[7.0] "Works well for just how big of a moment it is with representation from AEW, CMLL, & NJPW all in one match along with the Lucha Bros. teaming with Mistico one more time in the last days of their AEW run. It also rocks! Fun ass lucha with Fenix bumping and selling for Titan like he gets blasted by a fucking shotgun. The crowd was so into it too! Holy Shit chants just at Mistico and Lucha Bros. in the ring together again. Great way to cap off AEW's best pre-show event. ***1/2"
[8.0] "This was good as fuck. Everyone here except for Yota Tsuji was really entertaining. This to be quite honest deserve a spot in the main card, seeing how BAD it was MJF vs Hechicero, this really deserves it, not only for that, but also because end up being one of the best matches in the event. It's always good to see the LA MISTICA being applied. There's a rule pretty simple in the professional wrestling, put 4 luchadores (5 if you count KAMAITACHI lol) and you gonna see one of the most FUNNY matches you ever saw in your life. It's sad to see this and notice that the Lucha Bros are not here anymore...it was a huge pleasure to have both here, but now, good lucky in the new chapter of their lifes, they deserve to rule the fucking world."
[8.0] "[3.75*] This was actually one of the best matches on the whole card and maybe the best match on PPV pre-shows I can recall (Bryan vs Suzuki was on a Rampage buy-in, lmao). Just perfect lucha libre, LIJ played their heel roles with excellence and a team with Mistico, Fenix and Penta just could not go wrong. Absolutely loved this match and the whole action, it was a blast and deserving of a place on the main card. Special stuff."
[8.0] "This was a fantastic lucha match, with both teams getting good shines. The final stretch was a rush and chaotic, leading to some confusion but overall this was a lot of fun and I loved it. Great to see Tsuji in AEW for once."
[7.0] "Good 3-on-3 that belonged in the pre-show. A good way to get the fans ready for the main part of the Forbidden Door. The match didn't make much sense, but it was dynamic and introduced local fans to the talent of Yota Tsuji, who was making his AEW debut."
[7.0] "What a great match, fantastic stuff, the arena was already more filled here, as it was the last match of the zero hour, so very hot crowd, and they wanted to watch this match, which is the most important, they were popping for almost everything, this should've happened in the main card, the team of Mistico and Lucha Bros is a crazy combination, and they've worked pretty well with LIJ in this one, Hiromu carried the psychology in the match and even before the match, Titan showed all of his athleticism, and Tsuji his power, in a rare appearance in AEW for him. Ending stretch was crazy, this was one of the best matches of the entire night - {***1/2}"
[7.0] "The most anticipated match from the Zero Hour and, definitely, they did not disappoint. Los Ingobernables de Japon, as charismatic as they are, played a convincing heel role during the match, trying to unmask and humiliate Mistico. The Lucha Brothers accompanied Mistico, forming an unusual paring considering their affiliations with different companies, and showed great chemistry between them. Rey Fenix and Titan kicked off the match with amazingly fast sequences, followed by a nasty Yota Tsuji and Penta face off. Although I enjoy deeply Yota's work in the ring, he felt just a little bit out of place in some moments. Hiromu was amazing as the villain Mistico had to face during the match, with some disgusting moves. Mistico redeem himself, after the Takahashi's attack in his 20th anniversary, making his partner Titan tap out. This match delivered without question, an unlooked-for gift that comes straight from the concept of this event. Rating: 7.40 / 10. Stars: *** 3/4."
[8.0] "Kinda sad this match had to be on the pre-show with just how good it was, but aside from the Learning Tree match, the main card is pretty stacked. Anyways this was fantastic. Some of the best lucha talent in the world mixing it up with the incredibly fun LIJ members who played up their rudo roots a lot more than usual to great effect."
[8.0] "The kind of match that I never expected to watch (and why Forbidden Door is so special). All those six guys have great talent, and the match was incredible fun. (****)."
[9.0] "Super fun lucha themed match, I had a great time with this. Hiromu predictably fit in great with the luchadors and looked tremendous, Fenix was great, Titan was great, just really exciting stuff."
