Not having Knight participate until the closing moments made this feel a lot longer than it actually lasted. Fortunately Cena sold the offense well, and Solo looked quite formidable despite the loss. Things finally got a lot more exciting once Knight became the legal man but it wasn't long before he picked up the victory to continue his career momentum."

Cena got beat down for a longgggggggg time until He finally made the hot tag to La knight and from here on out the match got good and exciting. Cena hitting a crossbody was pretty sweet lol and La knight came off like a star Ill give it 3.5/5"

Cena hit one extra move than his five moves of doom which was good. Nothing crazy, nothing particularly good, but we're getting Cena on a PPV so that's good. [***1/4]"

I was shocked that John was in there as long as he was, as I expected him to be the one with the hot tag; that strategy was proven correct when LA got by far the loudest reaction in the match for his section. Though the heat segments were dull at times, I do credit them for getting the crowd as involved as they did."

alonsoaguilurk wrote on 15.04.2024:
"Cena and Knight tagging together is a bad fit. Yes, "iconic" on a meta-level, but the match suffers from it given their work rates and even the match structure didn't favor them, being a glorified squash-until-the-hot-tag situation. Uso and Sikoa are serviceable, but don't bring a much needed extra gear for this to get going."
LIFEBEACH wrote on 14.01.2024:

Most of the match is just the bloodline pummeling Cena in the most boring of ways and didn't display anything that makes any of the 4 involved here great."
otoboke wrote on 02.01.2024:
[4.0] "Two of the most overrated soopastass team up against one of the Usos and the new guy with the mighty thumb. You could say it was somewhat interesting to see Cena take the place of Ziggler here, with Knight taking the place of Cena, but the same old tired HOT TAG storytelling was insanely routine and tiresome. Cena gets beat down for 10 minutes, then stuff happens for 30 seconds and the crowd bursts into "This is Awesome" on cue. It'd be laughable if it didn't put you to sleep first."

Frank Shooter wrote on 26.11.2023:
[6.0] "This was the same match as the opener, but with less workrate and more psychology and storytelling. I would've rated this *** 1/2 if it wasn't for the half an hour John Cena got beat up by The Bloodline. It's not just something from Roman Reigns, now the whole Bloodline works at the pace of an injured snail, or at least they made them do it like that, as the match drastically changed once LA Knight entered the ring. He should've entered a lot earlier and the match wouldn't have been so boring, but since then, the action was frenetic, and without having to rely on fancy moves and sequences they managed to deliver a compelling story. (*** 1/4) Pd: It's so weird not hearing "Cena Sucks" after the "Let's go Cena" chants."
Jman7 wrote on 29.10.2023:
[7.0] "This was a really simple tag match but I thought it was good fun. A lot of the match is Cena getting worked over by Solo and Jimmy, but he is a really solid FIP here and knows when to get in some offense. LA Knight played his role pretty much perfectly here. ***1/2"
alexxxxblookat wrote on 22.10.2023:
[5.0] "I did not like the way they used Cena in this match. He was just getting his ass kicked 95% of the time, which if this were 10 years ago, it would've been such a fresh sight to see. I know they were trying to build up to an LA Knight hot tag, which I'll admit, was actually pretty solid and the crowd popped huge for, they really dragged it out for way too long. Jimmy's heel run so far has been incredibly poor, especially compared to his brother who is white hot right now on Raw. This match did not live up to the expectations of a match that had Cena and Knight teaming up, it dragged on for ages and was just very boring with Cena taking the brunt of the heat from Jimmy and Solo. At least the crowd was into it though, so that saves it from a lower score."

Screaming Enigma wrote on 13.10.2023:
[7.0] "Yes, this was kind of a slower match, but it picked up towards the end and made for an entertaining Tag Match overall. I think Cena has been playing this angle with Knight really well. When Knight initially signed the contract for this, Cena was acting as though he was some random NXT wrestler who got someone like The Rock to team with him. Here, Knight was the guy being built for the hot tag rather than Cena and I loved it."
ThunderCloud wrote on 11.10.2023:

The only reason I can even give this a 4/10 is because the match actually got pretty exciting once LA Knight got tagged in. I wouldve liked to see the match move at that pace the entire way through instead of what we actually got. This might be the worst match Ive ever heard a this is awesome chant for."

