[7.0] "This was actually pretty close to the top matches of that tournament, ELP hit Despe mostly with big impact moves in the beginning of the match so Despe starts to target ELP's legs in order to prepare the Numero Dos. Despes leg work wasn't that big of a part in this match, it mattered while Despe wanted to lock in the Numero Dos, so when he stopped doing so in the end, his leg work wasn't that important anymore either. But the ending stretch was really good, some of the false finishes, especially the one where Despe kicked out of the CR2 were done really well, since ELP built up the CR2 as such an impactful finish throughout the tournament, so it was even more fitting that Despe used the CR2 himself in order to put ELP away. Unfortunately, I knew the outcome of this match so it didn't hit as much as it could have."

Both guys went for the other's legs while both sold the shit well. They were here to destroy and they could have fought all night long, I didn't see the 20-minute mark going by. The final minutes were almost breathless, as the finish was badass."

It didn't feel long, it just felt like it never clicked into a higher gear for the time they were given. They had a story early on with ELP trying to run out the clock but this was abandoned soon after. ELP was still great here. He was creative on offense and consistently sold his leg. He's going to have an amazing G1 this year, I can feel it. ***1/4"

The finish was super interesting, as Desperado won after hitting the Pinche Loco, followed by the CR2. It's not every day that you see someone get pinned clean after being hit with their own finisher."

I think these longer matches in arenas with relatively quiet crowds (even for clap crowds) and every light in the building always on tend to be quite draining anyway, and I didn't feel there was enough in this match to overcome that. The end result just felt a bit flat for me."

[6.0] "Decent match. Phantasmo starting the match running around to waste time was clever, but it's a bit senseless that he never tried to run again and let the time pass by, even when he was under Desperado's control. They did not display the best chemistry. The match was solid but they could do much better. It seems like they were saving some energy."

[6.0] "Good match between El Desperado and El Phantasmo here which wasn't for me something great or anything like some may think (and that's all to their credit) but was still a lot of fun because with two wrestlers like them it can't be bad, I will say that it was a bit too long for what it was because finally when you see the content you have the right to think that it had no reason to last twenty minutes but fortunately for them it was never particularly boring. I'll say that Phantasmo was the most explosive and creative in this match, which was largely dominated by him you'll say, but I'd like to point out that I didn't find Desperado as good as usual, he's used to much better and even more so in this tournament in which he's maybe the MVP, so of course I thought both would be at their best, especially since this match was decisive since the winner was simply going to the final. It was still cool, but it should have been much better."

It started with some interesting antics, with Phantasmo stalling in the hopes of forcing a draw, but then they abandon that conceit entirely and just have a pretty normal match. It was a cold crowd, too, which made it hard to get too excited about Desperado's big victory."

[8.0] "What a match! It was very intriguing and epically tough. The fighters just wrote a whole story and were able to conquer me with their endurance and dedication. In general, they are the main favorites of the tournament and I knew that this would be the main match of the entire tournament in terms of importance. El Phantasmo gave his all for the sake of victory, but even CR2 and Sudden Death could not bring happiness, but CR2 gave passage to the finals in the performance of El Desperado, and such an action can mean a confrontation because ELP will be offended by such a defeat and I'm sure they will meet again in the same ring and show another show!"

But I couldn't get that invested in it, and sometimes, the timing seemed all over the place. Still, the final moments of the bout are pretty cool and can entertain you, especially when El Desperado kicks out of the CRII, shocking you A LOT. ***1/4"

Unfortunately, the crowd was cold through most of it, the match was plodding at times, and there wasn't much in the way of crisp wrestling. They were finally able to get the crowd into the match at the end. ***1/2"

What I found so fascinating about this one was how these two men were absolutely destroyed after two weeks of hard competition, so even though they were relatively close to the 30-minute mark, you could feel any move at any time could have been enough to defeat them, since they had almost nothing left in the tank and were wrestling out of pure will."
