[2.0] "Yeah, this was a terrible debut. I've always been one who never thought Britt was really good and Saraya looked VERY rusty here. At the end of the day she isn't good and they chose the wrong dance partner for her."
[1.0] "This was a mess. There wasn't really a story in the match and the in ring was really sloppy which can be expected for sarayas first match back. Crowd was also dead for all of the action which certainly didn't help"
[3.0] "This was all over the place lol Saraya was really underwhelming during her initial return period and cut some awful promos which killed the hype for this match and then Britt decided to say f it and turn babyface during the build. The action was really subpar, just all around it was a bizarre time for the women in the company."
[3.0] "I found the story of this match really confused, its like they were scared of making either of these girls fully heel so tried to do a face v face match but that doesnt work when 2 minutes in Britt Bakers giving a woman whos just had neck surgery a neckbreaker and still tried to make her look like the face? Some clunky work here too."
[5.0] "Great to see Saraya wrestling again after a long time, very cool moment for her. The match was interesting and had cool moments, Saraya was clearly rusty there and it was a solid match to kick off things and give her ring time - {**1/4}"
[1.0] "I thought Jade Cargill V Nyla Rose was bad this was equally as bad sure i wasn't expecting a Rhea Charlotte Flair match as it was sarayas first match in 5 years but this was not good at all it was very slow and sloppy and just looked very messy 1/10."
[2.0] "Yeah people saying jade vs Nyla was the worst match had some competition with this. Saraya has luckily got better but she was so rusty here and Britt had to carry the match and shes simply not a strong enough worker to carry the match to be serviceable"
[5.0] "Nice enough to have Saraya back, but didn't really give us much substance in the actual match itself. Everything was just average, with Britt mainly carrying the load of Saraya's ring rust. [2.5]"
[5.0] "I was really hoping for more from Saraya's return to the ring, but I also have the feeling that she didn't train as long as someone like Edge or Bryan Danielson for their return. To my understanding, she only got medically cleared a couple of weeks before this. Either way, this was fine for what it was, but I think it could have been so much more."
[5.0] "Baker leads and dominates the match. We feel that years have passed since Saraya's retirement, she is having difficulty leading the match as well as positioning herself and selling. Sleepy crowd. (2*1/2)"
"Hoo boy, Saraya was rusty in this match. Saraya's been booked (and has looked) much better in the ring since this match, but she was well behind Britt's spots and dragged this match down significantly. I probably would have had Britt win this match. *"
[3.0] "This was really bad! Saraya's ring rust was probably the main problem and Baker wasn't good enough to guide her during the match. The action was sloppy and slow and the match was very boring. Baker's work on Sara's neck was also sloppy. Surely a great moment for Saraya but I can't save this match. 3/10 - 1.5*/5*"
[2.0] "Just awful awful stuff. Saraya in her prime was not particularly good, and here she was lost and gassed out. Britt Baker is hardly the level of worker to drag someone to a great match if her opponent doesn't have the toolkit. Combine this with a terrible build and this is honestly such a down spot on the show. 1 star."
[2.0] "Oh my fucking god that shitty match had not only a terrible build but also a glacial pace. They very slowly and carefully did some moves and then it ended. Terrible drivel. *."
[6.0] "This lacked psychology, but was well executed. These women basically hit hard moves on each other until one of them won. Different kind of match in the middle of the show, not great, but a little better than mediocre, I think."
[0.0] "A true failure of a match. How do you turn the comeback story of Saraya into such a lifeless plodding match with a dead crowd? It's shows the difference between these two saying they're stars and actually being stars."
[6.0] "That wasn't something bright, but that was pretty solid. They've chosed the easy way, but playing with Saraya's neck was the best thing to do. For each bump, we worried like we've neve before. And once Saraya found her confidence, that went pretty well. Of course she has ring rust, but I've seen worse rust than her's. Baker isn't the best for carry somedy, but she had a good showing on her own. The final minutes went up in terms of quality. Maybe I'm way too happy to see Saraya back. Gosh, I was a bit in love with her when I was 12, lmao."
[5.0] "A basic match limited by Saraya being rusty and getting blown up quickly. I also think we had the wrong winner because Saraya could be forgiven for losing having not wrestled in five years, then we could have a rematch. But maybe they just wanted to get out of this bungled storyline and move on. The match also highlighted how much women's wrestling has improved compared to Saraya's peak eight years ago and she's not actually that good in comparison."
[6.0] "After five long years of battling her demons physically & mentally, Saraya returned to the four cornered confinement in style. The action could've felt safe & not engaging enough as expected, but it was completely acceptable for me considering her concerns & ring rust. Both women had their fundamentals executed right with an effective angle of putting the neck of Saraya on high jeopardy. Props to Britt for handling this contest like a pro and taking a loss after that kind of effort. 3 out of 5 stars!"
[3.0] "It was very meh. Boring and it the pacing kind of drag, the action was sloppy and I was not a fan of Brit loosing to another Ex WWE star. Good moment for Saraya though. *1/2"
[7.0] "For a first match in 5 years I don't see an issue with this match at all? Maybe like a couple moves were sloppy but I've seen way worse from wrestlers who've been wrestling every week. Hell Liv and Ronda from Extreme Rules was more sloppy than this. They went out there and did there shit simple as that . Y'all are mean. Edit: ok a good chunk of you are actually being pretty fair but still I think this lower rated then it deserves"
[5.0] "For 5 years of ring rust and a supposedly fragile neck, this was a solid return match, but working gingerly with an opponent as bland as Britt was not the makings of a particularly good match. Nothing fundamentally wrong, just slow and uninteresting outside of a couple worked neck pain moments that I suppose landed properly. I saw someone say this match felt like a pretty good match played on slow motion and I agree, which I suppose gives me hope for Saraya's matches in the future. **1/2"
[1.0] "This was Sarayas first match in five years and boy did it show. Britt tried to carry her but no disrespect she didn't have the ability to drag Saraya to any decent level."