[4.0] "This match was basically get heat on Cena for 90% of the match, then have a LA Knight hot tag and win. The heat was so long and bored me out of my mind. The work from Jimmy and Solo was getting little to no reaction, it was brutal. The ending sequence was pretty hot but that doesn't make up for the rest of the match being dreadful. Also a lot of LA Knights offense when coming in for the hot tag completely missed or was just sloppy, wasn't very impressed with this match at all. But hey, the crowd gave a massive reaction when LA Knight got the hot tag and win so they're doing something right i guess, just not for me."

This match was so bad that at one point the crowd was completely dead while JOHN CENA was in the ring... I think it says it all. At least the right guy won."

Cena was a really good FIP in this match with strong selling, and knowing when to get in that little bit of offense. Cena really put Solo over as a threat during this. LA Knight was put in the perfect role, by essentially really only coming in to get the hot tag, and then get the pinfall victory.***1/2"

Its unfortunate, but I think we didnt have to wait any longer. The content was not very interesting. So we still have to see Roman Reigns' reaction to Smack Down."
bigredtalk89 wrote on 09.10.2023:

coppercowries wrote on 08.10.2023:
[3.0] "Well I'm happy the crowd liked it, because I was yelling at the TV for something to please happen. And it didn't, for the first 14 or so minutes. Cena just takes a painfully boring beatdown while Solo phones in some offense, stares listlessly into the crowd, drags Cena away from making the tag again. Knight gets a decent pop on the tag and wins the match. This sucked."
Some Guy wrote on 08.10.2023:
[4.0] "This was a disappointment because John Cena and LA Knight teaming together is really cool, but the match didn't live up to the hype. Most of the match was Cena selling for Jimmy and Solo. Obviously they were building toward a hot tag to LA Knight, and once it finally happened the crowd went crazy, it just took way too long to get there. The last few minutes when LA Knight was in were the best part because finally things happened at a quicker pace. Cena and LA Knight win to the surprise of nobody. This was okay, had it been much shorter it would have been more enjoyable. 4/10"

arkhamoutlaw10 wrote on 08.10.2023:
[2.0] "A terrible house show match, an utter waste of John Cena who is only back for a short amount of time for strikes, deeply boring heel offence for the majority of the match, building to a big tag and huge pop for a wrestler that I don't care about in the slightest. I don't understand the LA Knight phenomenon, I don't find him particularly charismatic and I certainly don't think he's dynamic in the ring. Jimmy Uso has been very poor since the heel turn, especially in comparison to Jey who is on fire on Raw."
Soo-Play wrote on 08.10.2023:

He gets his shit kicked in or completely avoids action for 95% of the match. You can say it's a way to spotlight the other performers, but it just doesn't make for an interesting match or use of his star power."

LA Knight just has it, I dont even watch every week, but LA Knight always gets my attention. This was a mid bordering on awful match, but LA Knight had the crowd in his hands and got everyone hyped."

It was kinda heavy to see since I just wanted to see the main but it's surely worth 3, 25* out of 5 at least. ***1/4"

You could argue they extended the heat segment out to a ridiculous length but when you get a result like they did with LA Knight 's hot tag it's hard to say they did anything wrong. Plus I enjoy watching this hair-era Cena sell quite a bit along with throwing out some late match mannerisms I don't think I've seen from him before. An A+ house show match."

The final hot tag from Knight is fun, especially as the crowd is clearly hot for it, but we didn't an initial 10 minutes of boredom to build for it. 6/10."

It was the simplest Tag Team Match that you can imagine and it was exactly what it had to be, as it was all about pops for Knight. Good stuff and you could do this type of match only with the real superstars and it's heartwarming that Drake has become one."

