122.05.2025ReiEscobar7.0The ring action was good but not enough to keep me interessed completelly into the match. The start was insane, Kerry von Erich had a insane dropkick that I even think why no one talks about that today, for sure it's in the conversation for best dropkick ever along side with AJ and Okada.

610.05.2025OwenEdwards6.0This is flawed but good. You get a pretty continuous stream of (mostly) nicely-executed exchanges and spots, whipping up the crowd as they look for their hero to win the title for his departed brother. Flair turns up and works in every direction, both working the crowd and keeping things pacey whilst carnying up his fear and his pain. The ending - a slightly shuffled struggle into a backslide to give Kerry the win - is protection for Flair, and is justly sniffed at, but it still works, and it fits in with the real theme here: today, and perhaps only today, Kerry cannot be stopped. This means that Flair doesn't get to work ordinary ehat segments on him, and that's a serious limitation, but we need to understand the layout here. Kerry just will not give Flair a break, and even though perhaps normally he's not Flair's equal, here he'll find a way - hence the backslide. They had better matches. 3/5
710.05.2025Brutish Dandy5.0They really don't do much of anything. Feels like a TV match thrown together at the last minute. Wouldn't surprise me if Flair decided to rib Kerry and let him call it in the ring, knowing Kerry doesn't have fifteen minutes worth of material. Crowd liked it. Historical match. Whatever. Totally skippable.

1307.05.2025tlaustin6.0Obviously this is a legendary moment for the Von Erich's and NWA title at large, and I probably don't need to tell you this is maybe the most important piece of the Von Erich v. Ric Flair feud that spanned multiple years. But aside from an on fire crowd and a few memorable submission attempts (I laughed at Flair yelling "WATCH THE TIGHTS! " while Erich applied the ab stretch) there isn't a lot of meat to this match--it's a very substandard performance that doesn't go on for terribly long or ever really build or even try to tell an in-ring story. The emotions of the match and the passing of David carry this far beyond the work itself.

1524.04.2025uselessdollthing5.0Great win and moment for Kerry, this is obviously a very emotionally charged match. I was sort of underwhelmed with Flair in this though he this does his job, it's Kerry who steps up and really brings the life into this match. He's super motivated and has the crowd right behind him.

1928.10.2024Der Galische Krieger7.006/05/1984 Von Erich Memorial Parade of Champions WCCW. Not the greatest of matches technically or the smoothest of Flair matches, missing a bit of chemistry. Some good moments like Kerry's dropkicks, Flair keeping the heat and that pop at the end was massive. They did what they had to do and got it over. For what it was in history it gets an extra half star. 7*

2220.09.2024Zak226.0very standard stuff and nothing hugely exciting. I get that its a great moment but as a match its very so so.
2312.08.2024Dane7.0A decent match with a great crowd, Kerry Von Erich finally beat Ric Flair and for the big gold, what a tuff match. Kerry made a rollup finish look good.
2405.06.2024cjm5505068.0The in ring action is good but not on par with either man's best. But this moment is an all-timer and the way this match finishes such a perfect night for the crowd has to be taken into consideration because that's what wrestling is about. I wish we could see more from Kerry's reign, but I see why the NWA didn't want to keep the belt on him long when they had Ric Flair around.
2530.04.2024ABQMIKE9.0Emotional match. Crowd was electric and popped huge when Kerry got the backslide pin. His moment in the sun and Flair was the perfect heel. Texas wrestling was just a different beast. Von Erich's were like the Beatles. This match meant something and it felt like it. It seemed beyond wrestling and that in itself was awesome.
2624.02.2024cibar125.0Allright match with right winner, great feel good moment for family and amazign tribute for David. Flair did right thing with putting Kerry over. Match was just a normal fight, nothing special didn't felt amazing chemistry between to. Ending with rollup was right choice considering Flair got title back 2 weeks later.