[6.0] "It wasn't a spectacular match sure, but in terms of wrestling - they did alright. It was an ok return match for Saraya, even though the ring rust is clearly visible. But with more time, I'm sure she can get into shape."
[5.0] "I am choosing not to be overly critical of Saraya's in-ring work here, given she hasn't worked a non-WWE match in over a decade, and any in-ring stuff since 2017. Other than the obvious ring rust, this was totally passable as a big return match. Britt sold great for Saraya even when her offense was lacking, and it felt like a big deal. All that being said, the Funk babyface booking did not really work for me here, the slow neck offense and pacing just made Saraya look very weak and did little to hide her mistakes. I'll be looking forward to her future work, but I think this match will be forgotten as her career with AEW goes forward."
[5.0] "Saying this was worse than Jade's match is insane. It wasn't a banger, but Saraya has that veteran maneuverability where she looks competent. I was expecting her to look lost, she didn't, that's a win. She needs to improve on her execution of moves, but she'll also face opponents better than Britt."
[2.0] "Worse than Jade match for me, it just wasn't Pay per view worthy in my opinion that could b better on tv but damn I just really dislike this bout overall. Great revolution for AEW that has only 5 good matches involving their women division so far."
[4.0] "This was a fine match, Sararya did a pretty good job for someone who has not wrestled in five years. They had some awkward movements in this match, traded some really bad strikes at one point in this as well. Britt naturally targeted Saraya? s neck in this one and the selling was relatively fine. They tried to get in a whole bunch of near falls in at the end but it didnt really work here.**1/4"
[1.0] "1.5 but I'm rounding down here. 5 years absent or not. Don't care. Never seen someone look less like a wrestler than Saraya here. Slow and weak and tired with everything she did. Baker worked circles around here trying to carry her the best she could... which was sure a sight. Worse than Jade Nyla."
[2.0] "Too long and seemed laid out to emphasize the weaknesses of each performer. Can't be too critical of Paige given this is her first match in years, but in that case you'd think they'd want to make sure it came off great instead of throwing her in a no win situation."
[1.0] "Very weird match. Britt gave what was a received as a babyface promo on the Dynamite before and then just works unrepentant heel the whole match. What little story there was they worked completely against. It's no wonder the crowd was dead."
[4.0] "As someone who hadn't really seen a lot of Saraya matches, I was intrigued if not worried. What ensued was a boring match. I've seen people make comparisons to Punk and when it comes to what Saraya said in the scrum I'm glad she's taken training seriously, but Punk's first match back was good at worst while this was boring."
[2.0] "This match dragged very hard, was sloppy, and was not bolstered by a remotely interesting storyline. Saraya looked remarkably lost whenever it was her turn on offense, with lethargic and sloppy delivery and plenty of dead air. Britt can be great with the right opponent but is not nearly experienced or exciting enough to carry a substantially worse opponent to a good match. This match relies on the viewer being excited to see Saraya return and willing to give her the benefit of the doubt and has little to nothing to offer beyond that, and given I did not care much for Saraya even in her prime, this match gave me nothing but wasted time. *"
[2.0] "Everyone thought Paige was going to die or something from taking bumps. She didn't thankfully. It'll probably take some time to see if she has much to give to AEW though. Wasn't a good match but she survived."
[6.0] "It is nice to see Saraya back, and this match was okay, but it really didn't have any amazing moments that stuck out and I personally am not super invested in the story going into this match so I didn't really care all that much unfortunately. **3/4"
[1.0] "Neckbreaker: the match. It wasn't likely this was going to be good but I'm confused as to why this match was laid out the way it was. Britt's not a worker who can carry anyone, let alone someone with years of ring rust on them, so this was set up to fail."
[6.0] "This match is as hard to rate as it was being in the crowd. People being more into Britt but not wanting to boo Saraya made it all feel disconnected. Ultimately happy to see her back but her next match really needs to be above and beyond."
[5.0] "Worst match of the night without a doubt, Saraya never had great performances and it wasn't going to be today that she would have one, this match had the capacity to be less interesting than Jade vs Nyla (**1/2)"
[5.0] "Britt vs Saraya is a decent concept for a feud, but ultimately it lead to a match of green vs rust. A more seasoned opponent could have helped hide Saraya's weaknesses, but Britt just lacks the experience to do that. Still, it was a more than watchable match"
[1.0] "This match was basically billed as a legend who revolutionized women's pro wrestling in Saraya versus her modern day equivalent in Britt Baker. Sounds ridiculous, yeah, even more so after this poorly performed match with a dead crowd."
"Weak match, crowd half asleep for an alleged "star" making their big return to the ring. Low hype, and wouldn't be fair to say it was even able to live up to that. Neither look set for the World Title anymore after the match Hayer / Storm had later in the night."
[1.0] "This wasn't good at all but it could have been a lot worse. Don't even mind Saraya winning either but I think she's going to have to do a lot more work in the ring and with the crowd to make this run work"
[1.0] "This was so slow and plodding. Completely dragged the entire show to a halt and it took a couple matches for it to recover. If you have to make a bunch of excuses for why a match was never going to be good in the first place then the match shouldn't have happened."
