Think Akira is a hell of an in ring performer, and works his character well, with that being said i think some fans overrate him a little bit hes not on the same level as an Aj Styles, Seth Rollins, Swerve Strickland, or Will ospreay but hes a couple point below them and his 205 live run was alot of fun but nothing special his japan run was really good but nothing top tier."

[7.0] "If we're rating his WWE career isn't a 2. If it's Dragon Gate it's probably an 8. I don't think averaging it out is fair because he was so good in his prime. I'm sure he's happy making money not killing his body so good on him."

Not that I, or anyone else, had any hope for him to maybe go up to the midcard, but any idea of that was shattered when he was replaced in the rumble for iShowSpeed..."

[5.0] "Tozawa truly shines as a comedic character, effortlessly weaving humor into his performances. While his in-ring skills are commendable, it's his knack for connecting with the audience that really sets him apart and boosts his current role. That said, I can't help but feel that he's somewhat underutilized, resembling a less famous version of R-Truth, primarily serving as a jobber comedy character."

[5.0] "A performer with noticeable wrestling skills. Sadly, his character work is pretty bad. The more time passes, the more clear it becomes he cannot be taken seriously. Whatever good his name held before, was killed by the fact he's more of a running joke that has been going for years now. An awful comic relief guy."

[8.0] "For me Tozawa is one of my favorite underrated wrestlers. I wish he could get more screen time but that's hard for him to do with the gimmick he has currently. He is always entertaining onscreen and is incredibly easy to root for as an underdog. all though I heavily doubt it would ever happen, I would love to see him get a fun random push sometime and have him really show the people what he's capable of. Though for now he's mostly stuck in his comedy role and he seems happy as is in his place in the company."

[8.0] "I get why he's staying in WWE but unfortunately some people don't know the real Akira Tozawa. He's a very good wrestler who could probably be a good midcarder in WWE, but he has his role and seems content with it."

[8.0] "Outside of everything, on his best day Akira Tozawa is one of the best cruiserweight guys that WWE has seen. When he is not doing the comedy shit that WWE has him doing nowadays, he is so good inside of those ropes."

[4.0] "Everything Tozawa does, R Truth does better, and since he was added to Alpha Academy it killed his career. The tag team of Otis and Gable was a fun style of comedy, but Maxxine and Akira also killed that team too. This isn't even mentioning His work with the 24/7 title, which to e was one of the worst eras of that belt other than Dana Brooke. His dance seemed to be nothing but an attempt to simulate the success of Garcia or Nana and failed miserably. His in ring work is ok, but I leave the room whenever he's on, meaning I can't give him any more than a 4 right now."

[6.0] "Tozawa had good work before he signed with WWE but haven't been the biggest fan of his WWE run. In the ring he is a good cruiserweight and high flyer. Outside the ring he does have the ability to make some comedy spots work as seen in his 24/7 title run. WWE have made him a punchline too much for me to care or take him seriously though."

[7.0] "Akira Tozawa is very funny and entertaining. They have him in the comedy lane similar to R-Truth and he excels there. His size limits him in the overall landscape, but he is good in the ring. I wish they would bring the cruiserweight division back on the main roster and do it correctly because I think he would shine there."

[6.0] "If he wrestled in Dragon Gate still this would be a 8, but he has been turned into a comedy goofball who isn't given the time to showcase his in-ring work in WWE so overall a 6."

It might be because he's small or a foreigner or he has a certain look they're not looking for but man this guy has it all in the ring and he definitely has charisma, he was the only guy on 205 Live to get a consistent reaction out of the crowd, and I'm sure you remember how dead those crowds were. I'm just saying, this man is too talented to be stuck in a comedy storyline, he could be the main roster Kushida we never got."