LA Knight really kicked some Bloodline ass when they finally got him his tag. The crowd YEAHd everything he did. I watched him in this match with Cena like a proud father. Watching LA Knight finally get over after just building and building for years and years is one of the thrills Of pro wrestling. With everybody saying!"

By the time Knight finally tagged in the crowd was ready for him and his hot tag was by far the overall highlight of the match. Knight picking up the win in the match was good too. Cena and Knight played off of each other well. I felt like this could have been shorter with a bit more energy to it but they accomplished what they seemingly wanted to hear so it could have been worse."
PACMANJONES wrote on 08.10.2023:
[9.0] "Great match entirely built around getting the biggest possible pop for LA Knight. Cena had his working boots on here as he bumped like a madman for the Bloodline to really garner sympathy for the eventual massive hot tag. Everything Cena did in this match was in service of getting LA Knight more over and I think it worked like a damn charm. The crowd was truly nuclear for this entire match and it added to the intense atmosphere of the whole thing. I'm really impressed with Jimmy's heel work as well."
Dune wrote on 08.10.2023:
[3.0] "Bad. Incredibly boring Cena beatdown for 15 minutes featuring hot tag spots we've seen twice before on this show extended way further than they should have been. There really, truly was nothing going on here from either Jimmy or Solo, and pretty much everyone was just waiting around for Knight to get a big pop, hit his finisher, and win. Thought it was weird that this had built-in storytelling involving Solo and Cena considering the latter's history with Umaga, but no one made mention of it on commentary nor was it reflected in the match. Felt like a missed opportunity that would have called back to one of Cena's most iconic feuds. Anyways, Knight is over. This helps him get even more over and look like a star. His ringwork isn't anything special, but it doesn't have to be. I couldn't even tell you the finishing sequence here, just incredibly forgettable stuff."

There was good heat , and this was the better of the two tag matches , the opener provided some good but overbooked wrestling , this provided slow methodical , wrestling that had heat. Solo and Jimmy were good parts , enjoyed Jimmy's wrestling. Jimmy has been gold in this new run. Jimmy has more swagger than Jey , but Jey is a good babyface."
GoldLiger wrote on 08.10.2023:
[7.0] "Somehow felt like a PPV match despite not really having any stakes, just on the back of how over Cena, Knight, and The Bloodline are. Building the match around a long Cena Face-in-Peril segment to set up the big LA Knight hot tag was very smart, gives the crowd plenty of John and his goofy but endearing selling while minimizing how much Knight has to actually do in the match, since he's as basic as basic gets as a worker. That said, he nailed his hot tag and that vertical to the top rope was really impressive. Jimmy & Solo do a solid job working Cena over throughout, Solo does a lot of Umaga stuff and does it pretty well, and I'd never quite seen the knees-up counter to the Banzai Drop-looking thing he did there before so that was neat. Heyman on the outside relaying the play by play to Roman and "authorizing" offense to Cena was fun too. Super effective and quite over for a match that looked like a post-Smackdown Dark Match on paper. ***1/2"
celticinvader wrote on 08.10.2023:
[4.0] "That did nothing for me. Once LA Knight got tagged in, it got somewhat exciting, and the finisher was great, but it took forever to get there. Most of the match consisted of Cena getting his ass beat in various, unexciting ways. No flair, no style, and surprisingly no real brutality either. Theyre trying to make Solo look like this monster heel but I did not believe it for a second in this match at all. Not sure if it was his fault or Cenas. Knight stole the show, the end was solid, but why did this need to go on as long as it did?"

[10.0] "Welp, looks like my prediction that IYO SKY vs. Asuka vs. Charlotte Flair might be the match of the night was short-lived. This match seems like it was scientifically created just to appeal to me. Two guys I love to cheer (John Cena and L.A. Knight) take on two guys that I love to boo (in a good way) (Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa) and it's a hell of a match. From a wrestling standard, this was probably an 8/10 but the storytelling (both in the build up and in the ring itself) was so engrossing that it pushed this all the way to a 10/10."