[8.0] "This 'll likely be the best Pre-Show match of the year. All the interactions were perfectly clean and every men found chemistry with each others; infact, every High Flying spot was on target and there wasn't even a single botch. The La Mistica that ended this thing seemed a bit rushed to don't go iff the time given but that's my only big complain. ****1/4"
[10.0] "Only Marks would complain about getting a perfect match for free, a perfect match that might help convince someone on the fence to buy this cool show. Perfect action from start to finish (any sequence between Fenix and Titan a particular highlight, singles match between those two please) and the rare dream match/team-up that lives up to the lofty heights."
[6.0] "It was a spotfest. It was fine for what it was. I've seen better in the Gringo Loco Weekly Spotfest multiple times. Mystico took an insano bump on the floor. Pentagon kind of tried. Fenix did his rope bouncing spots. I'm pretty tired of this match format."
[7.0] "****1/4 very good trios match, the 6 shined and set the bar high, they showed they deserved to be on the main card and not the third party fight of Jericho and company"
[5.0] "This was quite messy, to be honest. They tried to work the lucha style but it didn't feel organic at any point. Lots of waiting around and guys clearly getting into position to get a move. It's a shame because it should be a special moment considering everyone involved."
[9.0] "Loved. Loved. Loved. Just the immense importance of this match happening is really what the FD is all about. Yes Lucha Bros are contracted AEW guys but the lore of their history of wrestling in CMLL and then AAA allowed it to take a life of its own. Especially of those who were unaware of the whole LL situation. For the match itself it delivered for me. Titan stood out like a rising star. Mistico's aura always is unmatched. Hiromu looking crisp as usual was just fun and ramped up an already hyped match. Lucha Bros especially Fenix with his super kicks were freaking awesome. Tsuji was fine in this match but I had hoping he was going to be able to showcase his style. I think he should run it back with Penta. Titan though really went to work like he really wanted to show the world just what he is all about. Happy for all these guys. Post show Mistico told Penta he could find him at Arena Mexico...boom. Shook."
[8.0] "Fantastic match. Regularly expected from all six men of this caliber. Just nonstop action throughout and kept me on my toes. A great way to end the zero hour."
[9.0] "HISTORY! The Lucha Brothers showed up and did their thing per usual. I was very impressed with Mistico and Hiromu Takahashi as this was my first time seeing them wrestle in full."
[8.0] "This was a great match and should've been on the main card. It was obviously an exhibition match but these guys knocked it out of the park. The crowd was red-hot and the action was fast-paced and super entertaining filled with many great spots and sequences. Hiromu powerbombing Mistico on the floor was nasty and the ending was excellent. Lucha Bros looked as sharp as ever and Mistico just showed why he is CMLL's top guy. LFI were great too, especially Hiromu. 8/10 - 4*/5*"
[9.0] "This was really awesome! A match of this kind being given away for free is absolutely mind blowing to me! Hiromu stole the show with his crazy energy, and the Lucha Bros looked impeccable doing their tag team spots. Tsuji brought some of the attitude, Mistico is a legend, and Titan sold like a champ and brought one of the snuggest superkicks I've seen in some time. Whenever all 6 got in the ring, it was very exciting! It became slightly disjointed on occasion, but never enough to dampen my enjoyment. Really fast-paced, really high energy, really good stuff!"
[6.0] "A moves match. Everything was well executed and their was some cool stuff but really just a series of contrived spots. Not my style of match but good for what it was. Tsuji should be NJPWs next big star but was kind of just thrown in here as another guy."
[8.0] "There was no time to catch a break for each of these athletes as there was constant action and 12 minutes to wrestle for. Possibly one the best pre-show matches I've ever seen which isn't surprising to me"
[8.0] "Great showcase for all the non-AEW talent, with the Lucha Bros carrying the fan investment beyond the plentiful highspot-pops. Naturally it was heavy on the gysi turn-taking, but they nailed everything and kept it the right length for a pre-show pulse-racer ***3/4"
[8.0] "I mean I would have expected this to be great but you never know with the pre-show time allotment how it's gonna go, but yeah, this fucking rocked and delivered big time for me. One of the best matches of the night when it was all said and done. Mistico, Penta and Fenix are such an insane team I can't believe this wasn't actually on the show and built up as something of a featured match. Anyways, enough complaining it was great and if you missed it you should definitely check it out since it's free."
