El Desperado vs. Yoshinobu Kanemaru

[7.0] "Two former stablemates and tag partners tearing apart each other's legs sounds like a formula for a good match and this was exactly that. Kanemaru still delivers when given enough time and Despy was pretty great selling the leg and overcoming his veteran opponent. ***3/4"

[9.0] "Despy's one of my favorites atm, but I'll take a good "getting son'd" match in wrestling anywhere I can get it. This version of Kanemaru is so effortlessly cool. Relentless limbwork that somehow feels both gritty and smooth. And Despy is the best seller in the division. Just an easy recipe for success + the bonus of obvious built in emotion. ****1/2"

[6.0] "6.5 - Really hype, loved the emotion between the two. Nobu has always been great but seeing how easily he's moved into a top Junior role is amazing."

[8.0] "A great match for me, I have seen them fight each other very few times and I thought it was a great fight because they used very natural wrestling resources and that gave it realism."

[8.0] "These two have incredible chemistry and I loved silver boots Kanemaru getting the upset. Excellent psychology and a lot of fun. ****"

[6.0] "A boring technical encounter. They worked their leg each others without any passion in good match that wasn't anythinik of espacial. It was too slow and I didn't fell any hate or emotion. ZSJ would be disappointed of this. ***1/4"

[9.0] "A match with hardly any athleticism, but with a simple story of going for leg submissions. And it was brilliant! Even in New Japan, it's not too often that you see a figure four finishing a match, but they pulled it off nicely. Bonus points for Kanemaru doing a drop-down trip that actually worked. ****1/4"

[6.0] "Not really a fan of this match, it just didn't click for me. I was surprised to see Despy lose but it was a nice touch to the match but the final moments was the only thing I loved"

[10.0] "What a masterclass! Perfect semi final before what will surely be a high paced car crash. Kanemaru and Desperado showcased the technical style to perfection with excellent chemistry as former partners, and I loved every second. Their counters, submissions and nearfalls all popped me. Desperados legs will definitely be a story in all of his matches going forward in the tournament."
