[6.0] "I thought that was a decent match. Crowbar making his NJPW debut was a nice surprise. Him and Fred Rosser had some decent chemistry in the ring. 6/10"
"Devon Storm/Crowbar joins Christopher Daniels and Jerry Lynn as one of the only people to have worked in all the big promotions. He might have lost a step over the years but he looked decent here and had a good showing against Fred Rosser. There were some awful-looking striking exchanges down the stretch that bring my rating down but this was fun and better than I expected."
[7.0] "Pretty much every step of the way I expected Crowbar to just fall apart, blow up or start botching left and right, but he did a tremendous job leaving a good impression on the audience and on me personally. It's a shame that a lot of written reviews take performances like this for granted, because I don't think I'll ever see another performance from Crowbar like this."
[6.0] "It was great to see Crowbar get a decent length match. His top rope hurricanrana took me by surprise and showed shades of his 90s indie days as junior heavyweight/cruiserweight Devon Storm."
[6.0] "I cannot remember the last time I saw a Crowbar match, but this was a nice surprise! Crowbar was the star of this match, and put forth one hell of an effort with some great highlights, from the apron clothesline to the avalanche Hurricanrana. Fred was actually the weak point of this match, with some bleh selling and poor timing. There was also some bad striking exchanges from both men that hurt it slightly. I hope to see Crowbar work NJPW STRONG following this match, I think he'd be a really fun addition to the brand!"
[6.0] "This match was better than I could have ever expected it to be. Crowbar had some show-stealing moments, including the insane Avalanche Frankensteiner that made me jump out of my seat. I would not be surprised to see this as a launching pad for Crowbar to experience a minor career renaissance with future appearances on NJPW Strong. As for Fred Rosser, he brings the energy and physicality to his matches. The closing sequence was also quality, which helped put the finishing touches on what became a thoroughly entertaining match. This was the first of many examples of New Japan giving back to the New York area local wrestlers, and I thought it was genuinely cool to see them do so. 3 stars, 6 out of 10."