[8.0] "Nah, man an excellent match for the lucha bros, the match had very good spots It's what they expected, but is a match in a preshow, you know? . The match had a good time if they had more minutes o less the points we increase or decrease they stay in a good point, a good match but excellent for the zero hour, I don't go to talk about the other wrestlers because I don't see any match for they but I want to point out in two Titan and Hiromu Takahashi good wrestlers I like the things that they were doing in the match"
[10.0] "The match with the most "Forbidden Door" vibes, Penta, Fenix, and Mistico teaming is already beast on itsm's own, combine that with LIJ and you'll definetly get a good match. I like they still follow the Hiromu/Mistico match with Hiromu fanboying over Mistico, and Penta finally getting serious? , hell yea man. It had a good opener and nice pace throughout the match, some sick spots as expected from the men in the match, Tsuji fits well with luchadors despite his moveset, the finish was also good with Mistico getting the W."
[8.0] "This match represents everything that AEW is built on. The way that these different stars interacted was awesome and I loved the storylines that crossed over - particularly from CMLL to the AEW ring. Mistico looked amazing, Hiromu was moving at 1, 000, 000 miles per hour and I loved the way Tsuji conducted himself. I think that the Lucha Brothers look refreshed and their future contains some dates in CMLL. The highlights of the match were built around the sheer athleticism of the talent, and their desire to put on a show. Ending with La Mistica was also the perfect ending. Hope to see more of Tsuji in AEW, he's such a star already."
[7.0] "This was very fun, Mistico's hella over as he should be, and I really dug his Pentagon Style mask he had for his entrance. Although it was pretty funny Penta decided not to match and just do his Joker Penta gear. Also Alex Aberhantes was Robin, he was not brave enough to be Harley Quinn. L.I.J. didn't really wow me as much, except for Hiromu being a dickhead to Mistico that was great, I like seeing Hiromu just being an asshole. Yota Tsuji was there, didn't really do anything crazy. Titan was cool, he did some good high-flying. Even when Fenix barely does anything he still wows me. ***1/2"
[10.0] "Those who know me know how down bad I am for good LIJ matches and more specifically good Hiromu/Mistico matches. Inject me with this match every day of my life so that I may have a good mood every moment. Even with Tsuji at times just kinda...existing, man this was a fun chaotic ride. That Hiromu powerbomb off the apron and his reactions throughout that spot are peak Time Bomb. I will watch this match the same way I watch last year's LIJ match, with a cold one poured out in honor of Daryl. He would've loved Orange Cassidy. RIP Daryl Takahashi."
[8.0] "One of the best Pre Show matches in AEW history. This match presented what Forbidden Door should be as the team of Mistico and Lucha Bros is a dream team of its own, and they went against some of the best NJPW has to offer. The only downside to this match was that Tsuji didn't get to do a whole lot. Otherwise a fast paced excellent match. The crowd were super into the match and didn't die for a minute. Titan was the LIJ member that benefited the most from this match, even though he was the one to tap out in the end, he got really over with the AEW crowd. Awesome match.****"
[8.0] "This is AEW's best pre-show match since Riho vs Serena Deeb three years back. I was funny to see Mistico not get much of a reaction at his entrance or early in the match, only for fans to really get into him by the end. The fantastic opening sequence between Titan and Fenix set the pace for this bout. Mistico and Hiromu had some great interactions, the Lucha Brothers kicked ass, and we got a Mistica finish. The only significant downside was that Tsuji didn't get much of a chance to shine, as he didn't hit a lot of his bigger moves. ****"
[9.0] "What an awesome 6 man. Mistico is one of the coolest wrestlers in the world right now. Luchas brothers were on their game tonight. The Titan and Fenix sequences were the best part of the match for me. Titan is one of the most underrated luchadores in the world right now everytime I watch him he's balling out in the ring but always losing. Yota and Hirmou looked great as well. I like that Hirmou immediately went to rip Misticos mask to continue their bad blood. Overall great 6 man fully delivered for the historic team. Shoutout Rocky Romero for making this happen."
[8.0] "Rightfully main eventing the Zero Hour since it wasn't on the main show, Mistico & Lucha Bros tagging was a great moment on its own. I loved that Hiromu was fanboying out over Mistico throughout to the point he tried to steal the mask off his face. I felt like LIJ didn't really get to show off as much as they could've (besides the sunset flip to the floor from Hiromu that always pops me), but with Mistico and a motivated Lucha Bros I get it. Penta really put in the work here compared to most of his recent stuff and in turn that lead to some wild Fenix stuff. Super fun trios with the ideal finish of La Mistica. ***3/4"