2916.02.2024Kyle from TheMatchGuide5.0A pretty dull and average match, enhanced by the moment of Kerry winning the title, and the fantastic crowd. There isn't any real complaints with this one to be clear, it's just the match is simple, and clearly a victim of its time. If you like the territories and good 'ol school wrestling, you'll find more enjoyment out of this than I ever reasonably could. 2.75 Stars.

3218.01.2024WrestleCent The match itself is quite simple but thats not what makes this incredible. The fans, the venue, the circumstance and the STORY that is told is exactly what you want in a match like this in my opinion. The family embrace at the end is beautiful.

3728.12.2023birds12310.0What a historic match. This feels like the epitome of old school wrestling. The simplicity yet excellence of the competitors. Kerry dedicating this to his late brother, while Ric Flair is doing everything in his power to keep his title. The pop for Kerrys win was insane. Modern wrestling should strive for simplicity and storytelling like this
3827.12.2023CMFunk0079.0This is an historic match between Kerry Von Erich and Ric Flair in which Kerry Von Erich defeats him for the NWA World Title, back when that actually meant something. This came on the heels of David's death, but the crowd was ecstatically behind Kerry as he made history here. A great classic.

4212.10.2023zackdanerd7.0What a monstrous ovation for a simple match... Really cool to watch these matches back and see that it doesn't take an insane high-flying back-breaking match to work a crowd. MJF, Adam Cole, Roman Reigns, even L.A. Knight are showing this right now. Bringing back old styles is hopefully helping longevity of performers. Of course, you have a very special situation here of a family death that makes the crowd even more enthralled with a simple match, so it's maybe not the best comparison. Either way, super exciting match with an incredible payoff for a tragic real life story that's tragedy just continues to unravel.
4306.10.2023Cigarette Salesman7.0When I die I may not go to heaven. I don't know if they let cowboys in. If they don't, just let me go to Texas, boy! Texas Stadium on May 6th 1984 is as close as I've been. This match, from the entrances to the celebrations that culminate with him walking out with his mother, is the embodiment of the dream of professional wrestling. The stuff in between is good enough to keep from letting it down.

4514.09.2023flightaker3217.0Kerry Von Erich getting his big moment was nice to see, and the match they had here was good. Their technical wrestling was good here, and both men's work overall was good here. The fans go crazy whenever Kerry is on offense, and you can just tell they are dying to see him win the match. It felt like they were really starting to cook., but then Kerry just won suddenly with a backslide.***1/2

4715.06.2023steviecw9.0Ignoring that there's arguably an exploitative element to Fritz putting his boys out there at such a time, it's a beautiful match. Shows the qualities of both men brilliantly. Kerry's backslide pin was a lovely looking finish. Happy Kerry got this run with the World title, however brief.
4810.05.2023Wrestling Forever 8.0Beide hatten zig Matches gegeneinander und viele sind Klassiker das gehört dazu denn es ist Teil der Wrestling Geschichte (***1/2).
4927.11.2022Makai Club 5.0A bit of backstory on this. A few months ago, David von Erich died while he was in Japan scheduled to do a tour over there. It? s a legend that David von Erich was scheduled to beat Ric Flair for the NWA World Heavyweight title and be pushed as the face of the NWA. Obviously that was no longer an option. But for the von Erich family, this is still an emotional period for them and the territory. And that? s what makes this a special moment, even more so than it would? ve been. The match itself was okay. The match had some good technical wrestling with quick amature tackdowns with Flair trying to calm the situation - the crowd being very pro Kerry and him being extra motivated. Kerry starts hitting his big offence though and goes wild with punches. Flair desperately tries to keep him at bay with the abdominal stretch but nope. The match ends pretty quick after Flair gets slammed off the top rope and loses his attempts at locking the figure four on quickly before getting caught with a backslide for the win. It wasn? t a classic for me. But to the fans, it was everything. **3/4
5010.07.2022WhatIsLooveee7.0At this show, Kerry made his great triumph by winning the NWA world heavyweight championship, and his victory was very emotional, due to the tragic events that preceded this show. Although the match itself was just decent, and title-reign lasted less than a month, the moment of winning this championship is still very touching.
