[5.0] "I should state right off the batt that I'm not too familiar with or partial to lucha - and I have seen little from these two wrestlers. However, this was really refreshing for me. The psychology from both men here was great - stuff like feigning to one side only to attack the other, little tricks to try and 1 up the opponent. I love how Santo spins with Casas to stop him escaping from a waist-lock while on the mat. Also Casas is great at making noises which sell the discomfort he is in. After some mat work, the pace picks up and Santo hits some kind of arm drag which looked awesome. Casas bails to the outside and is laying in a supine position which leads Santo to hit a suicide dive senton of some sort to Casas. After a couple more exchanges, Casas goes for a sharpshooter but Santo spins out, only to tweak his knee in the process. Casas is like a shark that just smelled blood, going straight after the leg. Although Casas is working rudo, he gets himself a chant but it is rivalled by a Santo chant. At one point Santo gets on a submission and won't let go for a rope break. Then he stomps the back of Casas' head viciously. So the lines are definitely blurred here. After ripping Santo's mask, Casas goes for a top rope move but is cut off and bails to the outside. Shortly after he is hit with a flying crossbody from the top to the floor. Santo grabs a chair while out the ring and caves in Casas' skull which gets boos. Although Santo is a tecnico, there is good heat established here so it makes enough sense. When back in the ring, Santo goes for a top rope splash on Casas but misses and Casas performs a sloppy looking La Magistral for the win. Overall, I'm sure this doesn't even come close to the best matches in either man's catalogue but it was an intriguing watch for someone not too familiar with the style. (2.75*)"