The phrase underutilized gets thrown around all the time for people who dont deserve it but that fits him perfectly right now. Free this man for the love of GOD"

[8.0] "Akira Tozawa is someone who you wouldn't know how good he is until you see his work from Japan and PWG. I haven't seen all his work from Dragon Gate, but from what I have seen he is absolutely tremendous. His PWG work is also awesome and features some top notch babyface performances from him. Excellent strikes, technical ability, creativity, and technique in the ring. He's a natural babyface who could easily get the crowd behind him. Since coming to WWE he's been a total disappointment. He was a highlight in the Cruiserweight division and on 205 Live but I rarely watched that show. I can't think of a single PPV match he's had because he was always on the kickoff shows. Since moving up to the main roster he's a jobber in a comedy gimmick running around for the 24/7 title. Good for him if he's happy in the role but it's just embarrassing to watch."

[7.0] "Akira Tozawa was a pretty good wrestler in Dragon Gate and had good stints in the CWC and PWG, but he's reached his ceiling in America with taking losses and getting paid. Can't blame him. The ninja gimmick is a poor choice, but hey, at least he's getting paid."

It's easy to forget because he's been saddled with horrific booking that he's a supremely talented cruiserweight. I can only hope that Tozawa leaves WWE at some point to find better success elsewhere."

[6.0] "I have rated Tozawa a 6 which = satisfactory despite the fact that his run as of late has been any thing but. The guy has stunning offense and selling. He could and should be at least a mid card star. But Tozawa finds himself at the pit of WWE. He gets all 6 points on his epic potential. Bu t if I was to judge it on his current run it would be a 0 or a 1. With a push this guy would be a great star. He needs to be utilized, we will have to wait and see if the authority have a change of heart. A small fish in a very big pond. Recognise him."

[5.0] "He? s good but even in 205 live he couldn? t stand out. He is fast but too small to be convincing In anything but the cruiser weight division. An adequate jobber is his potential"

[6.0] "He is talented in-ring performer, yes, but anything else of him is missing or just so boring. Well, you must say his "AAH" is great, but just for me it makes any sense, I don't like it at all."

[8.0] "Certainly someone who WWE is not currently getting the most out of. That said, having a respected enhancement talent is an important side of the business that is often overlooked. Working as a gatekeeper for the 205 crew can work for him if he is happy with that role. His in ring work is crisp & he is impactful. He doesn't have the charisma of someone the likes of Nakamura, but he is consistently fun to watch."

[9.0] "Akira Tozawa is a ball of energy that is always at a 10. Fast as hell and hard-hitting, he just oozes charisma. One major plus for him is the fact that he's been able to successfully adapt to the North American style of wrestling which has proven to be a death sentence for many other Japanese stars."

[7.0] "He's really fast and smooth and he's figured out the optimal way to make himself look as good as possible in matches. I say that last part specifically because he's got some noticeable weaknesses but he works around them really well."

One of my favourites from Dragon Gate (It counts if they are all your favourite right? ) I am hoping to see his feud with Hideo Itami go somewhere and am looking forward to a killer match or 2 from it."

[8.0] "Tozawa was severely underrated in his time in Dragon Gate. That wasn't all his fault as his contemporaries were higher on the totem poll, but Tozawa still knew how to bring it to the best. Not to mention he was a great leader for Mad Blankey and Monster Express. His time in WWE has been mediocre to say the least. He has had some decent character growth here and there, but has yet to have the chance to show off his full set of skills. He's still decently young, so hopefully he can have a break out match soon enough."

[9.0] "His work in Dragon Gate from what I've seen is fantastic and has always delivered so far. In WWE, he has had some very good matches. He is very charismatic, a highlight every week on a revitalized 205 show. He is often underappreciated by everyone and I hope 2018 allows Tozawa to shine much more."

[7.0] "In comparison to his 205 Live peeps, Tozawa is a natural entertainer. He can work a dead crowd, he's solidly entertaining and he's very good at emoting. He's not the most impressive wrestler -- he can be a bit predictable and not as spectacular as one might see given his size. But Tozawa has carved himself as a good hand in a very up and down 205 roster."
